He can do all the jumping he wants but he will fall flat in Ottawa river or Rideau canal. To fool NBers is one thing but to fool the whole nation is not going to be easy.

He is not only jumping to Ottawa he is aiming for 24 Sussex Drive to become Prime Minister. Good one. Dream on Bernie.

As long as shawn doesn't become leader then that is alright but shawn graham is a joke

The way Bernie's a** got whipped in Saint John he is going nowhere but down. Down in the sewers where he belongs in the first place.

Hey just for the record how many times in the last 30 years has the governing side won there by-election after governing for 6 years??? that's right 00000000 that's right so look it up if you want then you will see. Liberals are losers and need to get off the power hungry trip they are on. SHawn needs to get a life and learn how to say nu-cl-ear and why wont' he call a leadership review? there are a lot of ppl in his cacus who want it to be called.

In Saint John it was humiliating defeat. Demolished. One year planning, star candidate, surprise , surprise by-election, $50M and more of promises, all went down the drain. So did Bernie's future and ambitions. This is just the beginnig to his end. Bye, Bye.

the only thing that should be humiliating is shawn graham as leader of the Liberal party. Now that is what i would call humiliating to me. What a joke, to even think that he could be premier is a total wash down the drain. At least the premier gave Saint John $50 million in funding the liberals neglected them for years and now say that they would fund all of these projects? The same people that use to be in the Mckenna cabinet are there now and they never brought anything to SJ before so why should N.B. believe them now?

Bernie Screwed this province really bad, Orimulsion, butchering of healthcare, not signing childcare agreement and gas tax rebate, now he needs to screw the country. God forbid. Bernie is done. Peope have spoken. They do not want him.

I wonder if Bernie is doing commercials on the side to help fund his run for Scary Harpers job??

The next time you see the Irving Oil commercial with the Hampsters under the hood, listen real close to the narrator.

He sounds just like his Lordship! LOL.

Does anybody know where 80% of the funding of the "Orimulsion fiasco" went into ?? How about upgrading Colson Cove to be the cleanest burning plant in North America... How about the Liberals let SJ breathe in Dirty air for all of there 12 years and never once did an upgrade to COlson COve. Not one shame on the liberals

Excuses, excuses. Those improvements were made to burn Orimulsion which never arrived. Now NBPower is in a hole for over $3 billion. We will be paying through our noses in higer power rates.

He can't make the jump, that's what made the bye-election so important to him. If he'd won he could've taken a shot at a federal seat, allow a new PC leader and premier to have a one-seat majority. Now, if he leaves provincial politics his party will be plunged into an election even before they elect a new leader, because without him, they're tied with the Liberals and can't pass anything through the Leg.

They can pass anything money through the house, think about it speaker always sides with government on money bills. That's the procedure of the legislature and the only way to topple government is on money bill and therefore they cannot

They can pass things now, because all votes will be tied (when Frank Branch and Larry Kennedy bother to show up, that is), and yes, the Speaker will vote with the government. But if Lord leaves, and the Liberals all show up, the Tories won't have enough votes to tie them. They can't pass money bills, or any other bills, for that matter. Therefore, Lord cannot leave for federal politics, and neither can anyone else. They'd be screwing their party.

He cannot. If he leaves then there will be 26 PCs and 27 Liberals on the floor. Speaker can only tie the vote. Government can be easily defeated. However, if there is a by-election in Moncton to fill Bernie's seat then ball game is over for P.C's. Liberals win and it will be Liberals 28 and Conservatives 27.

Agreed but why would Lord leave. He is doing a good job here in N.B. so I don't want to see him leave that would be what us undecided voters call Black Monday if shawn gets in as premier.

Bernard Lord lost it with voters. He really has no chance to win next election no matter who is the leader of Liberal party. Writing is on the wall.
