I strongly believe enough is enough this is nowhere near a full blown Provincial election and someone from the top MUST shout time-out or foul on what is taking place with this Government.

Who are we voting for here??????????? it certainly is NOT bernard lord but it definitly seems as though we are!!!!

This is true,I thought this was a by-election,Why has bernard lord taken up residence in Saint John??

Mr. Lord by means bye-bye.

OK, this is really starting to bug me. I get the latest Hooton brochure passed to me, two versions of this brochure, one for the South End of Saint John and one for the West Side. These are very expensive brochures. But the real kicker is this: These brochures were printed in Moncton.... MacDougal Settlement to be exact. So this is the candidate who says that she is committed to small businesses in the riding? This is outrageous! We have printers in this riding that could have benefited from this cash input. Why do the Tories insist, even now, to not support local businesses in Saint John. This makes me sick. Same old story from the Tory Party. I mean, Hooton must have a lot of pull in this Party. Right! I'm sure. It is her Campaign. Her name and picture are on the brochure... She ultimately is responsible... or is utterly submissive to the Party. Another local "yes, Mr. Lord" Tory. Business as usual.
Charles, you should investigate this!

The real interesting thing to find out would be how much did she have to pay for those brochures. If they were more or equal in price to SJ Printers, I'd be curious as to why her people went that route. But if they were cheaper, then hey SJ Printers, be competitive so Moncton doesn't steal anymore of your business. I'm sure everyone here doesn't like paying more than they have to and would go the cheapest route for the same product. Anyway I don't know which scenario it is but perhaps one of the reporters who drop by here can check it out.

Ladies and Gents unless your from right here in this riding your only scratching the tip of the iceburg.

Those and many more questions are starting to be asked at top speed.

I'll tell you this, tomorrows Talk Of The Town promises to be one hell of a exciting show.

I hope Mr.Lord and Mrs.Hooten are able to explain why they attended a supper in the south end community centre put on by none other than a cristian group.

The food was being cooked outside on the steps on 3 large BBQs to put the smell out there for the wee one's. but here's the catch,

//The parents had to take their kids inside and sit them down in order to recieve the free food and drinks along with being eledgible for the door prizes.

Each kid got a conservative Balloon and some got pins or badges to take inside with them, now you work on the rest of this story in your mind and give your comment as you see fit.

I'll stick to my statement I made to Mr.Lord yesterday at the opening of Mrs.Weir's office.

When I asked Mr.Lord how it felt to create a job for the opposition to literaly try and steal the working poor and the poor peoples votes.

6:13 can you post a comment showing what the difference is between the south end version verses the westside one it would be greatly appreiciated as this would more than show there were two layouts which means two seperate jobs in the printing business
Thanks alot.

I'm not clear Tim. Was this an election rally by a group supporting Hooton or was Hooton merely renting out the space or was this something else? If it was a rally, there's nothing wrong with that. The Liberals and NDP do the same thing. Any of these I've been to, you can refuse the balloons and pins and still grab a burger. Obviously someone is going to give you a pin and want you to wear it though. That's the purpose of the rally, to generate excitement for whoever the candidate is. Was this event something else?

During 2003 election Bernard Lord operatives threatened certain citizens with arrests if they tried to attend a certain rally. It was a campaign rally. Lord and operatives are paranoid and afraid of people.

As long as a person is respectful anyone should be able to go to any rally. With that being said, if you show up at a Conservative, Liberal, or NDP Campaign rally and want to go inside to the building they've rented with protest signs and yelling, you're obviously not there to be respectful, you're there to make a political statement usually for the person's opponents. I don't know if that was the case but that's the type of situation which wouldn't be respectful no matter who the candidate is or who the party is. Now if you want to stand outside with a protest sign, hey go for it. When Tim was at Lord's apperance in Saint John, that's the right way to protest. Although Tim's Liberal shirt might have been a little over the top. On TV, it made the protest look like a bunch of Liberals got together to protest although I docubt that's how it looked to people who were there, but hey anyone who has met Tim knows he wears his heart on his sleeve and the Liberal Party on his shirt. I for one have to respect his fortitude.

These were harmless concerned citizens, concerned about services for special need children. I understand they were mothers. No one was disrespectful. There are too many incidents where Lord and handlers have cut public out. It is well known fact.

A good leader will meet even shouting people to hear their concerns. Bernard Lord does not have the guts or fortitude to do that.

Spinks said...

I guess I'm not clear about the concern given the above anonymous and Tim's comments. Were these mothers and their kids not allowed in or were they allowed in but given Tory buttons and balloons in addition to the BBQ?

Threatened with arrest. Bernard Lord only wanted those who will clap the loudest and longest.

I hear they were giving away bikes and dvd players to kids. Talk about buying votes.

jwmcg - Hooton's committment to have funding subsidy caps lifted on the refurbishment of Heritage Properties in Uptown Saint John would benefit her greatly!
Her own place is a hertitage home along with some of the other buildings she & her husband bought. They bought & then booted out existing tenants to refurbish & then charge more rent.

A good business opportunity for them? Possibly. But defintely no thought whatsoever as to how she affected the lives of the ones she evicted.

Don't vote PC or a want a be PC like Hooton. Have the guts to step up and back Dr. Doherty.

He is a good peron and will understand the people.

Michelle Hooton is an opportunist at her finest and you see what you get. She promise the world for a seat and Premier Lord will also buy the seat or attempt to buy the seat. Don't let him push you around; let him do all the so called great things with your money which he should of been doing but nothing will change even after all thes announcements.

We will still pay too much for necessities and he won't lower the HST, rise the minimum wage, keep St Joseph's Hospital fully operation, and won't help seniors when right now they lose their income if they need to be put in a home and their families lose what they rightly should keep. People exposed to agent orange some live in Saint John they won't receive anything, step before they are dead. Social assistance is too low who can live on that. Rebate for oil is an insult. Where are the regular middle class people and their families going to see the money in their pockeys. High gas prices, car insurance, power rates, food, clothing, HST and GST on everything. We want relief now, Irving received his tax break for 25 years and he is a billionaire we want ours now we can't pay his taxes too. Fedup of Lord and Hooton helping their Corporate friends.. Yes it is going to take more a barbeque, bikes, ballons, feww hundreds of $$$ here and there and promises to be broken. Ww'll take the money and run and support DR. Doherty.

Give Hooton the Booton, yes they over spent on the byelection but we can't be bought. We will still see people on the streets desperate, people at the food banks and people losing their jobs and homes. We can't afford Lord Orimulson fiasco and we are going to take it any more.

Don't know JWCMQ, you'd have to ask Lord. If it were me I'd invite all of the councillors. That's a courtesy thing in my book but whyb they didn't if they didn't? Don't ask me, I don't know.

Hey Bernard Lord forbids those from his presence who will not sing his praises. The man is a narcissist and gutless.

Anonymous said...

Bottom line Lord will not help the average ordinary people or the have nots that keep complaining. His words not mine.
Premier we wouldnot have to complain if you would share the money with all people not just your weathy friends.

Give Hooton the Booton.

Vote Dr. Doherty.
