I was certain that the Irvings were working behind the scenes to shut down UNBSJ so they could train their future Soldiers...OPPS I mean employees.
But after the Protest in front of the New Brunswick Legislature? I WAS WRONG!!!
There were hundreds of signs out there. Click below

I never saw one Anti-Irving message about my concern.
So? This means that I’m paranoid and the Irvings have absolutely nothing to do with this issue.
So therefore I apologize to the Irvings for blogging my concern.
Once again I’m very sorry!!!!

Just because there are no anti irving signs doesn't mean you weren't right. The report clearly says that the province should have post secondary education more aligned with industry, well, in st.john, who is meant by industry.
They already have a two year course in pulp and paper processing, so no doubt they want more emphasis on oil and gas refining and things like that. However, the report never says what kind of curriculum the new school would have.
Also, carrying an anti irving sign guarantees you'll have a harder time finding a job, and this is a government decision. That doesn't mean that Irving is not lobbying one way or another, but honestly, I can't see why they would really care.
I tip my hat to you Charles. Bravo! It takes a big person to admit when they are wrong.
I critize you alot but this time I congratulate you.
This posted from the Telegraph Journal.
Certainly factual, compared to the 20 year old campbell letter diatribe from same paper.

Turn off the mute button, Mr. Premier
Mr. Premier, can I borrow the remote control Frank McKenna gave you election night?
I know it's for all our Liberal MLAs, but can we turn the mute off once in a while to hear what they have to say? You all had lots to say before the last election.
The last time your party was in power, local Liberal MLAs except for Lou Murphy sat with their mute buttons on while Mr. McKenna tore up a brand new contract with our nurses, cancelled the hiring of new doctors, specialists, and surgeons and put the run to St. Joseph's Hospital as we knew it.
Not one Liberal MLA asked, "Before making those cuts why don't we check and see what their average ages are so that we will know how soon they need to be replaced."
You told us prior to the last election that NB Power's fiasco with Venezuela cost our province $2.1 billion. You knew that the most the loss could be was around $400 million. What was the settlement? Close to $400 million, right?
You raised taxes. Now we have a feasibility study into Lepreau 2 being done by the companies who want to build it. That's like putting a chimpanzee in charge of a banana factory.
You want to completely tear apart our university because your party does not wish to put any money into our Community College. Once again the mute is still on so you never have to worry about being challenged on anything.

Tell me about it Charles!
I've spent my day apologizing to Mr. Woodside and J.D.Irving for being so nasty in my letter to the paper the other day. I did have a nice chat with Mr. Woodside today and apologized. He accepted and I'm glad to say that he's coming to our meeting next Tuesday to help us out any way he can.
I am sorry to Irving too. After I wrote my letter Ms. Keith called me to say that they were coming to look at the York Street Station roof this week to fix it up before the snow flies.
Good to her word, I dropped by today and met up with Irving engineer Rick Davis who was scoping the station out with a couple of other chaps in preparation for repairs.
I'm more than a little embarassed now.
It looks like most are ready to work towards the common goal, doesn't it?
Even the federal bunch are happy to attend the meeting and help out.
The only ones I haven't heard from are the provincial folks.
Why is that? In December 2006 Rick Miles looked me in the eye and assured me that if nothing happened at the station in the near future, the province would step in and make something happen.
Now I'm not saying anything negative but how many months is "near future"?
Just wondering.

Yeah Woodside is a good Mayor.
I was surprise when you said he wouldn't attend the meeting.
I know one thing for a fact?
The Mayor has my support for the next Municipal Election.
No question about it.
Almost every time that you have criticized the Irvings I disagreed. But I am going to wait on this one, because there are Liberals who say that the Irving companies have been a strong influence on this issue.I suppose that it is possible that the Liberals are just looking for brownie points. At any rate,Shawn definitely does not understand the significance of a university connected to a strong national university like UNB...or doesn't care.Check out You Tube, type in Shawn Graham and watch the video of his airplane construction.Hard to take him seriously.
The province is nowhere to be seen because they don't actually like to do anything constructive. The mayor said the legislation on the cleanliness bill didn't apply to land that was formerly crown land. Why is that? What difference does that make? The last thing the province wants to do is have to go up against irving.
All I know is,now living in Nova Scotia and formerly N.B.,judging from the premier's great paper airplane modelling,I'm sure that he will be a great leader when he grows up.Maybe then I can return and help him go from"worst to first".
Defending the Irvings,hhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
When graham grows up,hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
