I remember during my protest, Tanker Malley was always a strong supporter of my cause.
I told Tanker – Hey? If you’re such as strong supporter for the kids? Why don’t you march into the Premier’s office and bang your fist on his desk and say - If you don’t do a study on Ritalin? I’m crossing the floor!!!!!!!
I can see the headling now- LORD GOVERNMENT IS DEFEATED BECAUSE OF RITALIN!!!

Bernard Lord got slaughtered in Saint John and this is just the beginning of the end of the P.C. Party in New Brunswick.
It will be like Brian Buloney. It will take years to rebuilt because they both have the same attitude.
They are totally ignorant to the wishes of the people.
During the next few weeks, if a P.C. MLA would cross the floor?
He or she would become an instant hero to the people in their riding and New Brunswick.
They would be guaranteed a post in the future Liberal Cabinet.
I might add they would be re-elected for years to come because they have prove they listened to the wish of New Brunswickers.
After the last Provincial election many workers from the P.C. Party blamed the issue of insurance for their lost of seats.
They strongly believe if they settle that issue that everything would be ok.
Well? After the huge defeat in Saint John?
Everything is definitively not Ok!
In my view? If someone cross the floor and joined the Liberals? They would become an instant hero for life!
Can you imagine two elections at the same time? This would drive the voters nuts!
If you believe Saint John Harbour was bad? This would be the top of list and it would be a part of history that New Brunswickers would remember forever and ever!

11:29 is right, Peter Trites bailed from the NDP to the Liberals after less than a year. I have to be honest I think that's a bad idea. If a politician wants to change parties, do it at election time. The voters put the person in with a particular party. Some voters don't care about the party but lots do and to make a switch without the voter's consent is disrespectful of the process.

Charles, you are a loud mouthed activist and you know it! That's what makes this blogsite so great. You've even got your own team of 'charles haters' who still take the time to come here, that's when you know you're a real voice.
I would have said similar one sided statements before the by elections, however, it is clear that Lord is sinking fast and doesn't care. No doubt he'll have a nice cushy lawyer job waiting for him back in Quebec.
The last election was too close to call, so crossing the floor would be a VERY chancey move. The stakes are so high that you are right, it would be national news and people in their riding may or may not like it too much. I remember a joke one time, perhaps here, where Jody Carr was at a barbecue and mentioned that he'd look better in red. My dad is a diehard liberal but he still votes for Jody. If they did have that platform that gave them the excuse to walk in and say that to the premier, I think they'd get whatever they wanted-which just goes to show you just how toady like politicians really are.
And don't worry about the laughter Charles, there are posts here that always makes me laugh when I wonder why people waste their time at sites they don't like, but it's never yours.

Lets not forget it was(((Mr.Lord))) who just a couple of days ago said very firmly that the Liberals are fear mongering over the daycare package.
He said it doesn't matter if this deal is signed before or after friday as it has absolutly nothing to do with whether or not the Federal Government falls or not.
So he insists he will continue to hold out for the best overall deal.
Now all of a sudden with less than 24hrs to go all of a sudden he's miraculously had a change of heart??????????
I don't think so...He knows very well this would definitly be the garanteed back breaker of his and his party's careers if this was to slip through his fingers out of pure stupidity and self erragance.
He has basicly dambed himself either was because if he didn't sign he would have surely lost this deal and now that he will sign he has proven that he can hold out no longer and must now conceed his true purpose was nothing more than playing politics with the Children,Parents and Daycares of New Brunswick.
Which in turn, once again proves that Mr.Lord has no idea how to handle the job of running the Province of New Brunswick's business or purse.
And also at most of what he tries is from the cuff and at best a guess that it will err in his favour.
The Vision that once stirred his eagerness to get involved and help the people of this Province has long sence gone the way of his career.--OverBoard with Mr.Lord!
He knew this was Federal was coming, He Held out and got New Brunswick the best deal.

Dryden has in the past suggested that parents who keep their very young children at home are like those who refuse to bring their children to a doctor when they are sick. I think we know where Ken sits on this one.
