I am quite disapointed in the attitude that agencies have taken in the issue of lowering the Canadian Flag. I think that least we can do to let the families and loved ones we care, is to lower the flag. Whether it is one dead soldier or 100 soldiers or whatever the number, we need and must show the highest respect and regard for the supreme sacrifice they have given and keep their remaining families and loved ones in our prayers.
November 11th is Remembrance Day. Isn't is funny the people who jump on the «liberal» bandwagon about this flag story. (Remember Paul Hellyyer and his henchmen who who gave us the unified armed forces against the wishes of the military, the same bunch of Trudeauite draftdodgers who gutted the military to the bone causing the death of countless numbers of military personnel. These same people who are up in arms about the flag not being lowered probably couldn't get their ass off the couch on a rainy (let alone sunny) day in November to attend a Remembrance Day celebration. PLEASE ... give it a rest. Let us remember our fallen soldiers in our hearts.
I agree wholeheartedly with "Anonymous". I had the privilege of serving with heroes and am indeed one of the lucky ones who survived.
Those of our comrades-in-arms who had their lives torn away (none of us really gives our life) receive, and always will receive, the true love and respect of their peers at the ship, company or squadron level (something a political activist could never understand) Our hearts and sympathy will always go out to those bereaved - we are part of their extended family.
We will lower our flag to half staff in honour of the sacrifice of any of our local neighbours.
Stop capitalizing on human emotion and the tugging on heart-strings for dubious gain.
well maybe the legion feel that if they do not lower the flag it will create emotion amount the people and maybe the people will demand our government to bring back our troops since it is not our war
I sent the pictures to Charles, So don't attack him :
Any Beef take it up with me about same.
Charles, I know cares about our Brave Men And Women Serving Canada.
In the Vietnam area [ my era ], the Vast Majority Of The Civilian Public didn't care about GI's getting killed.
I don't care if you have more Campaign ribbons, than General Patton, Omar Bradley, and General Westmoreland all rolled into One.
There is nothing special about myself in any way shape or form. I served Uncle Sam back in the 60's.
I would rather see the Canadian Flag Lowered for a Soldier any day of the week, over most Politicians who usually speak with a Forked Tongue ???
At least Most Soldiers have more Honor than most politicians, in my personal opinion only.
Politicians and Military Brass, should be GLAD that the Canadian Civie Population, and Other's feel Sorrow and Grieve for Canada's Fallen Heroes, who gave the Ultimate Sacrifice.
This is not a popular war by any means, the same as Vietnam.
The Civilians in the Long Run, are the Commanders of the Military. WE the members of the Public elected the Government, who Commands and Controls the Military.
Whether those elected want to admit it or not, that's the way it is.
AND WE CAN UNVOTE THOSE RUNNING THIS COUNTRY. " THAT'S DEMOCRACY "
When the day comes, that the New Brunswick Command Legion here in Saint John, will not lower it's flag, what has the Legion Become, and what purpose does it serve honoring those who served and are in Harms Way, in this Day And Age ?

Have you visited my little web site " to try and inform the general public, how they can support our brave men and women serving abroad ?

This web site is not about me, it's about them.
A person or Soldier is never dead, as long as they are remembered.
Sorry for any and all spelling errors. My short term memory has been destroyed from Multiple Shock Treatments in combatting PTSD from years past.
There it is, I've come clean, as to why some I'n Nut's.
I'm going to buy a flag for my Residence, and Fly it at Half Staff, until all our People are back home.
"..most Politicians who usually speak with a Forked Tongue ???" All politicians speak with forked tongue and Harper's tongue is so forked that you can lift a whole pig with it.
Bottom line is that our freedom is slipping away quickly. Rules should of been changed before the soldiers went to defend our country not after the are killed. One day whether the day they arrive home or the day of the funeral but just one day November 11th is not enough.
If someone in politcs dies down goes the flag. Respect is gone and that is hard to earn back.
8:38 has a good point that one day isn't enough but that's up to us as individuals to remember the sacrifices made. A prayer for our men and women each day certainly isn't too much to ask.

Maybe that individual will leave a comment on his views on this emotional issue?
