MAN DIES AFTER CAR PLUNGES IN THE SAINT JOHN RIVER!!!

After I arrive in the Capital. I decided to go for a nice walk! Someone told me that a car just crashed from the Westmorland Bridge and into the Saint John River. I told the guy- This would be impossible because the railings are so high. But I walked to the River and didn't see anything strange. I was by the Legislature. 30 minutes later I noticed hundreds of citizens near the old Victoria Hospital and a car did indeed plunged into the Saint John River. I was told that a older man was behind the wheel and this could have been a tragedy. He left the road and went down a hill and droved right past a walking trail and into the River. That part of the City are usually full of people on this walking trail. It could have been much worst! It's too bad that I'm not set up to post the pictures on the blog. I wish that I would have had Tim's digital camera with me! Ohhh well? C;est la vie. God bless the guy's soul!!!

BERNARD LORD OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES ELECTION DATE!!!!!

Boy! The Premier received a blast from the voters last night on the program Voice of the Province. Mind you, he’s been on the show a lot lately.

VOICDE
Charles 04_07_05 070

Of course, I decided to call but I had something different in mind for the Premier.

I called the show just as it began to make certain that there’s no excuse for Rogers not to return my call.

I watched the show with Tim Smith and it was funny to watch a live talk show on television receiving a blast from the voters.

It was fun to watch. It was so much fun that I totally forgot that Rogers was supposed to call me back.

The first half hour was done and the host Phil Vincent seemed to apologize to the Premier during the last minute of the first half of the show for the callers reactions.

Every time a caller would call? He would drink his water. I am certain that he went to the washroom during the break.

Hey? Three shows ago, they didn’t return my call. The last show, I didn’t bother to call but this time I wanted to be on so I once again phoned Rogers.

The guy taking the calls said- Ohhh Charles???

I said – When am I going on the show?

I knew that the Premier’s staff was in the studio and I didn’t want to say - Can I? Can I??? Can I be on the show???? Pretty Pleasseeeee????

He said- Charles, you’re on the list!

I quickly answered - I was one of the first one to call and close to 10 callers have been on since I call.

He said- Well charles? You’re on the list!

I got angry and said to myself- Enough is Enough! I demanded to talk to the producer Patrick Watts but I was told that he was too busy!

I told the guy to tell the producer that if Rogers doesn’t return my call? I am going to complain to the CRTC!!! I am not fooling around!! I mean business!!!

He replied- Ok Charles….I will pass the message and hung up.

I reminded the guy to carefully remember these words- C.R.T.C.!!!

The staff at Rogers knows the way that I have been fighting the Irvings that I will crucify Rogers ,I will do it!

irving

I am a strong believer of freedom of speech and there’s no way in the world that a talk show will deny me the right to speak!

When I hung up the phone and told Tim Smith!

If they don’t return my call? I am going to go on a rampage during the summer months against the talk shows on Rogers. Just like Trudeau? JUST WATCH ME!!!

I was so serious that I was going to go on a rampage. I was so serious that I had it all ready to paste in my blog and post that there was 30 minutes left on the talk show but Rogers refuse to call me!

I was all ready to post my blog and Sh@t! the phone rang and it was the Producer from Voice of the Province!

He told me that I was going to be the next caller.

Personally I like the guy and I said - Why did you decide call me??? I’m all ready to go on a rampage here!!! I got my blog all set up to go!!!…lol…

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when the guy told the producer – Charles told me that I made certain to mention to you the letters - C.R.T.C.!!! ..lol

Ok…It was show time and my turn came up.

I started with my usual Bonsoir Phil.. Bonsoir Bernard.

phil%20vincent_3

Bernard had his head down because he’s thinking what will Charles say?

Will he remind the Premier to go to Church? The no sins story?..lol…or any other issues that would be in my five ADHD brains!!!

Charles 04_07_05 072

I could see a sign of relief in his face once I mentioned Ritalin!!!

Of course, he agrees that the doctors should continue to drug and kill our children until the next Provincial election.

What kind of Mickey Mouse answer is that anyway?

p_d

I did something different this time around. I handed the phone to Tim Smith and he asked the Premier about the issue of VLT’S!

May 4-2005-T & C-2

I have been phoning these talk shows for years and this was a first for me. A two for one call! You can watch the program during the weekend at 3:00pm!!!!

What I found interesting is that the Premier announced in a arrogant fashion that he’s proud to announce the next provincial election will be on October 15, 2007.

Charles 04_07_05 072

He sort of told the audience that he’s going to stay there until the very last day and there’s nothing New Brunswickers can do about it!

He did the same action with the by-election in Shediac-Cape Pele! He waited till the very last day to announce this much needed election for the Acadians in that area.

These poor people were left without an MLA when Bernard Richard became the new Ombudsman of this Province.

It’s that kind of arrogance that’s going to be his downfall!

By the way? The atmosphere is getting very heated in the Legislature.

I wish to ask a question?

What’s your view on this guy????

T-City-2

Please excuse the style and grammar of this update because I just write the darn thing and send it along the information Highway!

Have a good weekend and keep on checking this blog site during the next few days because you never know what Charles is going to come across.

Also don’t be afraid to leave a comment!!! Bye bye

LNG MEETING WAS LOUD AND INTERESTING!!!

Ok…it’s been quite a last 24 hours. Last evening, I attended the meeting at Harbour View School.

NOTICE THE TABLE ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE IS EMPTY!!! I WONDER WHY!!!

crowd

It was hosted by CFBC in Saint John. This was a place for the citizens in Saint John to voice their objections against the manner the City reach a deal with the Irvings of the LNG plant. Hey? I even bumped into my bigot buddy Jimmy Webb. Me and this former co-founder of the C.O.R. Party always argue the Freanch issues on the talk show so therefore if we agree on this issue? It must be a good one!

bigot10

The number of citizens who attended the meeting varies from who you talk with? The organizers will say 400 to 500 people showed up but the media will put the number closer to 300 people.

crowd10

The Irving papers will surely not put the number at 500!

I went there with my good friend Dorothy Dawson. The organizers told us to sit up in the front.

DOROTHY

I quickly replied - Hey? I’m the shy type!

They said - Yeah right!! You? Shy??? Hey? Guess what?

I am the shy type! Since I’ve been a kid,

I never enjoyed sitting up front. I don’t know why but then again it’s very hard for me to stand still in one seat. I always had that problem. < ADHD remember? >

I’ll be sitting there for 30 minutes and I got to move. Of course, I enjoy chatting with people that I haven’t seen in years and this was the case this last evening.

I believe this was the first time that a host < Rick Mantle >of a local talk show in Saint John have organise a public debate and I might add that it was live on CFBC!

It’s going to be very interesting to see if Rick Mantle is still around next year as host of this talk show?

rick

Will the Irvings use their muscles to make certain that Rick is history after this season?
bios_townspeople_burns
Time will tell?

Talk shows are becoming very popular in this Province because it’s the only way to spread the message among New Brunswickers.

What else can a person do? We sure cannot turn towards the Irving’s Newspapers!
bios_townspeople_burns
During the meeting, for one minute? I said to myself - I’m not going to asks questions but being Charles, I was the first one on the mike but little did I know Abel LeBlanc was right behind me on the other mike and my god this is ever gave a good speech!

abel

Nothing better than a longshoreman to tell it as it is! Then it was my turn and I was told to speak away from the Mike but this didn’t work but I was concern with one issue only.
charles

When this LNG issue came uo for the first time. I quickly walked into the Liberal building in Fredericton and my main concern was that this could intervered with the Equal opportunity Act.

charles1

You know big industries could approach small towns and demand the same deal as Saint John in which they couldn’t compete. Louis Robichaud must be turning in his grave. I believe that Bernard Lord is breaking the law on this one? But what the hell do I know? But they did debate the same issue on CBC tonight so therefore maybe I am not far off the mark?

Speaking of power? Guess what?

They changed the flag at Fort Latour!

Power of the bloggers!!!

blogglers

It took 4 days for the proper officials to act on this issue but WE DID IT!!!

It only took four day!!!

Now if the Lord Government would move that quick on other New Brunswickers issues?

That would be perfect!

Boy? They sure move in the Irving LNG deal eh? Really fast! No fooling around there.

The Irvings Bureaucrats are hard at work in the Capital and this is the reason this issue is on the top burner.

The Lord Government and the Irvings truly believe that the citizens who are against this deal will go away.

I got news for these people? Sorry! They’re not going to go away with the sunset and the Mayor of Saint John must…I REPEAT MUST hold an news conference and announce that the City is going to go over this tax deal with the Irvings!

The Mayor must admit that it was a mistake to debate this emotional issue with a gun to their heads! Will it happen? Of course not!

While in the Mayor’s office, I discussed this issue with Norm MacFarlane and I compared it to the era of Richard Nixon.

mayor

I’m not saying that he’s a crook. I’m saying that he must tell the public that he made a mistake and the issue of LNG is holding the City back so therefore we’re going to scrap this deal.

I also asked the Mayor that he should go for a stress test and a medical because stress is an awful thing. It sneaks slowly behind you and once it gets an hold on you?

It’s too late!!!

The Mayor told the media that he was going to clean up the garbage in the City of Saint John. < I mean the real garbage >

garbage5

Look at these two girls playing near the left over in the City? Scary!!! Lets see what’s going to happen with this issue.

garbage4

Now, it’s late in the evening and I’m tired so therefore please excuse the grammar and style of this update!!..ok???

Good night!!!

BERNARD LORD SOMEWHERE IN THE MIDDLE!!!

I am not one to blog jokes but an Amercian sent me this one!
Charles 04_07_05 070

A guy was traveling through the United States on vacation when, behold,he lost his wallet and all identification. Cutting his trip short,he attempts to make his way home but is stopped by Customs at the border.

"May I see your identification, please ?" asks the agent.

"I'm sorry, but I lost my wallet," replies the guy.

"Sure, buddy, I hear that every day. "No ID, no crossing the border",says the agent.

"But I can prove that I'm a Canadian!" he said. "I have a picture of Brian Mulroney tattooed on one butt cheek and a picture of Jean Chretien on the other. "This I gotta see" said the agent.

With that, the guy drops his pants and bends over in front of the agent. "By golly, you're right!" exclaims the agent.

Go on home to New Brunswick.

" Thanks!" he says. "But how did you know I was from New Brunswick?"

The agent replies, "I recognized the picture of Bernard Lord in the middle."

CHARLES COMES FACE TO FACE WITH ARTHUR IRVING JUNIOR!!!!!

Busy busy busy…running here running there. My God? If I stay in Saint John?

That Tim Smith is going to kill me. I always believe that I walk fast?
do do
do do
We are taking a lot of pictures and are driving some people nutso! After we leave a certain building? They must say- Who the hell was that?

This morning, we landed in the Mayor’s office and I notice the secretary had a radio on the desk behind her.

She was listening to Talk of the Town on CFBC. So? This means the Office are indeed listening to the callers concerns.

Charles 04_07_05 078

Hey? We need talk shows. Melanson Live with Dennis Melanson was good and it’s a darn shame he didn’t have a last show to say good bye!

Rick Mantle is keeping the pressure on the Mayor’s office to change the LNG deal.

Picture of Rick Mantle and Charles!

rick

There’s a meeting tonight at Harbour View High School on Douglas Avenue at 7:30pm!!!

I will be there with my little camera of course. Lol….

A few days ago while walking past the Irving Golden Ball building in Saint John,

I noticed someone walking in the Irving Headquarters.

At first, I believed it was Kenneth Irving so I shouted at the guy but after a closer look? I made a Boo Boo!

It was Arthur Irving Junior!!!!!

bios_townspeople_burns

Hey? Too late to go back now???

I only met the guy once < was introduced by his Father Arthur >

Anyway, I told the young Billionaire that I was the guy who was protesting a few years ago in front of the Headquarters. < Protesting against Racism >

I added that I always had respect his brother Kenneth and Father.

Tim Smith was watching and he noticed many Irving employees glancing from the windows of the building.

I am very surprised that the Irving Gestapo didn’t rush from the building to rescue Mr.Irving.

I knew that the Billionaire wasn’t comfortable with me, who can blame him?

I asked the Billionaire to have his picture taken with me but Mr.Irving denied my request.

But he did ask me the reason that I wanted a photo?

I explained to Mr.Irving that I was a blogger and I’m certain that he didn’t truly understand so I ended the conversation by saying- Tell your old man that I said hi and also your brother.

I would have love to be a fly on the wall once Arthur Irving Jr walked into the building. He must have been asked a few questions of the goings on outside of the building?…lol

A person must love living in New Brunswick!

A Billionaire walking around freely with no bodyguards around or even our Premier Bernard Lord goes shopping with his family with no security present.

Yes….It’s great.

Hey? Some good news from Saint John!!!

paul zed

I guess Paul Zed’s office sent a Canadian Flag to Randy Nelson from the Leisure Department for Fort Latour.

Saint John June 04-05 009

Sure is nice to have elected officials move on certain issues! Good for Paul Zed!

I want to congratulate Tim on his first blog. It sure received a lot of comments on the blog site and also on the streets of the Loyalist City.

It’s amazing how word of mouth can get around.

Hey anyway to spread the word.

Ok…just rambling here….please excuse the style of this update because I just write the darn thing and send it along the information Highway! Please don’t be afraid to leave a comment because this is what makes this blog a place to debate the issues in the Province of New Brunswick!!!

Bye bye!!!

THE IRVING TELEGRAPH JOURNAL IS CLOSING DOWN????

Boy? These people are very lucky that I’m not in the Capital because it sure wouldn’t have took me long to walk into this so call conference!

Read this one-

Conference looks at ADHD and dangerous driving Last updated Jun 7 2005 12:47 PM ADT

CBC News FREDERICTON – Researchers at a national road safety conference in Fredericton are trying to figure out why people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are more likely to drive dangerously.

Christine Wickens, a graduate student from York University in Toronto, said there hasn't been enough study of the problem. But based on the available research, she said it's clear that people with ADHD get into more trouble on the road than other drivers.
do do
"ADHD drivers tend to be involved in more collisions. They have more traffic citations, particularly for speeding. They're more likely to have had their licences revoked and to drive without a licence."
Wickens said people with ADHD are also more likely to get arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

"What we're interested in really, is trying to understand why that's happening and why ADHD drivers tend to engage in more risky driving behaviour."
Wickens said there are no clear answers as to why people with ADHD are more likely to be a hazard on the road, but she says the disability could be a factor in several ways.

"Whether or not it's increased inattention or the ability to monitor the driving situation, whether it's perceptual difficulties, whether it's their impulsiveness and their inability to make decisions in the roadway environment … we don't know what it is."

Wickens says the researchers are compiling more information on the driving habits of people with ADHD, hoping it leads to some possible solutions.
For example, she says it's possible that people with ADHD could reduce their accident rate if they stopped playing music in their cars and limited all other forms of distraction.

Special training could also help. Wickens says she's working on an intensive driver training course to help people with ADHD drive more carefully.

Who the hell is the National Road Safety Council?

I just wondered if some of its members are from the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission.

I didn’t know any of this so call conference until this morning when I phoned CFBC Talk of the Town.

The host Rick Mantle asked me if I heard the latest news from Fredericton? He read some notes to me over the air and asked me for my views?

I did tell the audience that when I was younger? I had my share of accidents but we must not forget that in those days nobody knew of ADHD.

During the frigate program, I would travel to Moncton and I had no patience whatsoever to follow those trucks. I am very surprised that I didn’t get killed.

The stupid comments made at this conference that people with ADHD shouldn’t be listening to music because they’re easily distracted is a bunch of HOGWASH!!!

They insisted that people with ADHD are distracted very easily!

Hey?? If I see a woman walking around half naked? Will this distract me? Of course it will!

But I sure won’t cause an accident. I haven’t driven a vehicle in 4 years and I don’t care what those racists members of the New Brunswick told the Government that people with ADHD cannot drive a vehicle.

People with true ADHD can traveled in a vehicle all across the country but we educate ourselves that we must take our time.

The way this Conference made it sound? They made us look like fools and this is not right at all!

I am going to get to the bottom of this because this can be a disastrous for our future kids with ADHD! Thank God that I wasn’t in the Capital because surely all hell would have broke loose. Who are those people serving in this so call board?

I will let you know during the next few days. I’m still in Saint John and me and Tim Smith took a lot of nice pictures and we will used them during the next few weeks!

Just to give you an idea what kind of pictures we took? Take a close look at these photos.

This is the office of the Irving Telegraph Journal! You can tell that the paper is going to shut down in the near future because look at the sign.
telegraph2
telegraph1

It’s all destroyed and the Irvings don’t have the money to fixe it! The pictures has the same reputation as the newspaper. The telegraph Journal should have more pride for our tourists. Every City proudly show their newspapers but not this one! I wonder why?

Michael Jackson will be found not guilty and will be found guilty on a minor charge therefore he will be on strict probation for two years.

I am in a big hurry so please excuse the style and grammar of this blog because I wrote it very fast! Bye bye

LOTTERY CORPORATION NARROWLY ESCAPES PUBLIC RELATIONS DISASTER

paul
clone2

On Saturday may 24th, Paul pictured above was at the Millennium Lounge which is located in the Colonial Inns on City Road in Saint John N.B. Paul was a frequent player of the VLT’S at that location. On this particular evening he had been playing for some time but upon finishing his game he tried to cash out his credits, which was in the amount of $25.00.

To his surprise a message came up on the screen saying there was no receipt paper to print the transaction. He spoke to the bartender about this and was told that she would have to take his name and phone number. She also added that he should return the next day to receive his money, so he left the premises.

Three days later, on Tuesday morning he had remembered that he was owned $25.00 and returned to the Millennium Lounge at the Colonial Inns.

Once Paul tried to receive his money the Bartender told him that without a payout slip, they could not pay him!

He then explained the VLT had ran out of receipt paper and that was why he had no payout slip but his name & number were left at the bar so he could return to be paid.

tim vlt

But the bartender on shift that day insisted that he couldn’t be paid without a payout slip.

So Paul returned home and phoned the Atlantic Lottery Corporation in Moncton and to his disappointment he got the same answer from them as he had gotten from the bar. Paul feeling very frustrated at this point told the Lottery Corp.

He would proceed to go to the nearest hardware store and purchase a Sledge Hammer and return to the Colonial Inns and take his frustrations out on the Video Lottery Machines which are located in the Millennium bar Paul said the choice was theirs to make, $25.00 owed to him or thousands of dollars in damage to them?

HAMMER VLT!!!

The Lottery Corporation told Paul they would return his call to let him know what they would do for him.

The following morning Paul received a call from the Atlantic Lottery Corp. and was told to go to the Millennium Bar at the Colonial Inns to receive his $25.00. Once at the bar he was paid his money. Paul explained to the Bartender that it was a matter of principle.

She agreed but also told him that he was now banned from the Colonial Inns property for making threats to damage their Video Lottery Machines.

Paul explained to her that he did not feel this was fair but accepted it and left.

After Paul told me of his situation I decided to ask a few bartenders if this is a common occurrence some did say that it does happen periodically.

I was also told there are times when you are asked to take your payout slips home and bring it back later or next day to be paid because of cash float shortages.

Based on the Millions of dollars involved I cannot believe that people have to get that close to breaking the law or ending up in the courts and possibly receiving a criminal record over such a small amount of money considering the cut between the bars, the Government and the lottery Corporation.

SAINT JOHN SHOULD HAVE RESPECT FOR THE CANADIAN FLAG!!!

My God, the update I wrote on Friday was just terrible grammar wise but it happens sometimes when I’m in a hurry! I guess this one will not be any better. So here we go…..

Boy? What a huge difference 70 miles can make. I asked Abel LeBlanc < Liberal MLA > for a ride to Saint John.

abel_leblanc

I left the Capital and My God was it ever hot!!! < Not complaining > Poor Abel, he had to listen to me complaining about different political issues right till Saint John.

We had the air conditioner on but once we arrive in the Loyalist City all this change!!!

I thanked Abel and quickly left his vehicle but quickly jumped right back in and said- MY GOD??? IT’S COLD!!! WHERE’S MY JACKET!!!

It was windy and cold! Look at all the garbage on the streets and I'm cold and looking for the sun!!

Saint John June 04-05 002
Saint John June 04-05 003

This was the first time that I ever walked the Harbour passage. Everyone was wearing winter jackets compared to the Capital where everyone is half naked.

I passed by Fort LaTour and notice a very disgusting act! Our Canadian Flag was all ripped apart.

Saint John June 04-05 009

Our tourists come to Saint John and the first thing they see is a Canadian Flag half torn. The City of Saint John should have more pride with our Canadian flag.

I made it uptown and visited Tim Smith. We began taking pictures and it was still cold! Take a look at the garbage on the City’s streets? It’s just terrible!

On Saturday, we walked around and I showed Tim Smith and his daughter Sheana one area that I left my mark in the Loyalist City.

I totally forgot about it until we walked by Harbour Station. Former Mayor Shirley MacAlary gave this little gift to me.

Saint John June 04-05 017
Saint John June 04-05 016

It was the days where I stood toe to toe with these bigots members of the C.O.R. Party! < The good old days! > It was the days of the frigate program and it looks as I haven’t change one bite.

These days, I am not battling these bigots but the Irvings and those racist members of the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission.

I am also fighting the Irvings in the issue of ownership of the media.

Hey? I got printed 500 letters to the Editor and suddenly the Irvings orders the papers not to publish my views? What’s wrong with this picture anyway?

Ok..never mind that issue. Maybe the reason that I’m so stubborn is because me mother < yes ME > is born in Glasgow Scotland and as a teenager came to Canada and married my father who’s a pure Acadian!

We all know there’s nothing more stubborn than a darn Scotsman! Hey? How will I look in a kilt? Arrgggg scary eh???

Saint John June 04-05 015

We bumped into a group of people who where attending a fund raising walk for the Loch Lomond Villa. So all is not lost for Saint John.

Saint John June 04-05 014

I bumped into these two elder ladies that I haven’t seen in years. They told me that they always love my views on talk of the town on CFBC in Saint John!
Rose and Paula

Saint John June 04-05 010

Hey? If I’m so famous for all the wrong reasons? Where’s my picture?
