At first, I believe it was something that blew up. Guess what it was?
The Canadian Army is located behind the Old Victoria Hospital and they were practicing for their stay in Afghanistan.

Good idea, because downtown fredericton is just so much like Afghanistan.
Your Pictures of this Blog Story really brought back memories big time for me, in a far away land, and a long time ago in the late 60's.
I used to live Saint John, NB, Charles. Grew up with a chap who you used to have links to his little web site, " sound familiar "
You'll never hear him talk about it, or say anything about it, " But in late 1968 he saved my and 4 other Marines Asses while he put his own on the line for ours ?!
He was awarded the Bronze Star, for what he did. Total disregard for his own.
