Who cares really, people will vote for someone who does not care about floor walkers, look at all of the people who voted for Paul Martin, Keith Martin, Scott Brison, and Belinda and so on. Harper is just playing the game and those are the rules of the game.
A lot of people care, mostly in his riding. Just like some people cared about Stronach. As it is not OUR riding, it really is none of our business. Clearly the people of the riding have been protesting. If Andy Scott simply decided to switch sides I would imagine lots of people in Fredericton would be similarly protesting-Charles certainly would. HOwever, it's up to the people of the riding to protest whether they are OK with it or not. Nobody showed up in Newmarket to protest Stronach, actually, since it is heavily urban most of the people were quite happy, as can be seen by the fact they voted her in again. Personally, I think a byelection SHOULD have been called there, just like now. The whole reason people voted for Harper was because he wasn't going to follow THOSE rules.
