Ok...Richard took his fourth heart attack last weekend and I phoned him last night.

Richard has been fighting the Government in the court system for years. He spent all his money and he’s down to the dumps.

He used to be a contractor who ran his own business but these days he drives a taxi cab to survive.

Richard lives in a three bedroom apartment off Sunset Drive.

He found a roomate to help with the rent.

He pays $700.00 per month.

He finds it very difficult to survive. The money is almost gone and I believe the stress landed him in the hospital.

So there’s Richard in the cardiac unit!!!

Richard receives a visitor. It’s a worker from New Brunswick Family Services.

She asked Richard is he had any problems?

Richard explain to her that he had no money to pay for the prescription pills he’ll need after his heart operation.

He’s being transported by ambulance in Saint John this morning.

The worker from Family Services explained to Richard Harris that he wasn’t allowed to received a health care card until he kick his roommate < who is working > out of his appartment.

But even if he kicks him out? He pays $700.00 per month so he will not qualify for a health care card.

I’m surprise that Richard’s heart monitor didn’t go from BEEP...BEEP...BEEP to BEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!

HEART

The next day, the social worker once again showed up at his bed side.

She must have been surprise that Richard was still alive from the extra stress she added on him???

But she don’t know that Richard is a true rebel!!!

Richard once again explain that he had no money and needed a health care card.

The worker told Richard - Sorry!!! Those are the rules!!!

Richard will have to leave his place and do it fast so he could qualify for a health care card so he could afford the prescriptions he needs to save his life.

The worker suggested that he might be qualify for a room in a Care Home?

Richard as the rebel he is replied - A room cost $2500.00 per month. I’m asking to live in my little appartment and the Government will not let me do it??? I could save the Government a lot of money???

The worker added there was a waiting list also!!!!

BEEP...BEEP...BEEP.......BEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!

Richard asked the worker - What about all my stuff? Will the home take care of it??? Is there a storage room???

Pretty sad state of affair if you asks moi????

So???? What the hell is a Social worker from Family Services doing in the hospital???

Is this a way to kill New Brunswickers from more stress????

Yes, consider yourself lucky that you’re healthy!!!

If you have a small job and suffered an heart attack?

You’ll have to move out and live at the Emergency shelter or a rooming house.

This is very sad!!!!!

These social workers tell the patients the bad news on their death bed and expect them to take cares from their bed???

Richard will have to call his roommate and tell him to move out in the dead cold months of winter so he can get a Health Care Card!!!!

I know Richard Harris very good and there’s no way he’s going to do that because he has a very good heart.

Not a healthy heart but a good one conscience wise!!!

If I was Richard? I would stand on the sidewalk outside of Family Services till be gets his prescription or die trying!!!!!

How many other New Brunswickers are in the same boat???

Very scary stuff!!!!!!

Richard is being operated on during the next few days and my prayers are for him!!!!

SPIRITUAL LIVING
Prayer and Devotions

A Lesson on Prayer
by Father José LaBoy, LC

Resolution: Dedicate a specific time to prayer each day.

February 12, 2008
Tuesday of the first week of Lent

Matthew 6:7-15
Jesus said to his disciples: "In praying, do not babble like the pagans, who think that they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask him. This is how you are to pray: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. If you forgive men their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions."

Introductory Prayer: Lord, I am aware that you know what is best for me, and that is why I believe in you. You are more interested in my spiritual well-being than I am, and that is why I trust in you. You always give me your loving forgiveness in spite of my sins, and that is why I love you.

Petition: Lord, teach me how to pray.

1. Do Not Babble Some people like to talk. They demand to be listened to, but they don’t have the same interest in listening. However, you usually can’t listen if you aren’t used to silence. St. Theresa of Calcutta once wrote that prayer is the fruit of silence. Jesus wants us to understand that prayer is more about listening than about talking. When you are with someone who knows much about a topic that interests you, you limit yourself to asking questions and dedicate yourself to listening. Jesus is the revealer of God the Father. That means our main interest in prayer should be asking Jesus, our Lord, about his Father and then dedicating ourselves to listening.

2. Praying to the Father of All Jesus tells us that God the Father knows what we need before we ask him. Still, we should ask, because in asking we become aware that we have needs that only God our Father can grant us. We learn to ask God what we most need for our salvation. That is why Jesus taught us the “Our Father.” Praying the “Our Father” reminds us that he is the father of all, and therefore every human person is truly our brother. In praying the “Our Father,” we essentially ask for three things: that God have the first place in our lives, that he give us our material and spiritual sustenance, and that he grant us his forgiveness.

3. Forgive and Be Forgiven Jesus emphasizes the importance of forgiveness. As the First Letter of John reminds us, we are all sinners (cf. 1: 8). One of the essential characteristics of Christian life is seeking to encounter Christ’s loving mercy. We can really experience it only when we put it into practice ourselves. We can admire a person who parachutes off a plane, but we won’t understand the experience until we skydive ourselves. We grasp the true meaning of mercy when we forgive others. Our mercy will not be the same as Christ’s: He never sinned, and therefore he forgives us even though we don’t deserve it. If Christ has forgiven us, how can we dare not to forgive others?

Conversation with Christ: Lord, I thank you for teaching me to pray to the Father. I don’t always pray as much as I should. Please help me to pray more and better. Please help me to want with all my heart to give God the first place in my life, preferring his will to mine. Help me to treat others as I would like them to treat me, forgiving them when they offend me.

Resolution: I will dedicate a specific time to prayer each day.

Another ridiculous waste of taxpayer's dollars. This government keeps saying it wants to reduce health care costs but here is a perfect example of someone who could continue to live independently on his own with a little bit of help yet the "Bureacratic RULES" say NO.

You have to be completely destitute to get any help from the Department of Family and Community Services or whatever they are calling themselves these days (a rose by any other name still smells the same if you ask me).

If you have any resources whatsoever they treat you like you're a millionaire who can afford to go to the Mayo Clinic for treatment or off to vacations in the Greek Isles for a bit of R&R.

$2500 for a care home is at the low end of the scale. I am furious that a social worker would suggest that my tax dollars pay for this man to stay in a care home to the tune of $2500 a month when all this man needs is a little bit of assistance to get him over a rough patch.

Of course, if he was dead, which he may soon be because of the added stress of his situation, we wouldn't have to bother would we?

Maybe that's the plan. Instead of a living, breathing, human being who contributes to society and tries to work, we get another statistic, another victim of the uncaring and incompetent bureacracy that created these rules in the first place. Remember, these are RULES, not law. Rules can be changed.

New Brunswickers should be really really mad about the direction this man's case is taking because there but for the grace of god, go all of us. Who of us has thousands of dollars saved up and tucked away in the bank for the day - god forbid - when you can't work? Not too friggen many of us. The bills don't stop coming in when they money does.

Look at this man's face. It could be you next time. Get mad. Phone your MLA and the Health Minister, Mike Murphy and the Minister of Family and Community Services or whatever they are calling themselves these days. Tell them to help this man continue to live independently in his own home - not kill him with inflexible, archaic rules that do not reflect the reality for most working poor in New Brunswick today.

They have already destroyed his life and whatevers left of him! Whats 5000$ more to bury him! Social Workers dont care they get probably 40.000$ if not more a year to destroy peoples lives. And they have face to call down a Person on His Deathbed being nothing more than Goverment Welfare receivers themselves!

I really don't know whether to say good luck or not!?!?

Because you know how the Government of New Brunswick feels about money charlie,, The small guy ALWAYS pays the bills.

There are NO givebacks or similar actions there of: as we can certainly attest to in this Province

He is a citizen of the well known NEW BRUNSWICK,last in Education, first in abuse.

A province run and policed by people who couldn't pass a real grade 10 exam.

Why do our people vacation in Cuba and love it and the people?

All I can say is Family Services Suck in New Brunswick. They treat people very badly here. For Richard I feel very upset for him and for the Family Services you people all suck, and have no hearts, you are only working there for the pay cheque, you don't care about the people you say you are helping, they are only known as a file number to you. But what goes around comes around, and it will people.

I Richard Harris file Complaint on Mr.Malcolm J. Carter,AACI,FRI,CMR.I also File a Complaint on Harrison W.Goodwin also AACI,BBA,CMR.on November 8,2000.

Why, Because I was told and lead to believe if both of these Experts reports was band by New Brunswick Association of real Estate Appaisers, ?

I would not need a Expert to go forward with my claim on Expropriation of my property.

Now after April 4,2000,after we having a meeting with D.O.T head People, such as AACI John S.Raymond, Jennifer Logan,? Who is Les Smith Wife.

I knew by this time April 4/00 the Government realty had no reports with AACI Mac. Carter.

I had Mr. Goodwin flaw draft Report, which I did not know what he was doing.

Tacking 2, legal survey lots, and part of the back parcel and saying the market vale is $5,300.00 for both Lots and the back part of Property?

Why would anyone take 2 survey lots and turn property in one Parcel and give it to the government for $5,300.00?

Now I find this out after, he Goodwin already has taken $21,000.00 dollars from me.

Now who was he Working for,?

Why was the New Brunswick Association of Real Estate Appraisers was incorporated on January 1,1995. !

I Think Because the Government knew the Highway was on the way, a way to Expropriation people Property and control what? reid more at http://govinjustice.blogspot.com
