This in my opinion is one of the Very Best articles you have posted on your site :

Personally I think, this is the only way to truly let your employer truly know, that you are not just goofing off, and pulling a case of the so-called Blue Flu.

You are paid for a day's wages, and if you're not there to work, then you should be Docked a day's Wages.

You should at leat even try to make it into work, whether it be Rain, Sleet, Hail or Massive Snow Storm.

Even if a Company doesn't supply a Flu Shot for their employee's, it should be Your Responsiblity to go out and pay for one, Yourself.

This is why so many business operations have gone to Countries like China and Taiwan, and so forth. They are so dedicated to their employee's, they even show up for work while being sick.

Canadian workers should be doing the same. Besides the Irving organization, is one of the Very Best Companies I have ever worked for.

And I even have a company sign posted in out Front Family Room.

A Very Proud Irving Employee And Supporter. And I can't wait for the LNG Terminal to really get going full steam ahead, and can't wait for the building to start of the LNG Pipeline to be built, even if it does indeed, go right through the Middle of Rockwood Park.

So What ?

Sounds like more of a brain washed Irving employee!!!!!! 4:34 PM "

I do not have any respect for anybody who hides behide an Anonymous Nick like yourself 4:34 PM.

My name is Mr. Herbert Walker, and I've been employed by the Irving organizaton going on 26 years this coming January 15 th, 06.

I can honestly say and state, I have been treated with the Highest level of Support and dignity by the Irving Organization during those soon to be 26 years, even when I was battling my bout with Alcoholism, for 5 years.

This great organization helped me get the Treatment and Counselling Needed, to fight this cursed battle.

I was taught the true meaning of Honesty by this organization. All of you here in New Brunswick should be glad and Rejoice that this little have nothing Province, that in most cases is forgotten about in other parts of Canada, indeed have the Irving organization to Bail you all out of hard times in the Maritimes, as the old saying goes.

I guess we can rehash it yet again, if Irving is so wonderful why does New Brunswick have the lowest standard of living in Canada? Why is unemployment higher and fewer jobs created than by Nova Scotia and PEI?

If a politician was nice to me, even got me a job, that doesn't mean I"m dumb enough to think that the political system is fine. Just because Irving didn't fire your ass doesn't mean they don't abuse the environment. It doesn't mean we didn't pay for their sinking of the Irving whale, and it doesn't mean that most industrial regulations aren't passed to them first for approval.

In case you haven't noticed the ONLY economic indicator in New Brunswick that has gone up is GNP, and the only reason IT is going up is because of Irving's refineries. Every other industry is crashing except oil exports. Unlike most countries we get virtually nothing from that, even when the pipeline goes through the province. If the pipeline bursts, leaks, or malfunctions, who do you think pays for the cleanup?

If the Irvings are getting so rich from oil, then why are WE subsidizing their terminal? Actually, if a vote were held on the matter, people may have actually supported it, so long as Irving was paying for it. If they are getting the profit, then why should WE be paying the costs?

I haven't been able to tell the government that I only want to pay one tenth of my property tax because I'm a good New Brunswicker who employs people and DOESN"T pollute the environment.

If I said that I'd be hauled off to jail and nobody would blink twice. But Irving does the same and some people actually think its GOOD. Even the National Post, that right wing rag said that it will be impossible for New Brunswick to attract any foreign investment because it is seen as an Irving fiefdom. If you want to invest in NB, you don't go to the province-you go to Irving.

Now, maybe that's perfectly fine for SOME people, in fact it would be probably be fine for a lot more if New Brunswick weren't the butthole of Canada. Think of it this way, if Irving thought NB was anything but a cash machine, they wouldn't have their head office in Bermuda.

If Irving didn't own everything then perhaps people would be so critical. If the rich people of the world are supposed to be left to be unaccountable by the masses who they occasionally nice to, we might as well be living in feudal europe.

Remember, once this terminal is done it will employ EIGHT people, that's from Irvings own mouth. More people than that are employed in an average restaurant. In Maine they had a referendum which FORCED the LNG company to guarantee that their would be 40 jobs paying $50,000 a year for the life of the project. Say it however you want, but that sounds like a hell of a lot better deal to me.

These Irving employees that are blogging on here saying how great everything is......they're just saying that because they know if they said anything negative about Irving Corp they'd be fired. And the guy who used his real name, ditto for you, too.
I dare anyone to come on here that is working for Irving and bad-mouth them. They'd be on the Unemployment Line tomorrow, and they KNOW IT!!!
Nothing like sucking up to the boss, is it guys ????
Well, guess what, I DO work for Irving. My name is Doris and I work in the golden ball offices uptown, and I'm not scared to say my job sucks!! You lift your head to yawn, you pretty much get socked...er.....docked, I mean!!!
Irvings are slave-drivers. They want every ounce of sweat out of you. And they don't pay what the job is worth either. So, there, I've said it.
These other people in here are either chicken-livers or they have to take off their rose-colored glasses!

Worked for two different Irving companies. My husband worked twenty years at one; they were put on hold ( a black list until they want you) after they were laid off and rehired at less pay and less benefits and others had the age so they could retire. Some who spoke up now nolonger are able to get any employment with any Irving company. Another thing they do to bring your wages down is lay you off and call it reorganization and then rehire you you at less pay again and everyone is happy; the company pays less and you are thankful you have a job. Good old Saint John workers and the best employer Irving!
