Andy Scott will soon be gone from public life.
You regular readers have noticed I don’t blog about Federal Politics too often.
I’ll make it an exception in this case.
I first chatted with the MP on the talk show - Voice of the Province!
Yes, those were the good old days when Rogers Television < Old Germany! > allowed all New Brunswickers to call in but those days are long gone.
Only certain New Brunswickers will be allow to call the talk show.
Ok . . . never mind that . . .
Andy was always very straight forward with his answers. I never met the guy in person but he sounded like a nice guy.
In 2003, I landed in the Capital and began my six-month protest in front of the New Brunswick Legislature.
It was there I came face to face with Andy.
I found him the type of guy that I could joke with.
I remember telling him after he was appointed to the Cabinet < second time > to keep his big mouth shut while he's in the plane!!...lol
I will never forget on a certain Saturday morning and this was no joking matter.
I was in front of the Farmer’s Market collecting signatures for my petition asking the Government to do a study on the way our kids are being force on prescription drugs in this Province.
I noticed Andy walking by me but this time around he was all alone.
He didn’t have his wife Denise beside him.
I remember I felt a feeling there was something that just wasn’t right? I just had a crazy feeling.
Well, 30 minutes later he was assaulted in his office.
This all change the way Andy would meet people in his office.
It would never be an open house for everyone to walk in again. Tout Fini!!!!
A person would have to wait in a room before entering Andy’s office.
Yes, an MP assaulted in New Brunswick was big news and Andy took it in strides.
This attack never stopped him from facing the public head on.
I like the way Andy always chatted with the citizens on the streets. That attack never stopped him and this is what the voters want from their elected officials.
I would always say Andy Scott will be the MP representing Fredericton for life.
Andy did make some changes in his appearance which I didn’t agree.
He showed up with these new glasses.
I made fun of the new looks and everything came to a halt when he said - My wife thinks I’m cute with this new style!
Well? Why listen to Charles when the wife has spoken!...lol . . .
Just last weekend while driving near the airport?
The driver said - Andy takes a plane to Ottawa every single week in that area.
I quickly replied - What do you want Andy to do? Hitch a ride to Ottawa????
In 2005, Andy became a blogger and I didn't agree he should moderate the comments in his blog. < Little did anyone know that I would follow the same action months later? >

Yes, the life of a politician isn’t an easy task.
I always said that an elected official's salary should be double because a politician is like a Psychiatrist.
Do you know how much money these Psychiatrists make these days?
My God? We should consider ourselves lucky that we have walking Psychiatrists on the streets!!!!!
They go out in public and listen to other people problems all day long.
They are good listeners but they don’t do anything afterwards . . . lol . . .

Andy will be missed by a lot of people.
I was honoured to be in the Capital when he was an MP.
It was fun to debate issues with Andy.

Andy Scott is not stepping down, he has indicated he will not re-offer. I have no idea how this could prompt a PROVINCIAL by-election.
You have proven again you have no grasp on how politics and governing even works. The reason you don't blog about federal politics very often is because you can't throw yourself into the story and make it about you. Every chance you do have to throw yourself into a federal story--it makes the blog.

can i do a story on your blog? It's about gambling.I'm having a real hard time with it. Real hard. I've been everywhere trying to get help, meetings, etc. even the Saint John Regional Hospital. Not really VLT's but sports lottery, Pro-Line, if I'm allowed to say that on here. It's tearing my world apart. I would say more, I just need some help really bad. Not money, no, I need emotional help and some support which I can't get from family.

You are totally full of BS. Nobody is banned from calling in to the shows, not even you. If a person calls in for a show on automobiles and then hijacks it by ranting about ADHD, then THAT person's call will be cut off to allow other callers with RELEVANT calls to get through. You have been lying over and over about this.
I'd love to hear how a federal MP's decision not to run in the next federal election is going to spark a provincial by-election. Please, do tell.

First of all, Scott is NOT a producer, get your facts straight. Second of all, there is a huge difference between getting cut off and not being allowed on air. How hard is it for you to comprehend that ANYONE who calls in and starts to rant about something totally unrelated to the topic of the show WILL be cut off. It is FAIR to the other callers who DO want to talk about the topic of the show. You know darn well that you ARE allowed to call in and will be put on air IF you have a relevant comment or question to the topic. Do you understand that?
