The thousands of dollars blown on this event could have been better used via a donation to worth charities.

Kind of reminds me of the yearly party that Lords used to have for their serfs in the middle ages, my how times change.

Why don't you complainers Just Shut Up for a change?

What in the Hell is wrong with a Celebration on a Holiday Weekend ?

Are you complainers Paranoid, the money spent might possibly cut into Your Welfare Cheques ??

If there weren't any celebrations, you'd be Yanginh and complaining that there weren't any.

I have spoken, Mr. Hum Bug

You know, anybody could have gone to this event rich or poor. The gesture was nice...period.

Gee, a complainer telling complainers to shut up. How about that, no irony there. How about a 'gesture' to get welfare rates up the national average, I guess some gestures are nice, when the middle class enjoys them, others are not so desirable. Piss away money on hot dogs for people who have money, but make sure the poor can't afford them. How about this, deduct what it costs from the Lieutenant Governors paycheque since they don't do anything anyway. That would be a 'nice gesture' too. Spinks doesn't like his tax dollars going to the CBC but doesn't mind it when it goes for barbecues, those are some very strange priorities.

Wow talk about comparing apples to oranges 2:49. Nothing strange at all with my points. I actually don't mind my tax dollars going to CBC as long as they are relevant to Canadians and not just an elitist left-winged crowd as they are now. It's current model is atrocious and needs an overhaul.

The barbecue was relevant to everyone since everyone was invited. We have a great province and I think it is worth celebrating.

Sure, everyone is invited, you can hop in your car and spend ten times what it costs for a hot dog to drive down to Fredericton from Campbellton or Edmunstun. The people from the rest of the province paid for it, and got bubkus out of it-unless they were stupid enough to spend $30 in gas to drive to get there.

Then talk to your City, Town, Village or Local Service District. Nearly everyone has some kind of annual celebrations. Don't begrudge another community theirs. Celebrate your own community too.

We are talking about the Lieuteant Governors party, not a New Brunswick day party. They happen to be on the same day. Your local town is probably barely getting by, let alone spending thousands for a New Brunswick day celebration. The lieutenant governors party is paid by provincial taxes, your local one isn't. If the Lieutenant Governor had a party in every city then that would be different-at least it would be equal.

And sticks and stones meathead. If you don't mind pissing away your taxes on hot dogs, keep your big trap shut when people talk about using taxes for constructive purposes.

Sheesh 1:30, so much for having a civil discussion. I've been called lots of things here but meathead is a new one. Sorry you feel that way friend. I don't play that game so end of discussion. I was hoping Charles moderating the comments would help raise the standard of civility. Apparently not.

It must have been an American company that made the banner. "Favorite" is not the correct Canadian spelling.
