WHY DON'T THEY CHANGE THE GUNNINGSVILLE BRIDGE TO A WALKING BRIDGE????

I Everyone in the Moncton will never forget their first drive in the Gunningsville Bridge.

If you survived this ride then you can call yourself a driver…..lol…..

So? They opened a new bridge across the yucky Petitcodiac River.

Too bad the Causeway had destroyed the area. Moncton is nice a pretty place to live because there’s no view.

Can you imagine living in that area 40 years ago and watch the tidal bore riding across the giant Petitcodiac River?

I remember the bore and it was pretty.

But no more. The Tidal bore is dead because of the Causeay.

So I heard that this bridge will be destroyed in the spring?

I got a question?

Why don’t the citizens in that area follow the same action as Fredericton?

They turned the old train bridge to a nice walking bridge.

Of course, the citizens has the beautiful Saint John River to walked over and can make a stopover to enjoy the view.

The people in the Moncton Area only have Mud!!!

It’s sad but it could be an added attraction to that area if they turned the old Gunningsville Bridge to a walking bridge just like they did in the Capital.

What do you think???

Funny. I asked myself the same thing. But since I moved to Moncton from Fredericton, I noticed people here have very different goal and point of view.

Wish I was under Fredericton sun right now. :)

Charlie:

You used to be able to fly fish for salmon right down town in Moncton.

Now all you get is Turds! If you are lucky. LOL.

Heavens Yes, I remember those days as well, the latter have all gone up to Fredericton where they all belong, and are no longer here in the French Riviera of the Maritimes.

Structurally, the bridge is not safe. Anybody that goes and take a walk on it right now will realize it's not salvagable at this point. It's in REALLY bad shape. I've seen tons of abandonned places. This bridge is really bad.
It's obviously too late to save it.
As far as the river goes, River will be restored before 2008 so tidal bore will be back soon.
