WHY WAS J.D. IRVING IN BERNARD LORD OFFICE??????

I am late for my blog so please excuse the style and grammar because it is indeed going to be a quick one.

Before I begin, I wish to send my prayers to my favourite Priest. He's in Moncton for a surgery and lets pray that everything will be fine. It's nothing serious but a person never know.

I didn't see any bureaucrats or Politicians around the Legislature today. One bureaucrat did come out of the building and quickly ran to his vehicle before I could tell him of the poor pregnant who's five months pregnant and living under the stairways of the Soup Kitchen.

I will confront more people in the morning because the Legislature will be open!

I saw the poor woman last evening and she's eating a lot so what does that tell ya????

Hey? I heard a good one a few hours ago! Did you know that J.D. Irving himself visited the Premier the day before the Budget was announced?

Did the Premier have to receive the ok from J.D. Irving before giving out the budget? Who know? You tell me????

Speaking of the Irvings! Home Depot is going to build a new store in Saint John and that's great because they sure can compete with Kent's < Irving Company! >

The sad part is that the Irvings bought a truss company in Lorneville name- ShamRock! < I think that’s the name? > Who are the people you asked? They run a Its a truss company firm so therefore Home Depot could not go to them for help!

You see the Irvings have a very racist company name - Gulf Operators to run the trucking business in Saint John! They hurled Rocks for their costumers!

Hey? Don't forget? Spring is here and if you buy from Gulf Operators? It means that you support Racism!!!!!!

I wonder how Home Depot are going to move their materials around because I don't believe that the Irvings will give the competition a helping hand?

Do you want to have a look of how many companies the Irvings own.

Here's the list and there might be many more? If I missed some? please send me a email!!!

Of course we could add the Worker's Compensation Board or the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission on this list!

Speaking of Human Rights? I heard there's a Priest who’s going to appear in front of the Human Rights Commission in Alberta to explain his views against same marriage? Can you imagine that one?

The Irvings are allowed to hunt down and assault minorities in this Province and get away with it! Out West or Nova Scotia? You say a bad word against a minorities and the Commission will defend you?

What's wrong with this Picture anyway!

Speaking of the Irving Empire! My Column on the poor will not be printed in the Daily Gleaner! This was told to me a few hours ago!
It was supposed to be printed but the day before it was going to be in the Paper? Peter Huggart < is that how you spell his name > came to the Capital to be the new Publisher of the Daily Gleaner.
He stopped me from writing my views in the Telegraph Journal and now he's doing the same action in the Capital! Give me a break!
Let me know your views on this column that was suppose to be printed in the Daily Gleaner????

Here's the story-

Two different Cities but two different Countries?

In the late 80s, I began to work at the shipyard in Saint John. It was 10 years of good money and a very high standard of living. A few workers would take the bus
to work and we would say - You take the bus??? With all that money you make??? I remember a few workers couldn’t understand the reason that some of our taxes
would go towards the welfare system!

The good old days came to an abrupt end on July 19th, 1996. The Shipyard
closed its doors and many workers received a rude awakening call. Carolyn McNaulty at Romeo House < Soup Kitchen > received many phone calls from many former
shipyard workers in need of help. It was a very difficult financial adjustment. The days of going to the restaurants were over and months afterwards, many
would instead go at the Soup Kitchen.

Saint John always had their share of poor citizens but after the closure of the Shipyard? The amount grew much larger.

On June 17, 2003, I began my six months tent protest in front of the Legislature and I would quickly learned there’s a big different in attitude between the City of Saint John and Fredericton. The Loyalist City has a Blue Collar attitude therefore more open minded than the Capital.

During my first evening, I heard someone shouting towards an individual. The
reason? He was going through a garbage Bin collecting empties. Of course, in Saint John this would be a normal picture and no one will condemn this act.

On July 2nd, I decided to go at Officer’s Square to watch the morning sunrise. While walking near a dumpster someone popped their head like a Jack in the box. He
had a cardboard box over his head. He was collecting empty bottles from the celebration of the evening before. He told me that he only makes $264.00 an month
therefore that’s not enough to survive on. He came by my tent and told me that he collected $92.00 in bottles and went home happy!

It’s called –Survival!

I would soon found out there was a Soup Kitchen located in the Southern Part of the City. Every evening, I would make my little walk to this needy place. Once
there, I notice that the volunteers were very friendly and George Pierce is really in charge of the going on around the Kitchen.

They served two meals a day and I might add you can eat all your stomach can take. While in Saint John, The soup Kitchen would serve you one meal a day between 10:00am and 1:00pm! Even poor people do get hungry in the evenings. I might add that
the St-Andrew-St-David Church serves dinner once a month and the place is full of poor people. Many would ask for seconds to bring home.

I remember in the summer of 2003, I read in the paper that Shirley McAlary announced that the opening of the Harbour Passage was a huge success because they gave away 500 to 800 hotdogs!

Excuse me? PEOPLE ARE HUNGRY!!!

Why do some poor families goes hungry in one City while the other is full? That’s the emotional question?

I would soon find out the Shelter and the Soup Kitchen are the area of the less Fortunate. The poor souls can do their little or alcohol around the building. No
one will bother them as long they stay in that area!

Compare to Saint John, this is a good idea. It’s their property and the Police won’t bother anyone.

I would soon find out that the Transit system is very bad in the Capital compare to Saint John. I heard a sad story of a young girl who wanted to have an interview for a job but she couldn’t because she had to wait 3 hours for the next bus! Of course, the attitude must be the same of my shipyard days?

They must say - You take the bus??? What’s wrong with you? Don’t you have any
bureaucratic friends? The bus system is much better in Saint John.

The Food bank in the Capital is located in a high class neighborhood. In Saint John these helpful locations are located in the area of the poor population. In the Capital, the homeless have no place to go so they can escape the cold winter winds.

In Saint John, the Salvation Army has a place where these poor individual can have a coffee or play some pool! Once a person is evicted from a mall? There’s
not too many place a person can go.

The Salvation Army in Saint John would charge $7.50 a night for accommodation compare to the Capital who will take someone free of charge for a few evenings.

In the Capital, if a person is down on their luck, They have to lower their pride and asked the Government for assistance. They have open cubicles at the Family
Services building where everyone can hear your personal business compare to Saint John were these private conversations are done in a private atmosphere!!

I could go on and on.

Yes! We do live in two different Cities and we have our different way of
the matter the poor are too be treated but from the point I see it? It sure looks like we’re living in two different countries!

He was probably there abdacating that if they don't come up with a plan and in a hurry!!! the liberals are going to take over very shortly and both their ferr rides are over!!

I said it before and I will say it again, the Irvings might as well run the Province because they are already doing so but in a very sneaky, lowdown way.

If they were in the forfront they could take the millions that
they get and maybe being the ones taking it all they would show some shame and leave some for the rest of the people who are trying to live in this Province.

But then again you scare me with the Germany thing and all because I can see what the Irvings are doing and its exactly what you
are saying.

I didn't see Irving Oil Refinery, Irving Pulp and Paper-St George,
Irving
Power Plant-St George, IBM Computer Services, Lexi-Tech
International.....you haven't even put a dent in the business that they
own
but I can't think of anymore right now but I will try to think harder.

Well by the looks of their holdings in this province maybe he is there saying I already own everything of any value and all the press so you might as well just forfit the keys to me and my family we'll take over from here.oh and we'll need a few busses to truck out the old, the weak and definitly the poor we can't have these degenerates dipping into the prophets.

Hey Charlie..

Just thought you'd like to know that the lobby of the centenniel
building
was transformed into Moscow Airport on Sunday night...
That crew doing a film on the 1972 Canada/Rrussia hockey series used it
as a
set..
You should have seen it...
Big Russian letters in the wall...a huge mural of Lenin..
Quite a bit of irony there I thought..
Cheers..

They are probably discussing how the Irving family might go about buying up what little we have left useing the outragous prophets they stand to make off of the uh oh her it comes the LNG project.Or maybe he came in person to thank Mr.Lord for his indorsement of the deal that shouldn't have been??

He knows Bernard Lord is all but finished in this province so he has just stopped by to tell him it's been a hell of a ride and to see if there might be some last minute (DEALS) they may be able to swing as they both know once the liberals are back in things won't be so calvelere and this time we won't be so fooled by their (Conservatives)coat of many colours hopefully it will be a very cold day in hell before they ever sit again.I figure at least another generation before they try to lie their way back in..

It's quite simple really,He went to Fredericton to let Mr.Lord know that the Mayor of Saint John made a deal with his family on the LNG Project and so therefore there should not be any further Disruptions in the proceedings from this point foreward..

Hi Charles sorry to hear your preist is ill but he has quite a guardian over his sholder I'm sure he will recover just fine! Also yes you were abit late getting in today but you're forgiven, and I just don't know what to say about the Irving family anymore I can't seem to find a tidbit that hasn't already been said but I guess it goes the rich get richer and the poor keep begging maybe just maybe better days ahead all this doom and gloom has to end somewhere someday - you never know maybe a good ole fashon Election is just what the DR. is suggesting at this point we've nothing else to loose(or to sell off)lol

Looking at most pieces writtin on,in,around, and about this Province seems to have one frightning conclusion of pure pestisism and negitivity,It's like New Brunswickers are experiancing a long dark changing of the guard it doesn't seem to matter what city, town,or village you are talking with or about and I don't see the connection to just a governing power at fault it is lingering very heavily across this great Province and I think that as a collective peoples a desperate change is in order but feel this will not happen until a great unification comes together to acknowledge that very fact and you as a one entity act for change.
May god bless your land and give you that guiding hand.

You know of all the different complaints about this allmighty Irving family I have yet to see a comment looking at this from the other side as If this family is so well known and strong performers for themselves why not vote them into power and would they not then work for you, abide by you and answer to you instead of them being one of you and dictating to the government with their financial power, all the money in the world would do them no good if they worked for you and your interests unless to say the money would only serve to help you as all financial dealings have to be public and approved of publicly in other words it would benifit to have the powerfull work for you then to work against.just food for thought.......

Anonymous said...

Odd point... but it would be difficult to vote the Irvings into power given they don't run for the elections... And honestly, what benefit would it be to the Irvings to be in government. I don't think they are restricted too much in their goings on in the province.

Anonymous said...

Commentator above is right that Irving went to tell Lord do not mess with LNG deal. Lord’s answer “yes sir”. Lord will only ask “how high” if asked by Irving to jump. It is only poor that he stands up to and takes seniors and veterans to court. Louis Robichaud stood up to Irving. We need another Louis and not spineless wimps we have.

Irving in government. Never. They can control government better this way. You will never see Irving running for any office when they already run all the offices. You cannot remove a family like Irving from their privileged position but you can Lord and his government and concentrate on that. Put someone in government who has some courage and ethics.

I hate this city and the way that its run. Saint John of course. I
just read the paper and it reads that property owners beware, the city is coming after more then 900 files and property owners which they do not think passes inspection. So it has already started. The little guy has to
make up for the money that the city of Saint John has given the Billionaire Irvings. I have lost so much respect for everyone in power in this Province right now that I do not know if I will ever get the respect thing back, I know one thing, I AM OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!!!

What is your opinion on needing a passport to enter the USA? It sure
looks
like another money grab. It really is getting ridiculous that is for
sure.
Good Blog yesterday , and its nice reading other concerned citizens
comments as well. I would rather read your blog then the Irving paper
anyday.

You know how much raise Bernard Lord gave to his MLA’s last year 100% to 150%. MLA’s salary was already above $50,000. How much raise in social assistance in 8 years 2%. That is how much Lord government cares for poor. Poor were getting $360 a month or little over $4000 annually.

Anonymous said...

Please don't give Lord any unjust credit I think you meant to say 260.00??

Anonymous said...

My opinion on the passport question someone answered:

Money grab? It's the American government that wants you to show a passport, and the Canadian government that collects fees for passports. Are you saying the American government wants to see passports because they want to help other governments around the world collect passport fees? I think it's obvious the Americans have become stricter about entry since 9/11, for security reasons.

The Canadian government charges fees for passports to cover the cost of the passport offices. I think it's a good thing: let international travelers pay the cost of passports, not regular taxpayers. For most people, travel is either a luxury, in which case they can afford the fees, or a business expense, in which case they can claim a tax deduction...

Yes the social assistance is $260 a month and not $360 and Bernard Lord gave whopping 2% raise. Creep!!!!

Another Irving owned company which you never included is the WORK READY
REHABILITATION. If you are on WHSCC and you are an Irving Employee you
have to go to this place. They do your work assessments and decide
when
you return to work. This is very unfair because my husband is an
Irving
Injured Worker and because of their assessment he was deemed to work 20
hrs
a week at mimimum wage which they took this amount from my husbands
paycheck. My husband cannot return to work and he is also receiving
Canada
Pension(Disability). I personally do not feel that this practice
happens
in any other Province but ours. Every letter ever written by any of my
husbands many Doctors have all said that he could not return to work
but
the Irvings & the Government think that he can. What can a person do
except appeal! An appeal can take more then a year and you can only
bring
one issue at a time to these appeals and believe me a person on WHSCC
has
alot more then one issue to talk about. But I say Never give up and
keep
on appealling.

Anonymous said...

That is exactly the way the Irvings want it to be they figure that by the time you can get anyone to listen to you will be like the lord government/After the funeral.
