BERNARD LORD AND LANDLORDS SIDE BY SIDE????

Hoot-poor

I received this little comment this morning

This by-election is out of control as far as the lord side goes.

They have gone WWAAYY overboard on the legal amount allowed to spend.

Michelle said yesterday on the radio debate that she understands the working poor because she was in the category but on the television debate she was bragging that she was a very successful business woman at age 18 i think it was.

Also the bullying going on in the south end is rediculus one store was constantly harrassed because he had a liberal poster in his window.

It got so bad that he took it out but not from his customers this was business suits complaining also I had different people ask if their landlord is allowed to ask them NOT to put a liberal poster in their own apt window????

The owners do not even live in the riding.

This action has really baffled a few tenants in the riding.

Democracy for the poor Families in Saint John Harbour? I don't think so!!!!

Charles; Take my name off your list until you stop this nonsense of writing stuff that is not true. Either you or your informants are not telling the truth, and I don't need that.

If I take you off the list? How can I send you my columns for the River Valley News? Not true? you mean this story? The individual don't usually lie?

Dianne, please dry your tears, like your boss you’re crying a little too late.
(I don't need that???) There's the understatement of this by-election

We the people do not need Mr. Lord's
Lies any longer.

If you can't handle the truth about your so called leader then leave your computer, radio, and television off until after the by-election.

If it's fantasy your after then by all means keep reading the Telegraph Journal since the only true friend Mr.Lord seems to have is the Irving Empire.

His time is coming to an end and as far as Charlie’s so called half truths, I can tell you strait up that there are indeed Landlords telling tenants NOT to put election posters in their windows in the south end.

Which I think is absolutely ridiculous considering they do not even live in this riding.
Two different people approached me to ask if this was legal.

I also know the storeowner personally and he told me the pestering from people (that are not identifiable customers) to remove the Liberal poster from his window was so bad that he had no choice but to remove it.

Finally I was at the Television Debate and Mrs.Hooton did indeed tell the audience that she was a successful businesswoman by age 18.

And then identified herself as a part of the working poor group back in the day, on the radio debate yesterday.
She said she understood the perils of their concerns because she suffered the same struggle.

Which sounds about the same as her story on the LNG deal.

Which side of the tracks did she travel??????

Will be anxiously awaiting your reply.

I was wondering why I haven’t seen your name a lot sooner than this.

But then I thought to my self well although she is a conservative party member,

There are times when she seems to have a good head on her shoulders and to be a wise person in her outlook.

But then you come through with a ridiculous criticism such as the one above.

You well know this By-election has become no more than a last ditch effort for Mr. Lord to buy the votes to impress no one else but his image in the mirror.

It is also a fact that he is over spending on this by-election there is no way he is only spending 3.60 per person which I think is the allowable.

If this were true he would have blown the whole budget on the 12pt coated both sides stock and in full color he has been putting in our mailboxes
Not to mention the thousands of door knob hangers which are also in full color and that does not include radio spots, newspaper advertising and so on and so forth.

This is a fact as I was in the printing business for many many years and the cost of those types of stock are through the roof these days that’s why most flyers and done on bleached recycled bond paper.

Lastly let me ask you, when was the last time a premier has promised so much spending and or already spent the amount of money Mr. Lord seems to have found in a purse of a province that is close to collapse.
Along with having 90% of his cabinet in Saint John, all for about 15000 people, in a small corner of Saint John N.B of which he hasn’t even made an appearance since I don’t know when.

Good point Tim, Sounds like a desperate act to me.

I Gotta tell ya!!
Mr. Lord has one large money pocket
Along with the things listed above lets now add Buttons,Pins oh and a supper all bought and payed for at the Community Centre in South End of Saint John yet this summer when he was here he wouldn't allow the poor to attend his big burger to do at Fort LeTour it was for brass only!!
I cincerely hope there is a watchdog looking over this by-election because this has gotten way out of hand with the never ending spending.

Hey you can add balloons to that list too. I was just passing by King Edward School where the supper is being held and they're giving the kids conservative Balloons
The Guests are Michelle Hooton And Bernard Lord who will also talk at the dinner.it's from 5pm til 7pm.And the poor are all lining up for the free meal.

I hope these poor do not vote for him because Bernie is looking for free ticket himself. His meal ticket costs in millions.

PREVIOUSLY BLOGGED IN ANOTHER POST:

OK, this is really starting to bug me. I get the latest Hooton brochure passed to me, two versions of this brochure, one for the South End of Saint John and one for the West Side. These are very expensive brochures. But the real kicker is this: These brochures were printed in Moncton.... MacDougal Settlement to be exact. So this is the candidate who says that she is committed to small businesses in the riding? This is outrageous! We have printers in this riding that could have benefited from this cash input. Why do the Tories insist, even now, to not support local businesses in Saint John. This makes me sick. Same old story from the Tory Party. I mean, Hooton must have a lot of pull in this Party. Right! I'm sure. It is her Campaign. Her name and picture are on the brochure... She ultimately is responsible... or is utterly submissive to the Party. Another local "yes, Mr. Lord" Tory. Business as usual.
Charles, you should investigate this!

I'm and NDP'er and I tried to go to that "COMMUNITY" supper tonight and we got turned away! I think the same thing happened to some Liberals.

Ralph Hooten and her campaign manager, I think, blatantly told us that this was a Tory event and we weren't invited, after they sent propaganda everywhere that everyone was invited. BULL! They were even giving out DVDs and bikes to kids! Their trying to buy off kids to get votes! This is pathetic.

Plus, that piece of paper promoting this supper was not approved from by Hooton or the Tory's official agent. This is illegal! If they admit that this is a Tory event, then any promotion should be reported as an election campaign expense (and prizes given within)!

And her buttons are from her municipal campaign, but they still need to be counted (as an expense - their value) in this campaign if they are being used.

This is making me so sick. Even the Liberals, when they were in power, would never stoop this low!

The Tories have to be accountable. Please, somebody, anybody, have the Chief Electoral Officer investigate her campaign expenses!!!! PLLEEAAAASSSSSEEEEE!!

Hooton has NEVER been poor compared to those in the riding she's running for! Please! Her words are so transparent!

Most of the stuff here I"m not surprised by, politics is a nasty business. If you know somebody in the riding, get out and talk to them and make sure they vote. NB is clearly sinking but there are still a very few business people getting rich, so the election is literally a testing ground to see whether an electorate can be 'advertised into support'. I guess it's too late but somebody should have set up a blog JUST for election stuff then handed out flyers for all the people in the riding, we should remember that next time.

But as somebody who has run for office before I do know that buttons, signs, and flyers are DIRT cheap-haven't you been to a dollar store lately? There are third world slaves just churning out cheap crap all the time. I had started making my own signs thinking they were too expensive til I foound some sites online and some big american companies that put this stuff out incredibly cheap. Keep THAT in mind the next election if you think of running.
