Isn't this what the Anglo Society keeps saying? Maybe they're onto something.

Not totally true. Lord is bringing in something. Look at this news. It may be polluted garbage but he is bringing it in anyway:

Environmentalists worry sludge from tar pond coming to N.B.
Bennett Environmental denies it will receive much material from notorious Sydney site

By Chris Morris
Canadian Press

FREDERICTON - Environmental groups in the Maritimes are concerned a new incinerator in New Brunswick could end up treating toxic sludge from the Sydney tar ponds in Nova Scotia.

That's pretty gross if it's true. Which one is telling the truth though? Seems to still be a rumour according to the story.

Go to your local gas station today to see what an unsubstantiated rumour can do. Long line-ups because gas is supposed to hit $1.80 a litre today. The oil companies say that's not true so I'll be curious what the price is tomorrow. If it is $1.80 the oil companies have blatantly lied. If it isn't up substantially, it just shows what rumours will do. It's gridlock at the stations a la late 1970's.

Unsubstantiated rumours, Spinks? As of this moment, gas is retailing at $1.945 per litre in Fredericton.

Spinks said...

Wow!!!! Haven't been out for a few hours. Okay, the oil companies are liars. UNBELIEVABLE, and this is before Rita hits. That is insane, out of control and gouging.

Two things, first, the Sydney tar ponds are using a mobile incinerator.
However, second, the Bennett plant is designed specifically for stuff like this, they've got no customers as of yet, but that could change and we WILL see PCB's and other toxins coming into Belledune. So there may be good news for the port in Belledune-more ships! (yes that's sarcasm)

Price isn't going up...it's just a rumuor...heard it on 92.3 Fred Fm!!!!

As far as Quebecers running this country, they have been doing that for years. the house of Commons is full of them and any real paying position in the local government is occupied by either someone who is either french by name and birth or someone who speaks the language and cuddles up to that mentality.

I beleive that they need to realize that we all have a stake in this great Nation, and not just the french but all of Canadas people have something to either gain or loose by what is happening.

I have very good reason to beleive that the Oil producing nations of the World are just using this lame brain excuse not only to con, but also to gouge the Customer. These Oil producing nations are not paying a great deal of money to produce their product whatsoever, They just want you to think that and so they will use some kind of foolish garbage line that oh, it is the War in Iraq, or these Hurricains that are causing Our heating bills or, Gas prices to skyrocket so high. It is just another tacktic to turn the Developed Nations into that of Third World nations and making us worse off than they are. The Problem is that you have most of the World's oil supply in the hands of "Islamic countries", and they can hold most of the world at ransom because they are not obligated to sell to anyone who is not muslim, and if they do they can Gouge the western nations bigtime is they want to and no one is willing to stand up to them because their pockets are being lined and feathered with millions of dollars.

Anonymous - where were you buying gas at 1:46?

Anonymous said...

Do the big oil companies like Irving, Texaco adn others anything to do with it. They make killings many times over. The gas you are buying now at the pump may be was bought as a crude may be 5 years ago at $30 a barrel. Do not let the big corporations off the hook that easy.

Spinks said...

Okay, obviously I'm skeptical and questions things for good reason. What station were you at 1:46pm or did you simply repeat the rumour. If you were at a station and saw this I'm curious.

Here's the story on radio now.

"It's a hoax folks.

Rumours of gas prices soaring to over two dollars a litre in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick aren't true.

The unsubstantiated reports triggered long lineups at gas stations throughout Halifax this morning.

Steve Ecclestone, a general manager of Ultramar, says the wholesale price of gas has crept up slightly but the price at the pumps is holding for now. "

There we go again. Diversions. Discussion is not about gas prices but exodus from NB plus highly toxic material coming to Belledune. That is no rumour. That was in your favourite Irving paper.

Anonymous said...

Sounds like hurricane Bernie that people evacuating NB.

Anonymous said...

Hurricane Bernie, that's a good one!-Total distruction and devistation within his path, and yes everthing he touches Yep! sounds about right to me!

Spinks said...

No diversion. When someone (you?) posts that gas is selling at $194.5 a litre, it sparks mine and other people's interest too. That's big news, obviously, since it led last night's TV newscasts.

Anonymous said...

You started the gas stuff and that all what was posted was rumours. By the way it was not totally rumour. In Ontario it actually went up to $1.79 per litre in a certain location. However it was off the topic.

You have such a condescending attitude & approach that you keep correcting and reprimanding us all. I hope you realize it and get over it.

Anonymous said...

anonymous 12:17 spinks has you on this one. he didn't bring up 194.5 someone else did. why don't you knock off fighting spinks, dude? i don't like reading you doing that and no one else does. write something intelligent as an argument to spinks or don't bother.

Anonymous said...

How do we know you are not Spinks?, anonymous 6:19 PM. That is the pattern when there is no proper answer then posts start appearing anonymous on behalf of Spinks. He got nobody on nothing.

Anonymous said...

Hello there 6:19 PM.

Look at 1:25 PM. post. Spinks started the gas problem and used that to say that news of hazardous material coming to Belledune was rumour too. So he had the gas problem and that is how it all started. There is no post before that talking about gas.

Anonymous said...

Very interesting. That is exactly the response to Spinks by many, that he lives on some other planet and has nothing intelligent to say.

I am 12:17 PM. Once Spinks stops condescending approach he will be left alone. Right now he gives the impression that he is God given gift to the this site and humanity. No one likes smart Aleck.

Anonymous said...

i don't find you guys any better for the smart aleck comments. i'm just tired of reading spinks is this or spinks is that. i donn't find him as important as you do and you are wrong, he didn't write gas was 194.5. i would ask somebody about it too like others did

Anonymous said...

Not true about Ontario gas either, in Toronto it was 101, and in Ottawa it was 103.

Anonymous said...

There was a certain location in Ontario where gas was $1.79 a liter. It was on CTV national news.

Regarding Spinks, he complains that people are not complimentary to Lord on this site. Why does he not start his own site: "I love Lord" or " I am in love with Lord" Or " Bernard Lord is my hero" instead of reprimanding people here.

It is just that he is boring, inconsistent and too condescending at times. Gives lot of misinformation which needs to be corrected. Then he brags that he is enlightening us all. Your advice is good. May be we should ignore the fellow.

Some guy went head to head with Spinks over Chinese issue and they had well over 200 posts. I think that was crazy. Someone was taking Spinks too seriously at the time.
