I was told a couple of weeks ago that the Irvings will give the Fredericton Train Station to a new owner.

Guess what the Irvings are going to do???

They are going to fix the roof with their own money!!!

Can this be true??? I'll believe it when I see it!!!

Ohhhh???? The sad part is the Irving's lobbylists will still be around so they can tell the Liberals what to do!!

Mill Shutdowns
Posted Wednesday, January 30, 2008 5:04 pm
The nation's slumping housing market and competition from imports are being blamed for the shutdown of two Aroostook County sawmills and a loss of 145 jobs.

Fraser Papers says 72 workers are being displaced for up to four months because of the closure of its sawmill in Ashland. Some of the remaining 200-plus employees will be transferred to Fraser's other mills in the region.

In Nashville Plantation, J.D. Irving Forest Products is closing its Pinkham Sawmill, which had been operating about three days a week. Officials said that shutdown begins tomorrow and will continue indefinitely. (WAGM-TV)

The roof is only the tip of the problem - this building is most likely unsalvageable.

It's time we stopped begging for decency from these companies - there are laws on the books which cover most of these things.

But your police are busy busting bloggers and small-time drug dealers - how about they go after the real criminals for once?

The Irvings are getting blasted about media monopolies and forestry handouts. They were waiting for the complaints to get bad before doing something nice so people will forget.
