I don't know if this is a joke or what??? Bad enough the Saint John Police Force deleted my pictures but now this?

I wondering what to do?

The Kung fu fighting song is over 30 years old???

Well, it's real. Thats the shitty part....but congrats! This guy
actually saw it.

Either that, or the cops reported it to get it offline.

Tell him it was a freakin joke ....on a blog, and it was donated. Tell him it will be removed, but that if he wants to be petty he should visit www.newgrounds.com where he will find this song used about 50 times without a license.

Good one they got you. Since you have no assets then does that mean jail. You will get lot of attention which you so cherish.

Charles didn't do the video or use the song, therefore doesn't have to worry. Whoever did the video and hosts it has the problem. Make sure the complaint is genuine, and not some kid messing around. If you received an email then tell them to send the complaint in a certified letter to your address, otherwise you can assume it was a joke. Ask who the copyright holder is.

It doesn't surprise me, and its a shitty song anyway, I don't know why it was posted anyway. There are tons of royalty free songs on the net, it was pretty stupid to use copyrighted stuff and assume nothing would come of it.

Sounds like a fake letter to me. No highly paid lawyer would make that many gramatical mistakes.

I did a Google search.

Sindee Levin is a real attorney in Los Angeles, California and she is the president of the American Mechanical Rights Agency.

It certainly doesn't sound like a joke email even if there were typos.

use 'eye of the tiger' instead. actually I dont know if they could do anything if you just sang it yourself.

10:23 eye of the tiger wouldn't work, kung fu fighting has got to stay, it really looks like they are kung fu fighting... duh

Well, its days may be numbered depending on who wrote the letter. Demanding a written letter will buy some time at least. The fact that it is a different country will buy some more. When the inevitable happens, any generic music will do. It's not like its a resistance piece or something, it's only mildly entertaining-once.

I would find it hard to believe that the President of an association would be writing the letter, it would say 'from the office of..' or some such thing. And if it is cut and pasted then the grammatical mistakes give it away in a minute. Lawyers DO NOT make grammitical mistakes, language is their bread and butter.

I worked with Sindee Levin. You must secure a license in order to use copyrighted music. I suggest you contact her and request a license. If the letter was a joke and Sindee isn't aware of the use of "Kung Fu Fighting" I guarantee that she will find out...trust me on that one!
