PRICE OF GAS AND NEWSPAPERS GO HAND IN HAND????

don't print this (but you can use it)

The price of a litre of gas went up to 99.9 on Sunday in Moncton only at Esso and Irving. It stayed at 92.9 everywhere else. Esso went back down by Tuesday but Irving kept theirs at 99.9. I know of other areas where the price went higher.

In Sackville, the price only went down this morning.

Except Irving of course.

Here's the interesting part: the Irving owned MONCTON Times &
Transcript had 2 frontpage stories (Tue. and Wed.) of the gas price hike but made
it sound like EVERYONE brought their price up even though ONLY IRVING had
it at 99.9.

After reading the articles you're left thinking that #1) the price of
gas is higher than ever everywhere and #2) it's only going to go higher.

Both are untrue.

Wishful thinking on behalf of Irvings maybe but not true!!

Don't get your news from Irving papers and be thankful they don't own
the internet! Yet.....

This info only goes to re-assure the reasoning that this family should not be allowed to own all the print in this province if something of this nature does not make you stop and think about the special interest for themselves and how they may be able to accually influance gas prices and other prophiting sceams them benifit this family than I have no idea what will.. And suppose one could argue that if this family is in the market to make millions of dollars and they choose to own the media than maybe they should look at removing any or all writings that have to do with market details of any kind or sell the paper back to the province and go back to learning of such details as they become available to each and everyone of us in that same manner.

Here is a good example of Bernie Lord kissing the ass of Irving and then hiding it and not answering the question in the legislature last Thursday. He was asked ‘when’ he found out about the LNG sweetheart deal. He did not answer and below is Ms. Weir’s second question about who were present when they met with Irvings. Judge for yourself if Lord answered the question. Following was his complete response. Surely even if he was not at the meeting he must know by now who attended from govt side. We pay this guy big fat salary and he refuses to give facts about LNG deal. Guess whose premier is he? Not yours are mine but that of Irving and other big business. He is slave to the big business.

Ms. Weir: I will give the Premier a supplementary because I would like to know what part of “when” he does not understand. My question to the Premier is—and he can respond to that, as well—could he itemize the Cabinet ministers who met with Irving Energy at the rendezvous at the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel?

Mr. Lord: I want to assure the member for Saint John Harbour that I do understand the definition of the word “when”. If that is her question, I do understand. I was not at that meeting that she is talking about, so I do not have personal information on that.

So what is he trying to say he does not know what the rest of his party is doing????That doesn't make sense because he's the one that's sending them to cover all his mishandlings and other problems /Mr.Lord my question to you is this: DO YOU REALLY THINK NEW BRUNSWICKERS ARE AS DUMB AS YOU MAKE US OUT TO BE?????????????

Bernie Lord says it is not him or the province who gave the sweetheart deal of $112 million tax break to Irvings it is the city of Saint John. Yeh right. Mayor did not even consult his own council because he was too busy consulting with Bernie Lord. Yes Lord does think NBers are dumb. He thinks he can fool NBers from here to eternity.

You're all on glue if you think that the Irving like the Tories!

Who said Irvings like Tories? If Irving can make ass of Tories and Lord and get $112 million tax break, other deals and screw the environment with impunity they don’t have to necessarily like Tories, just have their way. It is Lord and his government who is doing the ass-kissing and not the other way around.

To save $44 million Lord government endangered the healthcare services for ten of thousands of New Brunswickers (and may be lives) by closing hospitals and cutting beds. Ignored protests. On the other hand in a blink of an eye Lord government gave its blessings for Irvings to save $112 million on taxes – taxes which will be collected from rest of us to make up the difference. Some priorities????

Lord government raised property assessment throughout NB and property taxes went up for ordinary New Brunswickers but gives whopping $112 million break to Irvings on property tax. What do you make of all this. Does this man need to be carted out of premier’s office or not.

Well just got done watching the cbc and I gotta tell ya it's exactly what we've been saying all along,The Irving are price gouging away in fact they have been charging Triple the mark up price as compared to P.E.I./N.B.NFLD/and Maine(U.S.)What did not surprise me is when cbc did this same study a couple of weeks ago the Irvings of course complained that it was unfair because the study was only done in regulated areas,So this study was done in the Unregulated market and much to the surprise it was even worse!!And of course you guessed it they had a trumped up answer for that also but what it comes down to is the public has pegged them all along as price gougers and there is your proof..So one would have to agree that the only solution to this is if we don't like it we should not be buying from them there is after all compatition out there and study shows chances are good if you look you will find a better price especially through buying power clubs through someone you might know I personally know that Fundy Energy has such a buying power club so ask amoung your friends if they belong to one such club and start putting the pinch on Irving and start reaping the rewards of cheaper oil.

That was definitly an eye opener when they showed that for the last three years strait Saint John N.B. paid the highest prices and the comparisons showed the two previous years they payed about 200.00 hundred per winter more/and this last winter the difference was about 600.00 dollars more!! you be the judge.
