This is pretty sad!!! Shame on the Police Forces.
Good for them. I hope they keep the rif raf away.
SHAME, SHAME ON THE GESTAPO!! BUSKING IS A WAY OF MAKING A LIVING BUT WHAT WOULD THE LORD GOVERNMENT OR THE CITY OF FREDERICTON KNOW ABOUT THAT!! I HOPE THE FELLOW SUES THEM...IN SAINT JOHN THEY ARE NOW CHARGING $2000.00 TO SELL HOTDOGS, BUT I BET IRVING DIDN'T PAY THAT FEE TO HOST A BARBEQUE AT THE GOLDEN BALL THE OTHER DAY, AND FOR THE HOTDOG CART AT THE FRONT DOOR OF KENTS ...I GUESS IT PAYS TO HAVE THE INCOMPETANT MAYOR OF SAINT JOHN LOOKING THROUGH "ROSE COLOURED GLASSES"" AND SEE BLUE SKY INSTEAD OF" A BIG FOG""
THESE ARE HONEST PEOPLE TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING THE BEST WAY THEY KNOW HOW....HAS ANYONE SEEN THE SUPERB PERFORMANCE THEY HAVE OF THE BUSKERS IN HALIFAX....THIS IS A CITY ON THE MOVE....IT SEEMS ALL WE HAVE HERE AND IN SAINT JOHN IS THE CITY GOING DOWN THE DRAIN, OR OUT TO SEA ON AN LNG TANKER
Stop shouting. It's ignorant and no reads it.
Why on earth should a company be charged a vendor fee for selling things on their PRIVATE property. The Golden Ball and Kents do not belong to the city and therefore they can do whatever they want to on their own business properties, plus they pay property and other taxes. For some guy who wants to start up a hotdog cart and sell on the streets of Saint John, the city has every right to charge a vendor fee. The city would have no other method of getting their entitled dues from hotdog/pretzel/sausage carts, as they do from all other legit businesses. A business is a business - the cart vendors shouldn't get a free ride when all other businesses have to pay to do business.Fredericton should start selling busker licenses. I don't know if Halifax sells them but it wouldn't surprise me if they do. It would keep the busking under control. Keep in mind though, that somebody sitting on a milk crate, doing nothing to entertain, just begging for money, is not a busker.
