What a waste of time and money. Legalize it already.

Yes that is right, Legalize it so our children can get hooked on that crapp and become zombies like have the city of fredericton's druggies. I think it is time that the Police put a drag net out and scoop up the druggies and their suppliers once and for all. and put the addicted unfortunate ones in a compulsery drug rehabilittion program, especially if they receive money from the province.

this needs to be done immediately.

22-apartment grow-op busted in North York

marijuana grow-operation discovered Thursday in a North York apartment building spanned nearly two dozen units, police say.

About 6,600 marijuana plants were seized from 22 apartments on nine floors when Toronto police raided a 13-storey highrise on Jane Street, north of Sheppard Avenue West, according to the Toronto Star.

The estimated street value of the plants is more than $6 million.

Two men have been arrested.

Residents were shocked to learn of the grow-operation.

Michael Gates, who recently moved into the building, said he never noticed anything that he thought was out of the ordinary.

He recalls a few power outages during the summer that were quickly fixed by the landlord and does remember catching a whiff of marijuana from time to time.

"I guess with any building nowadays you're going to smell stuff like weed … so we smelled that a few times but I just passed it off as someone having fun in the stairway," said Gates. "I didn't realize it was any bigger than that."

He's now considering moving out of the building, worried a grow-op may not be the only criminal activity going on there.

Meanwhile, city health and fire officials will be checking the building Friday for air quality, fire hazards and mould.

Police were still on scene Friday morning and a press conference is scheduled to be held later in the day.
