Did it accomplished anything? Of course not! The pharmacists in Charlotte refuse to help the community by providing much needed methadone.
I was told that the drug situation is very very very bad in that part of the Province.

Can you tell me a little more about it Charlie? Just curious as to how bad the problem is and what officials are saying. Plus what prompted the protest?
I wanted to reply to your blog on the people in St George taking back their community.
I think that its great for everyone to get involved.
We need more spirit like they have shown.
I have to agree with you on one thing, the pharmacy there WILL NOT UNDER ANY CONDITION distribute Methadone.
There is only one pharmacy in St George and they have the monopoly and thats a shame in this day and age.
They don't mind giving out the OXY'S or DILAUDID!
Its really attitutes like the pharmacy has that ruins a community.
If the pharmacy is not willing to distribute the Methadone drink then the people should be fighting for a Government run place to get it.
Lets face it, the addict is broke and most likely so is the family that he/she has been stealing from to support the habit.
Very few have cars.
Another thing to keep in mind, most drug addict are professional liars so they need to have their urine tested regularly to keep things honest for them and the people helping out.
I am sure that pills are not the only thing swollowing Charlotte County.
Money needs to be allotted for the police to crack down and arrest crack houses, Ectacy pushers and so on.
So saying that I think that we will not see any changes in the near future because this Government could of nipped it in the bud but refused, now it looks like it might be too late.
