Your goal doesn't seem to be freedom of speech it seems to be freedom to plagiarize.

You would be pretty pissed if someone were to take everything you've written on this site, put it in a book and sold it.

This is the same thing except that you are destroying your credibility as a protester of free speech by plagiarizing.

Invoking Hitler just makes you look like a hack.

He then sent me this email -

Good afternoon Mr. LeBlanc,

As previously mentioned in an email dated yesterday, August 2, 2007, it has come to the attention of CanadaEast Interactive that a web site associated with you at the address http://oldmaison.blogspot.com/ posted an article, in its entirety, written by Mr. Wendell Fulton, appearing on page A5 of the August 2, 2007 edition of the Telegraph-Journal titled Who and what is a journalist?.

Again we thank you for your interest in the story. Again we must insist that it be removed in its current form from your site, in accordance with our posted Copyright Policy. "Your goal doesn't seem to be freedom of speech it seems to be freedom to plagiarize."

It should be added that his goal is to be rude to people, insult them and harass them. If you object then you have greviously violated his rights and there must be an investigation.

Fortunately Charles CanadaEast finally entered the 21st Century and realized they were missing out on having traffic directed their way by blogs and other websites. You can link to the article for a day or so (unless they've changed it, might be longer now). Not ideal like most other sites which keep the links up for longer but its far better than what they had before.

With that being said I find the first letter from Mr. MacKinnon pretty unprofessional. Why he just didn't send you the second e-maile which stated the same thing but in a professional matter in the first place is odd.

All I know that we have Irving's employees leaving nasty comments.

Now? This is the reason you have to subcribe to their papers to leave comments.

One wrong comment and your whole family could pay the price.

Yeah? You're right Spinks? You don't see much on the net of the Irving's papers.

They should have learned a long time ago that stories attracts the readers to their site.

Look at the New York Times? They cover my trial and it's still there.

I don't see the point in leaving a link to the Irving papers.

CBC is the best to leave links....Sorry Spinks!!!

You have Irving "employees" leaving nasty comments now? There are more than one? Or do you just like to assume that if there is one there must be hundreds? Well surely with your spotless reputation for honesty you wouldn't exaggerate so it must be true.
So, Let me see if I have the rest of this right. The only stories (in your mind) that attract readers are ones that mention you Charles? Is that what makes the NY Times so popular? I have to wonder how many times you must visit their site to re-read that article. That sounds a lot like the "If you don't let me into your event for free I'll tell everyone and you be sorry" kind of Charles speak. Yet how could anyone not believe a man full of such humble humility as Charles Leblanc.
