Environmental fees charged on new tire sales, which partially subsidize the cost of collecting and recycling scrap tires in New Brunswick, are scheduled for an increase, effective March 1.
This will mark the first time that the fees have changed since the Tire Stewardship Program (TSP) was introduced Oct. 1, 1996.
Such fees must be collected on each new tire sold, including those on new or leased vehicles and equipment. All fees are based on rim size and tire designation.
Most car, truck, motorocycle, and off road vehciel tries will have their trie levy increase from $3 to $4.50.
