They're supposed to be very confortable to wear on a warm summer day at the beach (not with socks). They have some aftermarket brands available that are very affordable (15$/pair). I also find them ugly to wear on the street.
I think they're ugly too, but I still wear mine because I really don't care either way. As long as they're comfortable - and they are! Comfiest summer shoes I've ever owned.
Flip flops have no support either, I don't think anyone's really concerned about that. Ask anyone who has Crocs, they are super comfortable. We all know they're ugly. We just have more important things to worry about than what people think of our shoes.

I think they're ugly too, but I still wear mine because I really don't care either way. As long as they're comfortable - and they are! Comfiest summer shoes I've ever owned.
