CY LEBLANC MUST NOT BE RE-ELECTED!!! A HUGE PENSION FOR LIFE??? I DON'T BELIEVE SO!!!!
Cy LeBlanc the P.C. MLA from the new riding of Dieppe Centre-Lewisville must not I repaet - MUCH NOT BE RE-ELECTED in that riding.
I first met this guy in Memramcook during the election of 1999 and he didn’t say much.
I once again came face to face with Cy LeBlanc during the summer of 2002 during my 18 days in a tent in front of the Legislature.
Once Bernard lord walk by us. He totally ignored me.
It showed me that he was scared to be seen with me in front of the premier.
During the beginning of my protest in 2003, Cy came walking to the front door of the Legislature. He just got re-elected as Mla a few weeks earlier so I went right to his face and said - Don’t you collect that pension too fast because there will soon be an election.
I guess I wasn’t far off the mark < 3 years later > there is an election and if Cy LeBlanc wins?
He’s in the money! A HUGE FAT PENSION FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE!!!!
On another issue? He never said a word when Trevor Holder over-rule the citizens of Memramcook and allowed the Irvings to built a Gravel pit.
As the MLA in that area? Cy LeBlanc should have stood by the people of the Valley but he didn’t!
On another issue? He’s one of the gang of eight of voted to have me ban from the legislature.
I am certain that he’s the main individual behind this! < Beside Quebecois Dan Bussieres >
I might add that he always acted like a fool during question period in the Legislature. < He should have taken his Ritalin >
I say to the citizens of Dieppe-Lewisville not to vote this man in for another term because he doesn’t deserve a huge pension from New Brunswickers.
I might go down there and campaign against this guy.

I know Cy and he is a good guy and MLA. I take issue with a couple of your points.
"On another issue? He never said a word when Trevor Holder over-rule the citizens of Memramcook and allowed the Irvings to built a Gravel pit."
They put their gravel pit next to 2 existing ones. They studied the affects of the dust and did not find any link that the dust caused cancer. Cy let is go, because the are needs economic development badly and it was a very small group that opposed the project. Primarly because of people who did not produce factual evidence against the pit and most just wanted to stick it to the Irvings. Like you!
"As the MLA in that area? Cy LeBlanc should have stood by the people of the Valley but he didn’t! "
He did lobby Holder about the concerns and made sure that all proper procedure were being followed. They did and he made the right decision. I might also add that he tried several economic dev projects like a call center which the Council, well know Liberals, rejected.
I'll also add this to mix:

...and that's just Memramcook.
He's the MLA that has contributed the most to M'cook and anyone should be fortunate enough to have him is lucky.
I'm curious as to what you will post for the Liberal MLA's tht voted to ban you too. I bet you give them a "get out of Jail free" card because they gave you the puppy dog look and lied to your face.
Boy...that was a long one but it's only fair that I post your view in this blog.
I got to start charging for political advertissement....lol
Le Comite Beaubassin said NON!!!!
Ont ne veut pas un autre rock pit a Gayton!!!!
Cy LeBlanc a rien dit!!!!
Assez dit!!!
It does sound like a party advertisement, but the sentence 'its only fair I post your view in this blog' shouldn't even be mentioned. It's one thing to talk about vulgarity, its another to even consider blocking political points of view.
Especially ones that are so easily disputed. As mentioned by Charles, the governments own Committee ruled against the gravel pit, that's hardly "a small group".
Nobody would ever claim a gravel pit 'causes cancer', that's just ludicrous. The dust is well known to cause many types of emphesema and other breathing disorders, and in fact many people recounted these problems.
Keep in mind this is New Brunswick, just about any visible opposition hides a much larger force because its such a small province and so difficult to find work. Its very bad form to go public against Irving interests, they have a well known vendetta streak. So in a sparsely populated area, the number opposing this should be taken very seriously.
We can also mention that Cy doesn't even have half of the votes of the riding, and only 33% of the voters there actually voted for him. So obviously not everyone believes he's a 'good guy'.
Next, if you go down through that list you'll see that the vast majority of 'perks' are road renovations, hardly a standout of political representation. The other is education, which has seen increases in all semi urban areas.
As for economic development that's a story I've heard tossed around but still haven't heard any facts to back it up. That a call centre wanted to locate in his riding and for some reason needed council permission seems odd. I don't know about that riding, but it simply depends on the zoning, that's all the municipality has to do with it. A company buys land and sets up shop. A city council certainly can't stop you from running a business, or else you can sue their asses. If it was a zoning issue I find it hard to believe that in no part of the municipality is it zoned industrial or commercial.
If you are attentive to poverty issues, 8 units in Dieppe is almost literally a slap in the face to the poor. That in itself shows an incompetence rarely seen in a public official. The idea that roads need some upgrading, a school needs a new playground, "Canoe Club Rivers" (whatever that is) needs new equipment, a museum needs money for a website (hey, those are free ya know), artisans craft centre needs a recycling program (here's one, save your bottles and bring them to the recycling depot), and some signs need replacing (here's a thought, buy a piece of metal and some paint), more than people need a decent home over their heads is deplorable.
If that WAS an electoral plug, it definitely is only going to skew to a very specific demographic-selfish unimaginative bastards who do little for their community.
As for the other point somewhat viciously implied, Charles hasn't yet said anything about the liberals. When he does we can pick it apart the same as this. However, we should add one caveat, and that is that there were five tories on there and only three liberals. They very well could have suspected an election and would know the tories would take a lot more flak for this and so went along with it.
That may be granting them too much credit, but I'd say that charles has pretty good grounds for not liking Cy Leblanc or wanting him re-elected. And they are not purely subjective reasons either. Just go read the committee hearings and see.
No doubt the 'progress at any price' and the Irving supporters will vilify these grunts for daring to stand up for a decent community, but thats not everybody, and gravel pits don't supply THAT many jobs.
Defeated MLA's with 8 years service do not qualify for their pensions right away, do they? Don't they still have to wait until they are 55 or some definite age?
Have you ever been to Mcook? Roads are important because it is a heavily rural riding. The village does not have a industrial zone, therefore why council needed to approve the call center.
Next, the Beaubassin committee has a heavy lean towards the Liberal side of things and this issue was heavily politicized. Mcook is a Liberal riding, has always been so when a Con gets 33% of the vote that is pretty good.
If I still lived in Mcook, I moved because the coucil is contempt to remain stagnant, I would vote for the Lib candidate Bernie Leblanc. I would because like Cy, he is a hard worker and trustworthy.
As for the poor... The best we all can do to contribute to the poor is to make sure we never become poor.
Mcook's priorities were focused on infrastructure as dictated by council. Cy came throught for them big time as pointed out above.
Charlie your hat pretty well says it all when it comes to dan and the unethical decisions he has made for himself.
'The Perfect Storm'
Nobody said roads aren't important, but I think that says it all if you think 'the best we can do for the poor is not become poor'. That's completely illogical and untrue, and somewhat crazy sounding. I guess Jesus was wasting his time, and every social policy of the last century was a non starter. Not becoming poor doesn't do ANYTHING for the poor.
Some facts on the call centre would be nice since views online tend to get pretty partisan. Memramcook isn't the only place in the riding, and even rural areas have industrial centres. What was the name of the company, where did they relocate to? When we know those things we can comment.
As for the committee, its easy enough to say something is 'politicized' as if its a bad thing. The fact is, once elected, a representative is supposed to represent everybody. That means if you have a substancial group who have very justifiable safety claims and a committee rules in their favour but one minister overules that decision that favours a massive company, then thats a view that locals should expect a representative to voice.
That, to me, doesn't sound trustworthy at all, in fact quite the opposite. All the above accomplishments point out is what is usual in politics, and that is the more you suck up to the leader, the more benefits your riding gets. That way you'll get re elected. Having nicer rural roads doesn't do that much for people, go and ask them what they'd like to see for policy and you'll get a far different answer than roads and money for weird crap for local clubs with no initiative.
Again, some people may like him, thats fine, the point is that Charles is being far from subjective in claiming why he doesn't think he should be elected.
Of course the final fact is that people have a perfect right to 'remain stagnant' if thats what they choose. Others may not like it, and they are free to challenge them in the next election. I've lived in many rural ridings and I don't blame them for not wanting a call centre or such thing.
