TIM SMITH JOINS NEW BRUNSWICK'S LARGEST BLOGSITE

We would like to welcome Tim Smith to our blog as
a guest blogger (WCIE & Charles Leblanc)

May 4-2005-T& C-6

I would like to announce that I have been invited to blog along side of Charles on this blogsite.

I am looking forward to adding a few of my views and opinions also some interesting stories from local people’s perspectives on the issues of the day.

I would like to thank the WCIE (White Collar Irving Employee) and Charlie for asking me to join them in this adventure.

I will be giving my views on more than the issue of VLT’s on this site but will concentrate on Video Lottery more so than the other topics just as Charlie does with the issue of Ritalin and ADD/ADHD.

Congratulations with new partnership. Charles did not want any competition. How would it work though? Charles will post something then Tim will post something.

What do you guys think of Bernard Lord paying $3 million in tuition fee to St. Thomas U to get his Honorary degree. Tax payers $3 million. First it was Irving giving to Journalism school and now Lord his tuition fee to build a building of some sort. Where is the independence of University? Current President of STU is expansionist and will acquire funds by any means he can.

Your views on tuition fee of $3 million and other issues related to St. Thomas U will be appreciated.

But WE WILL GIVE IT A GOOD HARD ACTIVIST TRY!!!!!..lol...As for the Tuition fee? I really don't have any comments < first time > because I truly don't understand the issue. Bernurd Lord is refusing to sign a childcare deal worth $100 million and gas-tax rebate worth $116 million with Feds saying he needs more flexibility to spend that money. We know what ‘flexibility’ means. He is saying “ I have screwed up the province real bad and I have no hope to win next election so please, please let me buy votes with $216 million”. I do not know about you folks but it makes me very sick that how this fool continues to mess things up.

Children need that money and municipalities need gas-tax funds but Lord’s politics is getting in the way. He wants to shows federal Conservatives that he is their obedient lapdog by creating problems in this manner. Also he wants to be leader of national Conservative party and New Brunswickers take backseat for his maneuvering for personal gain.

That would be great to see I believe his views will show both sides of the debates as evenly distributed.

You said you do not know much about B. Lord receiving honorary doctorate degree from STU and St. Thomas U receiving $3 million in grants.

This Spring Mr. Lord was granted that honorary degree by STU. Someone commented that this guy does not deserve any honorary degree and is STU want some grants from him. And lo and behold Lord announced $3 million grant for STU. Is this coincidence, you be the judge.

The provincial government has given huge wads of cash to UNB and UdeM recently, including for building projects. It was STU's turn!
