She looks a senior and she took a vacation or two at riviera at the public expense. What vehicle she drives at public expense? She is the one who made trips to Paris, France.
I have been a Conservative Party member and supporter most of my 58 years on this earth.
Thankfully and humbly, I will be in a situation financially, the older I get, I will not be a Tax Burden to members of the tax paying public.
However, having said all that, I must Vocally Express my frustration, a cetain level of anger, and Embarassement as to How the Bernard Lord Governmnet in my Opinion Only, Is Not treating our Senior Citizens with the Dignity that they so rightly deserve.
I lately have been shunned by other Party Members for stating what I have said, regarding this matter and have posted here. Maybe I'll be excommunicated from the Party, " Boy that would be a real shame wouldn't it "
Bernard, stop taking care of those you take to the Big Gulch and start taking Proper Care Of Our Senior Citizens .
Minister's comments were cruel, insensitive and typical
This is an open letter to Joan MacAlpine Stiles, Minister of Family and Community Services.
How dare you make a statement that residents in nursing homes may like to have a Cadillac or a trip to the Riviera.
Nursing home patients, not residents, are assessed by your single entry system and they must be a level three and four (this is total 24-hour care), in order to qualify to enter a nursing home.
Your government has done studies which has indicated that nursing home residents need a minimum of 3.5 hours of care per day and your government has refused to implement adequate care for these old, sick, frail individuals.
Nursing home patients want to be able to go to the toilet when they need to. They don't want a diaper.
Bedridden patients would like to get out of bed every day and sit in a chair.
They want to be taken for a walk or go outdoors. They want a complete shower or bath more than once a week.
Please get off your new comfortable $1,400 seat in the legislature (that the seniors have paid for through taxes) and come and sit 14 hours in an old wheelchair, with a restraint belt around you, and try to get to the toilet when you need to go. This way, you would see that these wheelchairs are not Cadillac's, and being a patient in a nursing home without adequate care, is not a trip to the Riviera.
Your government is indirectly abusing our seniors in nursing homes through neglect.
Your comments were cruel, insensitive and typical of this government. You don't deserve to represent the people in this province.

How do seniors feel about that? Seniors who are not receiving proper care. Does Lord Government and his Ministers care? Shame. Shocking.
