Wow, something we can agree on. ATV screwed up on this one big time just as they have with many of the others who have fled the station. Kudos to Global for snatching her up. Jackie does a great job and for anyone who has had the privilige of meeting her, she is just as she seems on TV, caring and compassionate.
Spinks, first CBC was pits and CTV was great. Now CTV is pits and Global is great and you say you do not flip flop. Is this not self-rightous and delusional attitude that you are always right and others are wrong including CBC and now CTV. What have you to say now? More semantics??? Please spare us from your meaningless semantics.
This is no relfection on Jackie. I do not know her and most probably she is great.
Boy tough to have an opinion around here even on a congratulations note. Once again someone decides to put words in my mouth. I never said ATV was the pits. 330,000 viewers a night say the same thing unlike the 6,000 which tune in to CBC NB. What I am saying is that ATV gave up a great reporter as they have several others in recent years due to their cost-cutting ways and making everyone outside of Halifax carry their own camera. Besides Jacqueline there have been Connell Smith, Laverne Stewart, Paul Greene, Kate Letterick, and Alex Vass to name a few just in N.B. in the past few years. When you lose all of your veterans in a short period of time it affects the way the news is told because the new reporters don't have the sense of history which helps in telling the news. Global was wise to snatch Ms. Foster. ATV should have tried to keep her along with the others. Their loss is Global's gain IMHO. She is a welcome addition whom I have always found presents the news fairly and professionally.
