It’s late in the evening and I feel that I must write of today’s experience at the services of Father Daniel Thivierge.
I was honoured when Father Brien asked me if I wanted to attend the Military service in Gagetown.
I believe that we were going to attend a ceremony in a large building and some kind of parade was going to honour the former Priest?
I was wrong.
It was located in this little Church.
The Priest had to be there one hour before the start of the service so therefore I had lots of time on my hand.
I noticed over 10 people from L’Eglise-Des-Pays-Bas attending the service to pay their respect to Pere Daniel Thivierge.
Soliders began to show up in great numbers.
This guy turned everyone heads because he look exactly like his brother Daniel.
It was his brother Steve.
Once the service began, I was told that the Parents sat up front and they looked happy of the way their son was being honoured.
I must admit that it was very difficult to watch the tribute because there wasn’t a dry eye in the whole building.
I had a very hard time to hold my emotion because the people around me all had tears in their eyes.
It was sad.
What really got me going was the song – Amazing Grace!
It does it to me all the time and I did warn Father Brien while they were practicing.
It was a fine tribute to his son.
Before the group played their song.
A soldier played the last post.
Two sad songs in one shot.
A little too much for many in attendance to accept. It was very emotional and when it was over?
During the service, Daniel's Father Michel jumped up and sang a song with the style of his son Daniel.
From what I’m told, I guess that the former Priest used to sing the
song Amen while dancing a little step.
I told Father Brien that this was the best one hour and 45 minutes I ever spent.
I was told that the funeral of Daniel Thivierge held in Quebec was attended by over 500 people and this was during a heavy snow storm. He was liked by many.
It was a fine tribute to a fine young man.
The service was far from over because everyone was lined up to shake the proud family members hand.
I expected the handshakes to take place at the reception area but once again I was wrong.
Myself, I was in the back so therefore I was the first individual they met.
I shook Daniel’s brother hand and gave him my sympathy and told him that I had his brother on my website.
He quickly told me that he has heard about me and the story of his brother on my blog.
Hey? Word travels fast especially with the information Highway.
After the service was over, we all gathered at the reception.
Before entering, I asked to take a picture of the Family and they gladly oblige but before this picture was taken?
I heard a very interesting story.
I told his brother that I protested in a tent in front of the Legislature for a six month period.
Steve told me that the system wanted him and his brother to be on Ritalin but the parent refuse.
I told Father Brien before taking the picture that the system wanted the two brothers on Ritalin?
The Father quickly turned angry once he heard the word-
Ritalin!!!!
I quickly dropped the issue but on a one on one, I asked his brother to tell his Father about my battle.
We weren’t there to discuss the issue of Ritalin.
We were there to honour Daniel Thivierge.
Later on in the day, I told this story to someone who supports
Ritalin.
I said - If it wasn’t for the Parents? Daniel Thivierge would have
been forced on Ritalin therefore never becoming a Priest!
The guy quickly answered – Maybe he would have became a Pope if he would have been on Ritalin???
I found that line funny!
But seriously? It just goes to show you and if you drugged a child at a young age?
That individual is done for life!
Ok..funny how this blog change into a Ritalin issue???
We stayed at the reception for 45 minutes and had a good time.
Father Brien dropped me off and he told me that the family is suppose to attend the service in the morning.
Morning came and sure enough the whole Thivierge Family showed up and were met by Father Brien.
They must have said - Oh My God? There’s the guy with the camera again????...lol
I don’t believe they know why I take all these pictures?
I know that I will make a final blog to honour their dead son.
Once they arrive back to Quebec? They could always print this blog for a souvenir.
I had a chat with Steven < their son > He turned a lot of heads. Many in the Church felt that a miracle just happen because he looks just like his brother.
I asked the young guy if the Family has received a note from the Premier’s office?
Steven told me that they didn’t but then again? It’s been so hectic that maybe they didn’t notice. I hope the staff from the Premier’s office didn’t ignore my request to send a message to the family in Quebec?
I’ll find out what’s going on?
They seated in the middle of the Church and afterwards they told the
Priest that they truly enjoyed the service and away they went.
Father Brien spoke very highly of Daniel.
Once again, my deepest sympathy to the whole Thivierge Family and I hope they find the courage and determination to continue with their lives?
Yes, it’s the end of a great tribute to Father Thivierge, He will be truly missed.
Lets pray that the family can move on to greater events in their lives knowing that their son Daniel will be missed by many and he’s in a better world.
God Bless
I find it fitting to paste GOD'S MINUTE in this blog.
MAN DOES NOT LIVE BY BREAD ALONE; BUT MAN LIVES BY
EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS FROM THE MOUTH OF THE
LORD.
( DEUTERONOMY 8:3 *NKJV )
Dear Charles,
Just as we need bread to feed our human bodies, we need
the Word of God to feed our spiritual bodies as well.
Now it is written that Jesus Christ is the Word of God! For;
THE WORD BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US, AND
WE BEHELD HIS GLORY, THE GLORY AS OF THE ONLY
BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER, FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH.
( JOHN 1:14 )
It is also written that; JESUS SAID, "WHOEVER DRINKS
THIS WATER WILL THIRST AGAIN, BUT WHOEVER DRINKS
OF THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM WILL NEVER
THIRST. BUT THE WATER THAT I SHALL GIVE HIM WILL
BECOME A FOUNTAIN OF WATER SPRINGING UP UNTO
EVERLASTING LIFE. ( JOHN 4:13-14 )
So Charles, always keep your eyes on our Savoir Jesus
Christ. Always remembering that; JESUS SAID; "I AM THE
BREAD OF LIFE. HE WHO COMES TO ME SHALL NEVER
HUNGER, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN ME SHALL NEVER
THIRST." ( JOHN 6:35 )
Now it is my hope that these messages provide your
Spiritual Body with a good breakfast each morning! If so, I
have accomplished the mission that God gave me to do.
Amen.
With My Love & Prayers,
your servant Allen

I just notice something...the last picture. The small child looks like the same action that Daniel Thivierge made when he met Father Brien? The time that I wrote he bow to Father Brien.
Father Dan was our beloved priest at St. Mary's and we miss him terribly. We know that he is in a better place but my heart is heavy. He will always be with us and we need to continue his work. When you meet someone like him he changes your life forever. His goodness and spirit will forever be a part of me. He touched so many of us and we were lucky to have known him. He was "Our Jesus".
I never met Father Daniel but I am happy to see he will be there for people in Heaven. Bless his family and friends and all people who knew him. Another Angel with my sister who drowned at 13 in 1963; I was 10 at the time. Since so many more have died young and old. I am sorry for the loss here on earth but he has plenty to do in Heaven.
