Trevor Who??? a little north-end humour there.

Ahh a good politician that deserves the job

Spinks said...

No brainer. Some Saint John representation was desperately needed.

Anonymous said...

well it is long overdue he is going to do a good job.

Anonymous said...

Second Rate!

Lordy said so!

Wasn't that Michelles's job?

Anonymous said...

You are challenged

Shawn said so

Get a life

Opening line in Carl Davies column says it all. This was no suffle.

Lord is crippled when it comes to taking any action. Man just cannot make decisions. Shuffle was long overdue and this is what he does. Jody Carr must be one hell of an unhappy trooper these days. Time for backbenchers to cross the floor because with Lord they are going no where.

Strange cabinet 'shuffle' a real head-scratcher

CARL DAVIES
CAPITAL NOTEBOOK

It was like going to a Rolling Stones concert and having the Stones' cover band The Blushing Brides walk out instead.

jw think of this one the liberals have had people knocked out then run again there is where it's going to be the real mess, frank, roly, stuart, hedart they were all there before and now they want to do it again that is what you call a joke

Spinks said...

I see your point jwmcq but someone has to do it. Who do you recommend should have received it instead of Holder?

Blogger Charles LeBlanc said...

I believe that maybe as Minister? Trevor could help the poor in his riding. If you nelieve that Saint John Harbour is bad? Portland is wrose!!!!

Anonymous said...

jwmcq you are right. Come to think of it what experience Bernard Lord had before entering politics, selling used cars. Why we deserved this? Since he go elected as a Premier the man has not stopped promoting himself at the expense of public money and well-being. Sooner we get rid of this crowd better it is for NB.

10:14 get a life and stop writing for the old liberal party. Look at the liberal cacus now they are old McKenna boys who already put this province in ruins, now they want another shot?? this is where N.B. should realize that the liberal party is power hungry and they will stop at nothing to get in.. As for used car salesman that was Dave Jordan and he won in 1999 taking out a deputy premier, not too bad for a used car salesman ah?

Anonymous said...

Bernard Lord was the used car salesman. How soon we forget. He could not do a good job of that but he sold us bunch of stinking goods in 1999 and we are paying the price to this day. Orimulsion: $3billion down the drain and counting, healthcare in tatters, relations with fed worse ever, our finances a mess, economy a disaster.

Sooner we depart company with this failed car salesman better it will be for all of us.

Another loser in Lord Cabinet. What does this guy know about Environment? Nothing. By the time he does get to know little bit government will change. What a bunch of losers.

Lordy Lord calls it Cabinet shuffle. Strange, eh!

Anonymous said...

How about the Feds are at a all time low to N.B. because they don't care about us??? Won't sign our child care agreement but will sign Quebec's??? sounds like a liberal move yet again. WOn't matter though liberals are going out federally then the province will run better anyways. Then each province will realize that the liberals are making our country the worst it can be by not supporting the Provinces. Canada will not be fooled again by the liberals just wait til the next election when they get spanked in Ontario. SPONSORHIP SCANDAL will be the fall I just hope that none of that woodmarketing money found its way into a provincial party??? or that would be devistating.

Spinks said...

Sadly 11:20 I think you're wrong. If we go to the polls now the Liberals are likely to form another minority government. The slander against Harper by the Liberals has been effective and it will be difficult for the Conservatives to turn it around. They need a new leader if they're going to ever get a majority government.

Anonymous said...

Lord is finished no matter what he does now. Not signing childcare agreement and gas rebate agreement are two more nails in his political coffin. Then that humiliating defeat in Saint John. That must haunt him and it should. The guy had a long time to make a Cabinet shuffle and this is the best he can do. Man, he cannot make decisions. Simply too incompetent. He may exit much sooner than June 2007. Good Tories cannot stand him. He is too unethical even for Tories. Bye bye, hope he liked bye-election.

Anonymous said...

Well if the liberals form another Minority government it will be because they bought it.. Conservatives will pick up seats all around this time so i think you may be wrong on that. Also the provincial liberals may be in hot water also.. 2 Years to turn this around. And I just wonder if any of that woodmarketing board money made it into a provincial party for the 2003 election??? That could be doomsday for a party

Anonymous said...

Hey Spinks, for a change you are right. Harper is too scary. He is never going to be elected as Prime Minister. MacKay stands a better chance if becomes leader.

Anonymous said...

Peter MacKay does have a chance. Lord is done. So what choice Conservatives have. Choose MacKay as your leader and you may have a shot at the Prime Minister's office. The guy is likeable.

Anonymous said...

As long as no more liberals in Ottawa or N.B. then that is okay with me they won't stop stealing and cheating to become power hungry

Spinks said...

MacKay doesn't have the French to be PM. Somebody else is needed. Lord is probably the front runner unless someone else comes forward. While he may not be as popular as he once was in NB, he's well liked in the rest of the country.

Lord is no hero nationally either. There was a poll done amongst the Conservatives nationally and his approval rating was 7% behind MacKay and and Harris ex-premier of Ontario. We all know how popular Harris is. Lord is at the bottom even amongst Conservatives. Amongst general population he may be at 2%. That is not a big endorsement. Only paper which glorifies him is Times and Transcript of Moncton and what does that tell you.

Anonymous said...

How about the poll was done in Ontairo. At leaset Lord could be the leader what is your Oppisioton leader going to do after provincial politcs? Nothing he is to stupid to run for Federal. What a laughing stock of the Liberal party your leader is why won't he call leadership?? Because he knows he will be finished and his dad wouldn't want that now would he??

Anonymous said...

Why you are so obsessed with Liberals. We are talking about Bernard Lord and 7% is no endorsement. Poll was done nation wide and not only Ontario. 7% is pathetic. Even a person from the street can do better. So wake from your dreamworld and face the reality. I know it is bitter and it hurts.

Anonymous said...

The only thing that is bitter is your current leader of the opposition.. I know you cannot face it that he sucks and he should call leadership review, can you deal with that? Can you deal with that people might not like bernard lord but would still rather vote for him then shawn graham? doesn't that make you want a shot of Tequila so you can have another "lick" of graham?

Anonymous said...

4:11 I agree with you on that one shawn does not hold any weight in N.B. why won't he call leadership review?

Blogger Charles LeBlanc said...

You guys or gals still fighting???? Why don't you use a Nick? As for the leadership review??? I say bring it on.....No one will challange Shawn anyway because he's a people's person. This is the reason the Liberals won in Saint John. Shawn comes in as a person you can talk with but Bernard Lord acts like a King. Mind you, I never had troubl chatting with the Premier every instance I come across him. I haven't seen him for a while so God knows who he'll react once I bumped into him?

Anonymous said...

It is just your daydreaming which is a problem. People did not vote for Lord in Saint John Harbour and did not vote for him in Shediac despite that Lord gave it all and made umpteen promises. And they did not vote for him in another 25 ridings. Come next election he will be wiped out from the political map of NB. So as a Tory if you wish to survive then get rid of this dead weight called Bernie Lord. I like Tories but I have no use for wimps like him.

Anonymous said...

Charles: what choice we have. This is a worthwhile topic to discuss rest of your blog is becoming chaotic including that religious stuff which does to belong in this blog. Leave that to priests. I do not visit the site to read Bible. I can do that at home at spare time.

Say Charles -what do the following letters have in common ISL
IOL

MF
IT all has got to do with Frigates and the story behind it is better than the Gomery Inquiry because it is all about your pals the Irvings . The Mulroney gang are envolved Ans : numbers (PIDS)

Anonymous said...

Here is the thing PC's won Kent south lost shediac which has never voted conservative, and lost Saint John Harbour which has been NDP for 12 years so what is your problem

Anonymous said...

Are you hoping under Lord you may be able to win Kent South again. Doubt it very seriously. Then that will be the only seat you will win.

In Saint John you had a very popular politician, a star candidate, Lord called all the shots, and then made announcements worth over $50 million and still lost miserably. If that is not the writing on the wall then good luck and enjoy the oblivision which is headed your way.

Anonymous said...

Kent south was won in a by-election and yes it will be won again so will 27 other seats because shawn is too stupied to run the province

Anonymous said...

Dream on. He cannot win a balloon even at a country fair. Bernie is done.

Anonymous said...

The only thing done is the Liberal party federally and provincially. Shawn has no support his father can't keep holding him up in the legislature, kelly is all done writing his speeches and chris baker is running out of funding for his salary which equals a liberal flop.

Anonymous said...

Worry about Bernard Lord. At below 30% approval rating his political goose is cooked.

Anonymous said...

Lord has six years and now we have had enough. I think Shawn Graham deserves at least a four year term and then you can crack your pathetic comments. Looking forward to someone who can at least try to talk to the people and not hide most of the time. Good Bye Lord!

Anonymous said...

No one is happy or satisfied with the Liberals in Ottawa and certainly the people there will correct the problem.

We have our own problems here and we have fix our problems with the PC's in NB.
Does anyone know who may be running for PC's or Liberals?
Too early!

Trevor when we went knocking door to door the people really liked you and some good things to say. The bottom line though they did not like the LNG Deal and that they still think someone should revisit the Deal. You had said it was 50/50 but that was so far off--almost all people were against the Tax Deal, others never heard of it, some worked for Irving or family members worked there afraid to sign against so did not sign, some were out or too busy. The percent was over 80% against the Deal that Mayor struck and I would say 99.99 % against Lord for changing a Bill to make it legal ; shame on them.
