DID MICHELLE HOOTEN CRACKED UP YESTERDAY AT UNBSJ?????

I just received an email from an anonymous individual this evening.

H-Happy H[1].

The citizen asked me to give the person a phone call and this is the story.

Yesterday Michelle Hooten was invited to speak to a group of students at UNBSJ.

quad

Before the meeting was held, there were some rules I guess.

The students will be allowed to ask some questions but the professor wasn’t.

film2

I guess the question period went ok until the professor demanded that he be allowed to ask one question.

The question was about the LNG deal???

a700
LNG-advice

Michelle gave an answer and the professor called her A LIAR in front of all the students.

I guess Michelle Hooten got more upset once she noticed a student holding a sign Rooten Hooten. < something like that >

She quickly confronted the student who was holding the sign in a democratic system.

DepMayor_Hooton-May2004

She was very upset with the young individual.

So what’s going on here anyway????

Could it be that Michelle is cracking up during the election????

Did the pressure finally get to her???? Is she cracking up?

H-Happy H[1].

I really feel bad for Hooten because it’s not really her fault.

Bernard Lord did to Hooten like the Romans did to the Christians by throwing them to the Lions in the Coliseum.

1017lion

This election has nothing to do with Hooten.

This has to do with Bernard Lord!!!

Charles 04_07_05 070

There’s so much hated towards the Premier that it wouldn’t have matter which candidate would have been nominated.

I believe that Michelle Hooten would have done well under the Liberal banner.

She only has been in public office for two years and Bernard Lord threw this maybe long term politician to the Lions.

lions

There’s many angry and hungry Lions in Saint John Harbour.

By-election

So? Is Michelle Hooten cracking up from the pressure?

Hey? There’s still 11 days left before November 14th. Once she gets slaughtered on election day? She could could mentally destroyed for life! But the blame goes to Bernard Lord.

Ho-before-after

Should be very interesting during these next few days.

Maybe someone out there was at that meeting could add some more on this pressure up story????

There's a lot of lions in that riding who are very thristy for change and Bernard lord should have known better and Hooten have known better than to run under Bernard Lord.

These lions in Saint John Harbour are very thristy for change!!!!!

Wow good job charlie this info isn't even out there yet.

I heard she walked up to the young man and took his sign and also snarrled at another person and your right she was very upset with the professor.

After she gave her answer to the professor he said I was for you but now that I know the difference I am no long in your court.

This will come out today I'm sure,Should be interesting.

I still can't believe with Mr.Lord's very low rating approval,Why in the world Mrs.Hooten would put her career on the line for this man.

you are also right on when you say it really doesn't matter who Mr.Lord would have put in that position the results would be the same.

I guess Mrs.Hooten is finding out the hard way that politics can get very personal and can do a lot of damage to your credibility if your not prepared.

Politics is always about taking a risk. Few of these comments are coming from people within the riding. It's understandable that those outside the riding-and even many inside the riding would want to 'send a message'. However, many within the riding also no doubt realize that picking a tory candidate is their best chance at actually getting something from the provincial government. A liberal certainly isn't going to get anything from Lord, but politicians are well known for their largesse when supported.

The question is, how many are of each view...

The student is concidering pressing charges because Mrs.Hooten grabbed the his sign right out of his hands in front of other students I guess she even had three males with her I don't know if they were security or what their purpose was as this story is still unfolding.

It was not in the night - it was the day.

Calling someone out on an issue isn't partisan.

Blogger Charles LeBlanc said...

Was it during the day? I'll change it!!!!! Well....the bottom line of this blog is that Bernard Lord is not very right liked in this Province and I feel sorry for Michelle.

"A liberal certainly isn't going to get anything from Lord.." 8:10 AM no one is going to get anything out of Lord. He is a dud, dud. Useless.Incompetent. As far as professor telling Ms. Hooton that she is a liar is very refreshing. He/she told her who she really is. Does she really care for Saint John Harbour folks? Come on, now. Hooton is Hooton. An oppotunist. That is where the lie lies.

Lord himself is good at lying. She is a good student of Lord then. This whole nightmare of Lord should end. As far as Hooton is concerned she will be history after November 14.

Charles: Bernard Lord is not very well liked in this province is an understatement. People just had it with him. He thinks he can fool anybody. Lates victims, Saint John Harbour voters.

The way Lord is behaving and another Minister gone his government may fall before the this year ends. Who knows. Politics is a very unpredictable game.

You're right 8:51 calling someone on an issue isn't partisan but the liar comment from what one can only assume is a respected professor in front of his/her students seems out of line. Better for the professor to disagree with her and tell her why than calling her a liar. That would have shown some class.

My daughter was at unbsj yesterday when Michelle Hooton lost it. She walked over to the guy who is in his late 20's and she asked for his sign with 3 large body guards in the room with her. She took his sign that said I'm not Rooton for Hooton and folded it up, then put it in her pocket. This young man was intimated by the 3 large men there and didn’t know what to do.
I would love to see her do that type of intimation without the body guards.
Her arrogance that she is showing is not what this city needs on city council or as MLA.

Charlie I now believe you do have a following of readers who believe in getting the message out and the proof is in this story I don't know who gave you the heads up on this? but you were the first to carry it good for you!and most of the story seems to be true.
there has been a few calls into talk of the town discussing it this morning.

Anonymous said...

9:38 AM her arrogance is showing long before she is elected as an MLA. Imagine once she gets elected. You will have to go through a long line of body guards then others before you could say hello.

Only Lord started this business of body guards. Previous Premiers never bothered with it. It shows how Lord distances himself from public and Hooton has already started it.

DO YOU REALLY WANT TO ELECT THIS LADY AS YOUR MLA????

Michelle Hooton is not without problems that is for sure. She played a big part of Saint John's LNG deal; Councillor Court wanted to have someone second his vote so we the taxpayers could more informed and make sure we had the municipal tax dollars we need, from billionaires. She chose not too. She met with the Irvings and probably more deals were made then for her; we will never know all the steps that lead to this moment for her. But this is not about her it is about Saint John; she forgot us. She never was for the people or giving ordinary citizens a fair shake. She only played good person bad person scenerio; we all seen through that because this would only give Michelle Hooton the power to control what was said and again to shut Ivan Court up. Yes she has the experience to act like she didnot know what was going on; the only thing she never counted on was the citizens seeing through her act. She wants to go all the way in politics but not at the taxpayers expense; she had a chance to help us but turned her back on us. No matter what is said the thruth is she is not the best person at present to run for any office. Don't let the Lord government fool you again, we will be ignored until the next election. If Lord wants our vote he has to prove by action not words which all we have been getting. We don't want to hear "Mr. Speaker, Mr. Speraker"; give him a slap in the face he needs. He never sits in the house and answers to anyone. He can't walk alone (fear), because he knows people can't take it more anymore. We won't forget the deal that gave millions away while all other LNG deals give the areas what is rightfully theirs. We wouldn't have to beg for money if the Billionaires paid their share. Lord does not care for the poor, working poor and people who live from food bank to food bank.
They maybe one pay cheque from losing everything. Give Hooton a Booton.

Michelle (Chase) Doherty-Hooton knows exactly what she's doing. If she isn't elected Nov. 14th then she still has her position with the city. If she had any integrity or sense of morals, she would have stepped down as deputy mayor. Campaigning full time can only mean less time spent doing her job as depty mayor & that means representing the city less!! Gee, I wonder where 'her' allegiances lie?

Under that pearly white veneer lies a person driven by how it benefits her so don't be mislead by biblical quotes, family value statements or anything else she 'reads' as it's all window dressing.

Sixteen months as deputy mayor is hardly sufficient ammo to think of becoming an MLA. We need a person with good business accumen who has dealt with the public in a major way, not someone who used to sell flowers or pasta. Someone who can think on their feet & not attack when the pressure is on. Perhaps Ms. Hooton needs a course in media training to keep her emotions neutral.

I wonder what her 'crystal ball'' is telling her these days!!

Anonymous said...

She doesnot make a good Deputy Mayor we have to wait to get rid of her. Don't give this air head any power.

Anonymous said...

And do not give useless Bernard Lord endorsement after all the damage he has done to this province.

Michelle Hooten is an embarrassment to herself her business and her party. How desperate are the PC's to nominate a candidate that is so obviously out of her league as a councillor let alone a deputy mayor. What an embarrassment to our City. She can't even discuss issues with university students how can we expect her to be a legislator.

Not Rootin' for Hootin

Charlie, Whats the name of her business in the City Market? I do not want to give her one cent of my money nor do my family. We just do not know which business she owns and we shop at the City Market alot!

"I don't believe Bernard Lord wants people who are willing to think on their own, or people who would dare question his authority, let alone his agenda."
I agree with you jwmcq but Lord has no agenda other than promoting himself. The man himself is completely incompetent.

I was out for the better part of the day volenteering to help pass out information flyers for the LNG and FAIR TAXATION group starting on Douglas Ave. and I was quite surprised that a few people along that route told me they were for Hooten up until this morning when they heard about the University incedent but they have now givin up on that idea.
We also went on the side streets off of Douglas Ave also Metcalf St.,Cedar St.,parts of Main St. and a few other streets as well.
The odd person would catch you at their door and ask what the flyer was about,After telling them about it they had the same response as Douglas Ave. Residents
which to me does not look good for the P.C.Party.

Anonymous said...

does anyone remember 58 to 0?

it seems to me to very evident that lord may be heading in the same
direction, for exactly the same reasons. the power elite in the p.c. party do not want
anyone to rock their boat, so the voters get nothing and lose much of
what they have.

The last time this happened we the members of the party re wrote
the constitution of the party to get rid of the leader.

Now might be a good time to talk to the riding presidents and see if
anyone outside of saint john is as unhappy as saint john.

All it takes is 32 riding
presidents to recall the premier, and the government does not have to
fall to do it!!

This attitude on the part of the elected leaders is the reason that the majority of children leave the province when they can. the young people recognize that there is no future for them in new brunswick. and the elected members will not work toward fixing that problem.

Also remember: when the first refinery was built, the workers who
actually did the work were imported from italy and other countries, then sent home when the job was finished.

How many skilled tradespeople are left in n.b.?

Dear Mr. LeBlanc
This is the student that released the story to Rick Mantle today. I called Rick to help inform the citizens in the Saint John harbour election to know what Ms. Hooton said to my class at UNBSJ. Also I had my Professor confirm my story today on talk of the town for those who listened. So to begin our class studies politics, so our PROF thought it would be a good idea to bring all three candidates in (Robiouchard, Doherty, Hooton). The candidates were to come in and tell us about their party not about there ideologies. Hooton did the opposite. She said she did not prepare to talk to us so she would shoot from the "cuff". After she was done her spiel she was ready for questions, the first question came from a fellow student of mine who asked about small business taxes. She answered him rudely and told him "that she had been a business woman since she was 19 years old and that he didn’t know what he was talking about". After that I asked the question why she thought it would be fair for her to keep her position as deputy mayor and accept the salary that all citizens of the city pay her while she is only serving a select group of people and that was the Saint John harbour riding. She said I was "wrong"!!! I said excuse me how could I be wrong, I asked where you were last night (referring to her being at the debate) and that there was a mayor's meeting two weekends ago in PEI and the mayor was not in Canada so it is her job to be acting mayor, this meeting just happened to be the same day as her PC nomination. She told me that this was not the case that it’s not her job to be there or to tell who or who not to go and basically yelling her response at me. She then saw me roll my eyes and pointed her finger at me and told me not to roll my eyes at her. My professor stopped that question and proceeded on. An older student brought up the LNG question so that it could be clarified. She said that on the long weekend she was out of town but on Sunday she had a private meeting with the mayor and the mayor asked her not to tell anyone else of this new situation. That Monday the council had a 6 minute meeting to inform them of this and they had till 12midnight to approve of this. At first she said she was against two things (1) the deal and (2) the process, and that night at council the motion was accepted. She said she began thinking that how could only one person (that being Hooton) stand up against the Irving’s(But it was not just her against the Irving’s as she made it seem). After that she said that she could not support a councilor who thought he was bullet proof and continue this grandstanding that he was performing. So she would let it slide. She wasn’t willing to get up on her chair and start waving her arms and screaming. So when this councilor put this motion through that at this point she was only against the (1) process and that a certain "spin doctor" might have you to believe other wise. This was when Professor A (use A not to reveal his identity because I did not ask for permission to use his name) PROF A was not the actual PROF of the class he was invited by the actual PROF. He spoke up and said how can you say you’re not contradicting yourself when you just flip flopped between point (1) and (2). Ms. Hooton began to answer him but the actual professor of the class asked him to leave and there were some words between the two(Hooton and PROF A) until PROF A left the room. The student with the sign at this time stood up and said that he was leaving the room because he felt it was not right for the Professor not to be able to voice his opinion. Class quickly ended after this and the student came back into the room. He was sitting there when Ms. Hooton came over to where he was sitting and demanded that he give her the sign, that read "I’m not rooton for Hooton" this was a sign on paper not one over her campaign signs. She was with three men two of which where bigger men and a smaller fellow. The student gave her the sign and she folded it up put it in her jacket and left and left. If you need any more conformation of this I think there are 100 students in my class to verify this. It should be time that the residents of Saint John harbour give hoot the boot. Aslo Proof A may have this on a tape recoder as he did tape the other two candidates. I'll get back to you if he has this.

Subject at hand? You've changed man!

The student's testimony above tells me that Hooton is the biggest hypocrit. There is a big hypocrit in the legislature already and his name is Bernard Lord. We do not need another one of his kind.

At the meet and greet Hooten had on campus there were no more than 7 people to visit her.

If anyone is a UNB student you should write a letter to the editor before noon tomorrow so it can be published in the school paper before the election. Baron@unbsj.ca

When I spoke with her i realized that Bernie is the bext MLA ever - he gets his riding everything and pushes the rest of us out of the way.

Anonymous said...

She is showing her true colors. She was always too good and better then everyone else.

Anonymous said...

The people of Saint John are only seeing the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Hooton's true colors! The UNBSJ incident is only the beginning. Whatever venture she decides to go for you can bank on one thing, what's in it for her!

When the pressure is on as it is now, her looks & big smile won't compensate for what's lacking upstairs. Hooton will become vendictive, recalcitrant & lash out at anyone who challenges her position. She fits right into the Lord mould....

She should go back to directing plays at SJHS where everyone thinks she wonderful & come to think of it so does she. Do we really need a narcissistic person representing Saint John?

Hooton's campaign posters "offends my sensibilities"!! Perhaps Ms. Hooton should give up the race as she doesn't seem to have "the intestinal fortitude"!!
