SENATOR IS VERY CONCERN OF THE IRVING MONOPOLY!!!

One Senator cannot believe his ears of the way the Irvings are controlling the newspapers in this province.

The Former New Brunswick Lieutenant Governor seem to be protecting the Irvings! One Senator said- I have been hearing this Irving 200 times since this morning! What's going on???? The Comun Front and Unions are going to say- The Irvings press don't cover their concerns! I'm going to make a presentation in about one hour and they must think that I'm nuts because I'm in and out in and out!!!! The Irvings are getting slaughtered big times and I don't believe that we will see any of this in the Irving's Newspapers and that's too bad!!! Ok,,,,I gotta go and excuse the way I wrote these blogs because I don't even bother going back to read what I wrote!!! Stay tune!!!! I like this Bloggling stuff!!! Too bad that I'm not being paid for it!! It would be a good job!!...lol...

I just gotta say it surely sounds like charlie is having the time of his life it's like you can feel it in his writings he sounds like a kid in a candy store all five brains are dancing in the rain.Good for you charlie and you also deserve to be recognized for the fine job you are doing on getting this out even quicker than the press and the fact that you even hitchhiked to cover concerns of others,Very good!
Hey you reporters out there do me a favor and give charlie a tap on the back when he gets back to Fredericton we know he deserves it.

But will they listen to New Brunswickers concerns?

Anonymous said...

Way to go Charles...at least you had time to get your point across about the Irvings, although I doubt very much it will do any good. He sems to have everyone in his back pocket!!!..I have an idea, you say you get published in the River Valley news, well now is the time for them to up their readership...Why don't you get them going on a phone campaign to get new subscribers, and then we could get another newspaper in Saint John that will print the whole truth and nothing but the truth...I cancelled my paper when they switched to the morning paper delivery and I have had a dozen calls trying to lure me back, but no way!!I would love the chance to have a a newspaper delivered again to my door that had everyones' views, not just "Irvings"

I just read the darn letter about me and the Senate! MY GOD??? LOTS OF MISTAKES IN THAT ONE! MAYBE I SHOULD JUST DELETE THE DARN THING! I must start putting some pride in my blogs!!! By the way? Stay tune? Tim Smith will continue his protest in 9 days from now in front of the Legislature! I don't believe that he should go on a hunger strike but I cannot seem to change his mind!! What your view on this issue????

Anonymous said...

The rumors are flying in Charlotte County, I guess that the people that were busted last week in the drug raid are very prominent people of the community. I have been checking everyday for their names in the paper but
to no avail. If they are who the rumors are saying all I can say if its true its a real disgrace to New Brunswick. I for one will be very ugly since this prescription drug epidemic has financially raped me of my 25 years working. My husband was an injured worker who was prescribed these
legal heroin pills who ended up with a severe problem with them. I never knew until it was way too late that the pills that he was prescribed was heroin. Lets just wait and see what will become of this. I also wanted to mention that the cocaine that was found on an Irving ship was never
mentioned again. Also the prominent business man that was busted in a marijauna growing operation last summer in Saint John was never mentioned
either. I want to know who is ruining our Province and if the privacy act is protecting them. Lets just wait and see.

So Tim Smith is heading back to the Capital? Is there anything he needs? A tent? A stove? Clothing,
etc.? I'm sure he'll get
support from most people who check out your blogs,
but we should try to do
more.

Please tell Tim Smith not to go on hunger strike. He must not risk his life. Just demonstrate day in and day out.

As far as Bernard Lord is concerned he is the most unethical and immoral individual we ever had as a premier. He has become a burden on NB society. Sooner we get rid of this burden better it is.

Anonymous said...

Best of luck & God bless you, Tim, as you do battle with this witless government!!

Tell Tim that they are going to be discussing the proposed RACINO
tonight at common council. The agenda is found on page A2 of todays paper.
There are 3 people set to talk about the RACINO, Kim Hunter, Peter Bardsley and someone who is representing the Royal Canadian Legion. Thought that I would let you know just in case you missed it.

Mr. Smith:

Please reconsider. I think your time and energy is best served focussing your attention on your daughter.

On the contrary, you are not just doing this for you, your daughter will benefit also and many more families. Keep up the good work!

Demonstration is a great idea and Tim Smith should go for it. But do not go on hunger strike for the sake of his daughter. Given the attitude of Lord that since few suicides is Ok and it is not a big deal. He may take the same approach that if one person dies of hunger strike it is Ok. There is simply no compassion when it comes to Bernard Lord and his government and thus Tim must not take that risk.

Hey, what about credit card addiction?????????

Anonymous said...

Comparing credit cards with VLTs is comparing apples with oranges and belittling the serious problem of VLT addition. When you use credit card you get some goods and services in return. If debt gets too high you can pay by small installments or some declare bankruptcy and pay nothing. That does not apply to VLTs. Must be supporter of Bernie Lord who posted this.
Bernie Lord belitles the problem of VLT addiction also.

I hope there will be strong support for tim smith the lord government has to be held responsable for the deaths and devistation in this province due to vlts I think 10-15 years and two governments later should have been long enough to see that these machines are highly addictive and very damaging to society I agree 100% that the time of play should be brought up to 5 or 6 pm to allow people down time from this distruction,How any governing body can purposely be that greedy for revenue is something I never thought I would be witness to in my lifetime but this just goes to show the severity of undereducated elected officials occupying office today,Creative government is now a thing of the past-Can any person out there please post anything at all that bernard lord has done that has put this province in a better light because I have searched my mind all morning and cannot come up with one thing,on the other hand I am able to remember at least 30 things that he has either destroyed or ruined beyond repair /Good luck Mr.Smith you are definitly going to need it with this man.

It is so sad that Tim Smith has to go on a hunger strike again. No one can trust this guy Bernard Lord. Tim was lied to and many were lied to before that and are being lied to as time goes by.

In the House:
Ms. Weir:
My final question is for the Premier. My question is, What are you going to tell Tim Smith this time?
Mr. Lord: I do not know what “this time” is, coming from the member for Saint John Harbour.I have ministers who have met with Tim Smith. We have had ministers meeting together with officials, with people from PSASC as well, looking at the gaming policies in New Brunswick. I know that there are members of this House . . . This morning we heard the member for Moncton North talk about gaming in this province while he is advocating more gaming in New Brunswick with casinos
and racinos throughout the province.
We have adopted a very clear policy. There was a referendum in New Brunswick, and all people in New Brunswick had a chance to voice their opinions on this. They made a decision to maintain a regulated VLT system in New Brunswick. We will continue to regulate it, and we will continue to examine what other regulations we can bring in.
===========================
This f******g Bernard Lord makes me sick.

Anonymous said...

There was an article in thurday paper about a study done on vlts thrown out into communities and it said that this is exploitation at the highest caliper.Tim I don't think you could have picked a better time to expose bernard's greed and self governing style then right now at a time when he says the liberals are the bad guys good for you I hope the national party sees this member at his best performance on being a non considerate cold hearted discrase to the people of this province exploiting the volnurable at it's best go,go,go lets see how many votes he can muster up with this type of exposure.

Anonymous said...

Hey I really wish your blog was working better there are some good
comments in there that makes me feel better toward this situation
you should give the other members the once over tomorrow to go and
have a look for themselves what the people are saying about our leader maybe a collection of these comments should be read aloud in the house as they build up to show bernard what people really feel about how he sees things ---Listen thank you very much for all you are doing and have done for myself and many others on this issue I can honestly say you are just as much a part of this as I am /No more No less...Timothy Smith.

Anonymous said...

First-I agree that charles has done alot on this issue for tim via his blogsite as well as being at the legeslator all the time helps too!!
Second-But most important we all know by now that you could read 500 letters and everyone of them in favor of action against vlts to Mr.lord but to no avail because he would come up with an answer for all of them to suit the way he ALONE see's it.
I would like to think with all of the attention that this issue has been getting all winter and spring the two opposition parties would ban together and not beg but DEMAND changes to the operation of these machines,Just to be fair I don't see them rushing out the front doors telling the public they are doing anything different but to bark only in the house need we remind these parties name calling and blame gaming does not save lives either so to that those who have TRUE concern for the weak PLEASE stand up and be counted!!!!

Anonymous said...

Bernard Lord is a sleazeball and he will do nothing. We all know that. Liberals are a disappointment as they are just coasting along and taking no firm position on any issue. Liberals better pay attention otherwise they will pay heavily at the polls next time around. NDP, they will never form a government in N.B. Although Elizabeth Weir is at least asking questions on VLTs. Generally Opposition is a great disappointment.

Anonymous said...

I'm sick of bernard hiding behind his ancient refurendum on this issue as far as I can see Tim Smith isn't asking him to remove or reduce vlts he is simply asking the lord government to reduce the hours of opperation to satisfy the majority of those who are unable to deal with this affliction which I as a voter in this province have no problem agreeing with so where is the problem other than to say he's right lord is as addicted as the next person.

Anonymous said...

Liberals federally are into the sewers. NB provincial Liberals should stop playing coy on all issues otherwise they are doomed too. They may be up in polls but their impotent approach will send them plummeting down.
Tories are in dumps and there was a site call recallbernardlord.com where people could express their frustrations. Now there is no site to express their views other than this one which deals with many issues. Liberals missed the boat there too.

Anonymous said...

Don't hate me but I voted for lord,ok thats not my problem I have been catching up on all this vlt business and I do have a problem with the way my leader is handling this issue,I don't believe he should be using the referendum to explain his position,I base this on the fact that Mr. Smith is not asking to remove or reduce vlts but to only reduce time played and for this fact I agree with tim that this is a key issue and I hope for his safety the a proper conclusion can be reached.

Tim Smith should eat this time for the sake of his daughter, but he can
take another approach, Since he will be talking to many people and with
the Media's backing, I am sure that he will hear many sad stories of people who have committed suicide because of these machines. I think that he should do a VLT Obituary or a In Memory Of through your blog site.
Maybe this would grab the attention of these heartless politicians.
Since the names of living people on petitions do not bother them, I think
that a list of people who have died because of VLT ADDICTION might shed a
different light on the situation.

Charles - you aren't out of control, you are entirely about trying to get others to be out of control. Maybe the Liberals are agreeing with the PCs because they are right and you are off base. Try moderating your views and working with the institutions rather than always against everything. Not everything is bad or good, and you are only hurting yourself by being the protester supreme against all forms of government. Just wait - if the Liberals ever get in power they will ignore you just as everyone else tries to do. Maybe you should hope that someone does take a pot shot at you - it may be your one chance for 15 seconds of fame.

I just wanted to add my two cents worth. I think you (Charles Leblanc) and Tim Smith are doing what needs to be done ( and doing a fine job). With all of the goverment corruption in this province, as well as the enormous amount power and control the Irvings have with their billions of dollars , and politicians in their back pocket. We need people like you guys to speak out for the victims of gambling addiction, people who live in poverty, as well as the Ritalin issue. The people are supposed to have the right of free speach, but except for this blog, CFBC's Talk of the Town, and mabey the RiverValley News, there are very few other places where people can express their opinions, certainly not in the major news papers of this province. We need more people like you and Tim Smith, we need more outlets where people can express their opinion. There used to be a talk show in Frdericton onetime...don't know what happened to that. Another thing is we the people have to let the goverment and the Irvings know when we are unhappy about something they are doing, by getting out and protesting, petitions are fine, but I belive it makes a lot stronger impression when people get out in a group to protest, even if you don't say or do anything , just as long as you are there is what counts. We had about 200 people show up for the LNG protest, which is great, and I imagine the Irvings and the politicians took notice, but if there had of been 2000, or 10,000, we might have made a big difference. I want to also take my hat off to Rick Mantle of Talk of the Town, I hope he and CFBC can keep that show going, I heard CFBC will be going up for sale, if it does I bet the Irvings will try to get it, then the talk show will be off the air for good. Anyway Tim and Charles keep up the good work, and Charles I wouldn't be to upset by that guy that told you to"watch yourself" all through history people that have tried to do the right thing have been opposed and threatened.

When Bernie Lord gave away $ 6 million to Molson he was screwing family business of Moosehead in Saint John. By giving Irvings $150 million or so in tax break on LNG he is screwing all Saint Johners minus the Irvings.

Probably he thought he would appease Saint John by giving $150 million tax break to Irvings, saying this will create jobs as he thinks he is creating jobs in Moncton – 25 jobs for $6 million. Big deal. Taking away 15 jobs from Moosehead. What he is really doing to Saint Johners is that Irving gets $150 million break and rest of property tax payers make up the difference. Those municipal services cost lot of money and someone has to pay and you and I will pay and our children will pay and their children will pay. That is the deal Bernard Lord made

Anonymous said...

Lord came to Saint John and said majority of Saint John residents support tax break of over $100 million for LNG terminal. Now a survey shows two third oppose the tax break. Where did Lord get his figures? Man has made career out of misleading people.

Lord paid reporters, taxpayer’s money, to go with him on his trip to France. He desperately wanted coverage.

Now his government spent $20,000.00 of taxpayer’s money to buy tickets for civil servants to fill the hall for his State of the Province speech. We New Brunswickers are just patsies for Bernard Lord.

Bernard Lord continues to say that he did a great favour to the people of NB by giving tax breaks to Irvings. He says Province will lose no tax but it will create jobs. 20 jobs for $112 million or so. Imagine how many salaries $112 million can pay which now will remain deposited in Irving accounts plus hundreds of millions in profits. Lord is selling us out. And we the joe-public will pay through our nose to make up the difference.

charlie, you are right on when you speak of the irving monopoly. this is a very dangerous situation. the irvings control everything we read. isn't it interesting how silent the papers were on lng, so silent people didn't even know there were discussions on development of the site, so silent people didn't even know what lng was. the tax deal seems to have awoke the people. they should have paid their fair share of taxes and let sleeping dogs lie. people would have stayed asleep. this is the same silence we the public have to deal with when there is a dispute against the irving industry. full page ads displaying their side of the argument and nothing to report on the positive side for the opposition. another topic is the irving security force. some think we are paranoid but i was told from a former officer who shall remain nameless that they have files on all present and former employees and blackballing relatives from irving jobs is common practice. they are an extremely dangerous, and powerful family. they control politicians, (including our present premier lord and took mckenna on and put him in his place). they control our mayor and recently ambushed deputy hooton in a private meeting in the mayors office the thursday before good friday. real cute, mayor norm, three irvings or their excutives and poor michelle. she is now been put in her place. you have the group of businessmen that ran in the last election (10 or more all with same agenda, of which 6 got elected) coincedence? 6 voted for tax deal. i would like to know where the campaign money really came from. enough rambling, keep up the new independant news page charlie tks.

He will be dead and gone before the 25 years of the tax break that he gave the Irvings so what does he care.

I believe that Ottawa should send some people to New Brunswick to convince us that we are also Canadian. It sure doesn't seem like we are any part of the big picture. Is there any other Province that one corporation controls their Province? Why has Ottawa allowed this to happen to us and why do we have to pay for it. They want to stop spending all of their energy and money on trying to keep Quebec from seperating and start looking at the Province's that have already been by one corporation.

The poison lady, Brenda Fowlie, minister of Environment and Local Government has done it again. This time she spread the poison right in the legislature by revealing some personal & confidential information about another MLA. All other jurisdiction show that such a breach of trust ends in Minister resigning. She is dogged that she would not resign. Mr. Lord is defending her. How low Mr. Lord will stoop to hold on to power.

He has too many scandals now. Orimulsion, Molson, LNG, financial mismanagement, sqandering tax payer's money, healthcare fiasco, VLts, and on and on. Now intimidating citizens by revealling personal information. As a citizen this should scare the dickens out of you.

Very well put another suggestion I would like to put forth with all the borderline slanderous remarks comming from Mr.Lord as this is the only tool he knows how to use to defend his mismanagings of this Province is We the people should purchase a full length Mirror for the front of his seat in the house so whenever he stands up to bark his remarks of school boy antics at those who are much more mature than him he can see the truth about the actuall person these things should be truely directed at.

Watched Huntjens on Voice of the Province. What a bozo. He stumbled on the question of Ritalin, he said he could not do anything because doctors prescribed it and then he said if he interferes he will be sued for malpractice. Malpractice?? Is he doctor or a minister of the province? Then would he agree with assisted suicide because doctors do it? I suppose he will not risk the malpractice.

Then to a caller he said that people think that government owes them, owes them jobs, it does not and people must help themselves. He is right only we owe him taxes and he owes nothing in return. We are lucky that he agreed to be our minister of F & CS. Real bozo.

The host was very disappointing. When some Tory called from Campbellton and praised Huntjens and Lord government, the host said, “ I love it, I love it.” Apparently he was thrilled by the praise more so than Huntjens. He also tried to depict Bernard Lord as saviour of NB by giving a lousy video clip of Lord with his usual babble and verbiage talking about “affordable housing”—plenty of affordable housing for him. All in all it was a disgusting performance by Huntjens and the host.

He was happy to hear this and will run to the Cabinet and tell them that Ritalin is allright because of one caller. I am certain and I'll bet my life on this one? Once the Liberals come in power? They will ordered a study on Ritalin. No doubt in my mind!!!! I would love to say more but I'' save this for a future blog!!!!
