No one in those pictures look terribly confused. Are you sure its just not the photographer that can't seem to grasp the realities of the situation? Also there is no "Battle of the Miss New Brunswick" as you state going on, they hold two different and distinct titles. Not everything has to be framed as some sort of a fight even if that is your personal preference. Frankly its an insult the two winners and their title to suggest it.
There is a definate difference between the two! The real Miss New Brunswick EARNED her title by winning her home town pagaent which then earned her the RIGHT to compete for the Miss New Brunswick title against 12 other young ladies from accoss the province. A title that has been passed down for 52 years! From what we have learned Miss International pays for her title! Is there a problem with both appearing at events? YES there is, as it takes away from the Real Miss New Brunswick by adding confusion and the need to explain the two titles everywhere she goes. Miss Culberson has felt embarrassed and degraded at the stares and questions when people see two crowns and two Miss New Brunswick sashes on two different girls....People just think it is a big joke! It is just plain ridiculas to have two. Miss New Brunswick International needs to REDO their title to ACTUALY READ INTERNATIONAL! All they have is a little "Int'l" that is barely visible and usually covered by Miss Corey's arm! What does "International" mean anyway when tacked onto the end of New Brunswick??? Is this what you call an oxymoron? The real Miss New Brunswick is invited to events, Miss NB international calls and invites herself, or just tell us event organizers that she is coming. The real Miss New Brunswick has missed a few events due to misrepresentation of the other Miss NB (Int'l)including New Brunswick Day! The Minister of Tourism Stuart Jamieson sent Miss Culberson an apology for the confusion of her not being invited to the New Brunswick Day events at which Miss New Brunswick International attended. Even poor Charles thought she was "the" Miss New Brunswick, but when it was pointed out to him that she wasn't the real Miss New Brunswick, he laughed and said he should have read the fine print! He had the right name "Jenna Culberson" the real Miss New Brunswick with pictures of the wrong girl "Amanda Corey" Miss INTERNATIONAL posted on his blog. Recently Organizer of the "Run for the Cure" thought Miss Culberson was to be attending, and were surprised when Miss Corey showed up! One organizer had Jenna Culberson's name on the list and had no idea who this "curly haired" girl was that showed up! Another organizer said that she forced her way into attending two events of his on the same day, and jumped in every picture he tried to take of the children. He was telling everyone after that Miss NB International had no class and that it was obvious that the only reason she was there was for herself and any publicity she could get. He then went on to say that he was so impressed by the Real Miss New Brunswick Jenna Culberson, that he asked her to be a spokes person for his charity. That young lady has so much class and character. She raised funds for the event and made an effort to talk to the kids and participate in the activities. She wasn't there to just draw attention to herself. She is the real representative of our Province and an encouragement to our youth! From what I have seen of Miss Culberson, she is taking all this with grace and confidence. It is just too bad that this issue has taken away from the integrity of the title. I am not here to trash Miss Cory, but it is just sad to see someone go to such lengths to seek so much attention for themselves. Even people in her own hometown don't know what she is trying to prove? They are annoyed that she calls inviting herself to their events. To end, if her title is so different and distinct why does it have to be explained what the difference is every where she goes? Why do they use Miss New Brunswick "Int'l"????? Get your own title! Thanks, A Member of the real Miss New Brunswick pagaent committee!
Amanda Corey was not seeking attention and she did not invite herself to events. I think Jenna Culberson's mother needs to stop trying to get her daughters name out there by trash talking others. It really shows what type of person she wants her daughter to be...Trash anyone to get more publicity?
