CITY TAXPAYERS PAYING FOR PRIVATE OWNER PROPERTY UPGRADING???

2, originally uploaded by Oldmaison.

Is this a favor to heritage owner of Germain Street ? Or is the owner paying these City workers for their time and Equipment?

I was under the impression that the City of Saint John was under a very tight budget for the City Works Dept.

Compared to some of the more important issues of the day I find this one inparticularly a little questionable.

Looks to me as if the Water Dept had a leak into the house and the sidewalk and flower bed got torn up in the process. Now they are replacing it which would be the proper thing to do!

Can someone get ahold of them and ask if maybe they could go down to the south-end and North-end to fix up all of the slumbs which would be roughly every third building in those areas.

I hope Dr.Doherty sees this one so he understands how he might get a few pointers on how to get these things done.

2:57 it was not the water,The sidewalk is from when they had the gasline put in and we all know that is a private company that does that.

Not the City of Saint John.

Who knows what truly happens behind our backs! Happy that people are keeping their eyes open. Informing us is a good thing. No one at city hall is open to the public. They have groups, committees, boards you name it everyone has more say then the taxpayers ans citizens of Saint John.
Outside areas are brought here and they get paid big bucks to tell us what or how things should go.

Inclusive means something different then what is in the dictionary!
