There is some problem on the front page.

Bernard Lord let the people down on lot fronts. Non-action on Ritalin and VLTs are amongst the many failures of his administration. I hope voters in Saint John Harbour will remember on November 14.

Pipe dream it is not the Premiers fault that 52% voted yes for VLT'S. Hey I play the VLT's and so do many other people and they do not go overboard on them. If people can't control there own actions that is there fault don't blame the government because you were stupid enough to spend your life savings on a VLT. It is sad to see that we are still a province who cannot blame ourselves we always have to blame government over our own actions. Gambling is all over the world and has been going on for a hundred years, if you cannot control yourself on VLT'S then you shouldn't go near them, it is your own fault that you got addicted not the governments.

Addiction is a disease, alcoholics aren't to blame for being alcoholics, neither are drug addicts. An addiction is when the body or mind craves a stimulant in order to function, that's why it's a recognized disorder. From the above post we might as well blame diabetics for being 'addicted' to insulin injections or hemophiliacs for craving blood transfusions.

There has been lots of studies on VLT's and how they are DESIGNED to be addicted. Not everyone gets addicted of course, just like not everyone gets addicted to booze, drugs or insulin, but those that do are not 'at fault'.

Nobody has ever said to get rid of gambling, what has been said is get rid of VLT's or regulate the hours more strictly, that's hardly the same thing. VLT's are ten times more addictive than other forms of gambling.

10:20 AM what you said is real vote getter for Lord, especially in this by-election in Saint John .. jus blame the people themselves. I hope Saint Johners will remember that on Novermber 14.

Lord government also blames previous governments for all the ills which afflict New Brunswick today or it blames and the feds. You are a typical represetation of the Lord government. Too bad so sad.

Please give Hooton the Booton.

Hey Liberal just remember you will be sitting in the opposition office no matter what for at least 2 more years so let's all be Rooton for Hooton yaaaaa

Anonymous said...

No Liberal here. Just fed up with stupid Lord government. Cannot take it anymore.

Lord and Hooton must be rooten out.

11:44 I have to disagree with you on this one, look at the McKenna government, forced cities to join, had poor working conditions for CUPE members and had cut more beds in the health care system then any other provincial government has done in the history of the legislature. Don't beleive me check the facts. A liberal government federally or provincially has to be ruled out they have stolen too much from the country and they must be stopped. The Gomery report says it all how did Paul Martin being the Finance Minister now know where all the money was going? which leads me to my next question, how do we have a Prime Minister who didn't know that money was being swindeled out of tax payers pockets for his ad agencies to run liberal campaigns? These are facts that cannot be disputed, your facts are that you work in the oppositon office and you are power hungry to get in the Government members office but you can't(well at least for two more years). So get the facts and stop going on what Charles Leblanc says we alread know.

Pleased by Lord government we are ROOTON FOR HOOTON here in SJ and it will show tonight with the support..

Why are you living in the past? McKenna is gone from the provincial scene. Who cares. It is Lord dat we have to worry about. He has screwed the province the most. He screwed Saint John especially. He says LNG is good for Saint John but it will cause environmental problems for St. Andrews. Talking about hypocrisy. He wants rest of us to pay higher property taxes and gives Irvings over $125 million in tax break. He gives Molson $6 million to establish in Moncton by causing unfair competition for Mousehead. He now wants to put 4th Cath Lab in Moncton when all the expert advice goes against it. This man is a screw up big time.

Saint John wake up and booten Lord's candidate. This is not from a Liberal. This is from an ordinary taxpayer.

Give Hooten the booten tonight and on November 14.

GET REAL the people of Saint John Know for a fact the only reason Hooten is running at all is for Bernard Lord.
They also know on that same token Mr. Lord is ONLY for Northern New Brunswick and as soon as this Bi-Election is over he will once again CLOSE the door to Saint Johners.

He has screwed the City Of Saint John over for far too long and their not gonna take it anymore.
They are seeing RED at the thought of Bernard playing his political gains oops I mean games of deceit and lies.
Blue stands for water not land so go jump, Overboard with Mr. Lord. Which by the way was a great poem by Tim Smith of Saint John.

Mr. Lord has proven without a doubt his Government is not open to any type of Negotiations not even when it involves saving Lives.
IE: Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Seniors Complexes, Proper diagnoses of Ritalin Veterans, proper Regulation of VLT addiction, Prescription Drugs and the list goes on and on, Lies, Lies and more Lies seems to be the menu of the day served all day everyday.

Further more if Mr. Lord respects the Veterans of this Province he should cancel his visit to the port city on Nov 11th to save himself the shame as everybody knows it was his Government who sued them and also as a caller had pointed out this morning on Talk of the town (CFBC) he has held power for over six years and the caller knows of at least 6 Legions where the disabled Veterans do not even have proper access to get to the washroom without humiliation.
I wonder if this would have been a problem if it was a member of his Family in that situation?

Good Luck your gonna need it!

Well Mr.Lord is screwing us Provincially, Mr.McFarlane is screwing us municiply all we have left is to get screwed from within, riding by riding so why wouldn't Mr.Lord finish the job?

Once he completes his total distruction of the City of Saint John he can then pass whats left over to the Irvings as a gift which they should enjoy very much as there will be no one left to fight them on proper air quality,Water quality, and land quality
Once they have completed their distruction of the City of Saint John lets just hope the Earth tilts to the left just enough to hide it all under the Ocean.

2:19 PM right on. We cannot take it anymore .Incompetence of Lord government is obvious. One minister had to resign because of that and now second. What more proof is needed? writing is on the wall. Bye bye Bernie. If Hooton wins then it will be a dark day in NB. We will prove that we can be fooled. I do not think so. Saint John has suffered enough under Lord. Enough is enough. Kick Lord's butt on Nov. 14.

Charles, what kind of nonsense have you posted today - saying that 75% of children who are prescribed Ritalin end up on drugs or commiting suicide or living off the government. I don't believe this for a second - you must only be talking about yourself. You also say there are 47,000 children on Ritalin. Do you really believe that number, knowing that we have only 370,000 people in this province and they aren't all children.

Anonymous said...

Diane: Does that justify Lord's inaction at all? I do not think so.

Spinks said...

Um... Diane unless there was a mass migration overnight there are more than 370,000 people in NB. It's more like 730,000.

As for 47,000 kids on Ritalin, I'll agree with Diane, is that true? It seems a bit high.

Anonymous said...

There may be a slight difference in numbers that still does not justify the inaction of Lord government. As is the case on many other files. It is a deadbeat government.

Spinks said...

Sure, but what's a slight difference? Are we talking 46,700 instead of 47,000 or 500 or 12 or 100,000? A little bit of accuracy for clarity purposes doesn't hurt. Each kid matters but you tackle a problem differently depending on the scope of it.

Anonymous said...

you might get those numbers from a previous post charlie did about bernard richard back aways I thought I saw the number 43,000 but I'm just not quite sure maybe this will help charlie's memory and he can dig that info up again??

Anonymous said...

Charles can be pretty flamboyant at times, but you'll notice that the comment says "end up on drugs or committing suicide". If you are taking Ritalin then quite obviously you are on drugs.

Blogger Charles LeBlanc said...

The number 47.000 was on the front page of the Irving Moncton Transcript. Now as for the suicide and drugs? This is a fact and I heard this many many many times over. You're on drugs < ritalin > since a child? You go to higher drugs. Don't forget also that the New Brunswick Human Commission is very clear. You can dig a hole with another person. If you have ADHD you will be paid a lower wage doing the same level of work. You are not capable of learning a trade and you are not allowed to drive a car. Don't get me goig with the Commission because I'm still waiting for my case that happen to me at the Legislature two weeks ago. Which remind moi??? I didn't receive a reply from their office. I believe that I will pay the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission a visit tommorrow.....

6:20 Ritalin leads to addiction of more dangerous drugs. Ritalin is a prelude to bigger disaster. You want to nip the problem in the bud. Same way you put one dallar in VLTs and it escalates from into full fledged addiction and to crimes.

Anonymous said...

Well I guess it is back to this old bashing game again, the only time that New Brunswickers get productive is when they can blame others for their issues, we must remember that we had a cnance to vote this current Lord government out of Office but we didn't do that as yet did we?

It seems that all NBers can do is open their big Mouths and complain. Well, we can either go on complaining, or really send a message on election day. it is our dhoice so let us quite bickering, and start making a difference and for Goodness sake, don't vote for the Fay NDP candidate we don't need that in power.

Anonymous said...

Yes time for action. We must send a strong message to Lord through this by-election in Saint John.

Anonymous said...

YEs, time to vote in a new suit to kick our asses!

Anonymous said...

Let's all be Rooton for Hooton on election days guys. Ed cannot even speak publically, we do not need this kind of guy in the legislature who cannot speak to the powering government for his people.

Anonymous said...

Let us kick some butts. Lord's butts. Booten the Hooton.
