Around noon someone knocked at my door and I was surprised to see a group of people in the building. They were a very friendly bunch.
They were around the City of Fredericton.
Once at the Soup Kitchen, I noticed nice flowers on each table from the group.
I might add that all the flowers were quickly gone.
You would see many poor people walking around the City with flowers in hand.
I really don’t know the group main goal so maybe someone can give the details in this blog?
Merci!!

Hi Charles. This was a number of churches getting together to do nice things for people. No strings attached. Simply Christian love for fellow man and woman. Thanks for covering it!
I believe that the Group of Churches that put this on was a group called Love Fredericton, They have been doing this for a couple of years or so. I believe that this is a wonderful way to show the Love of God to many of our fellow Citizens in this city who either don't normally or maybe even never go to a church.
Nice post Charles I think that these people have a good thing I hope that it spreads all over.
Ah religious propaganda - just what we all love.
It would have been better to have spent the money on a donation to a worthy charity than on the business cards, t-shirts and flowers.
No one's stopping you from doing that anonymous but that wasn't the point of this group. I had the chance to talk to a couple of the folks with the heart t-shirts and they were trying to show an act of love for everyone regardless. I'm with Michael and Paul, nice coverage Charles.
The T shirts were purchased by each one that participated and a lot of us used the same Tshirt we had last year. The business card are mere pennies because churches all across Canada do this.
We did indeed give to many non profits for example Grace house had a new deck, helped with chores at Men's shelter, fixed things up at Community Health Clinic. Went to transistion and Chrstlia's House and took phone cards and itmes that could be used (called and asked for request from the non profits) Went into old folks homes just to talk and spend time. Passed out water or coke or had bque's for regular folk to show the LOVE of God with no strings attached, no one was preached at we simply handed them the item and wished them a great day. God's Love is free and everything we did was free also. Many of these same churches do give regular donations to the non profits and work closely with the homeless and near homeless in our city all year round.
Most charity groups have t-shirts and other items such as that. It's their money, and a way for them to get their name out there. They've been around a few years and this is the first I've heard of them. Besides, any number of those articles could have been DONATED.
Ah there is one in every crowd who has to be the negative nelly.
This was done in Saint John a few weeks back. unfortunatley I didn't hear anything about it until the day it was going on and it was already underway but I think I would have liked to check out the BBQ and stuff. Sounds like a great idea
