Do a little Dance, make a little love! Its time for a Conservative Government!!! OH yeah!!!!!!!

Conservtive goverment? Only if you have lost all your sense. Who is praising Harper even before he becomes PM (which for Canada sake should not happen)Bush and sundry. If Martin did so much for Bush then why Bush is so unhappy with Martin. Where is your logic of deduction. It is Harper we have to worry about. Green Party leader will make a much better Prime Minister than Harper. Harrison at least knows that there are others countries in the world besides Canada and U.S. Harper now has travelled Canada somewhat before that centre of the world was Alberta for him. We just do not want another Dubbya here or his Mini-Me.

We should all go to our respective churches and pray for Canada. Do we want a puppet of Bush in Canada, Stephen Harper? Of course not.

That's odd thinking, talking about how Martin kisses Bush's ass and then saying 'vote for the guy who will DO IT RIGHT'. There is absolutely nothing that can be done about softwood, even Harper says that. His idea is to be even nicer to Bush and hope for the best.

As for the military, 'peacekeeping' does not take submarines, ships or technical equipment. Go ask anybody who has served in Cyprus. They want more military money so that 'we' can join the US more effectively on their imperialist missions abroad and clean up wars THEY start.

If anything Martin is putting TOO MUCH in military. Bring them all home, there is no reason to have a military except self defense. If an area needs military intervention it should be up to a national referendum where soldiers should get more votes (since they're lives would be on the line). Apart from that, neutrality is the best position for a national military.

9:24 AM I agree with most of your analysis, however, some of the Harper's past statements scare the crap out of me. He has said in the past that we should have taken part in Iraq. We know what quagmire that is.

When he was asked about foriegn affairs he said other Prime Ministers when first elected did not know much about either. Not true. When pressed by Peter Mansbridge he said he will talk to his wife as she has travelled abroad. That was not very calming to nerves. Man is not ready to be Prime Minister. Green Party leader will make a better Prime Minister than Harper as Harrison is much more knowledgeable compared to Harper. Martin of course is very familiar with foriegn issues. Martin's party has committed blunders but once burned twic careful.

I am just totally afraid of Harper and not impressed with Jack Layton who behaves like used-car salesman - buy my party or vote for it. That is all he seems to be saying and not much substance.

Could not have said it any better.
Harper scares the heck out of me also. I sure hope people wake up and reconsider voting for that man.

I doubt that's true that 'once burned twice careful'. If anything the liberals are moving closer to american line of thinking. We already join them in Afghanistan and Haiti, and you can't even get ANY national party to talk about it. Canada has also changed long standing votes on the rights of palistinians, now the US has 5 whole countries which will side with them and Israel, while the rest of the world votes for rights of palestinians.

The liberals are certainly no saviours, while Layton doesn't have a chance I don't think that serves anybody's purpose to make asinine comments like 'he behaves like a used car salesman'. Who cares how he 'behaves', what POLICIES is he pushing, that's the issue. He can act like a drunk monkey for all we should care-so long as he's got decent policies (although they aren't his, they are NDP's)

My people are so touchy. Politicians have been called far worse than 'car-salesman'. During debate Layton was a broken record: Vote NDP, please vote NDP. You just present your views and people know which party Layton belongs to.

It is not a great choice given the current crop of leaders but IMO Liberal is the only choice comparing with far-right Harper.

the liberals said no to the americans on iraq, anyone who has half a clue about politics knows that its the 'OPPOSITIONS' job to 'OPPOSE' the party in power.

i mean just think about it,at that time its wasent just about saying no to iraq,it was about saying no to the U.S. that we have BILLIONS of dollars in trade with every day,OFCORSE WHOEVER was in opposition was going to jump all over the liberals to try & make them look bad or worse depending how you look at it with the americans. the liberals would have done THE VERY SAME THING if positions would have been switched. but now we are getting into FICTION now arnt we? coulda, woulda, shoulda has been the basis of the liberal campaign for two elections now hasent it?. reguardless of what stephen harper said OR did not say as 'OPPOSITION' leader to me makes absolutly no difference because I KNOW whoever was in opposition would have done the same thing.

all FICTION,thats all the liberals have to go on,what might have happened, what might happen, out of context remarks spun into fear,ETC,ETC. ANYTHING to hold onto POWER!.

ITS TIME FOR CHANGE!.

please vote based on the FACTS & not liberal FICTION tomoro.

More auto plants and stores are closing in Michigan!!!!! Bad>>> for the economy...and Bush doesn't care....Roads need fixing! And, all he worrys about is Iraq!

To Fiction:

We have BILLIONS of dollars trade with China and rising. Should we not go for war for them too. Very poor argument to justify participating in an illegal war in Iraq. It is a might is right situation.Canada kept its good name by not partcipating. Harper may change it if, God forbid, he forms the next government.

IF that were actually true that it is the 'oppositions job to oppose the government' then that would mean that every bill the liberals presented SHOULD have been opposed. They weren't. 80% of the bills presented by the liberals were AGREED to by the conservatives.

Here's the bills that the conservatives didn't do thier jobs as opposition but instead voted with the liberals:

Bill C-28, an act to amend the food substances act (opposed by the bloc and ndp)

Bill C-22, creation of the 'social development department' (opposed by NDP and Bloc-so much for the conservatives 'small government agenda)

Bill C-30k parliamentary salary increase (surprise suprise)

Bill C-278 Employment insurance

Bill C-23, Department of Human Resources and Skills development (again, MORE big government, but opposed by the bloc and the NDP)

So obviously being in opposition doesn't mean you oppose the government in EVERYTHING.

As for trade does that mean you change every facet of your political existence simply because a trading partner wants you to? Particularly if its a trading partner which breaks trade treaties, international law, and even its own constitution.

As for conservative 'ethics':
"Conservative Leader Stephen Harper says he's standing by MP Gurmant Grewal who is accused of mishandling political contributions.

CBC News has documented several cases where donations made to Grewal never made it to official party accounts, nor were they reported to Elections Canada.

Harper said Tuesday he has no reason to investigate Grewal's finances. "We'll obviously get what information we can. I wouldn't call it an investigation," he said.

Grewal is already under police investigation after tape-recording his conversations with Liberals about crossing the floor. Now RCMP are interviewing people who say they made donations to Grewal but never received a receipt. "
