Yes! Whether you like them as a person or not is irrelevant. They all serve the community and I can tell you that most probably took a paycut to be an MLA because they all have a passion for our province.
Being in goverment is not easy on their families or their health.
There is absolutely nothing in the last seven years that justifies any of these individuals getting pensions for their dire input of put downs and insults to the people of New Brunswick while lining their pockets with the hard earned dollars of all those who want desperately to see change in this province toward a more balanced and dignified system for all New Brunswickers as well as a transparent and open dialogue through their supposed representative for the future of our Children, our Seniors, and our Province.
This Province desperately needs change toward a more secure tomorrow and a sound agenda to get us there on a national and world level in order to prosper along with the rest of Canada which will never happen unless we stand tall and shout out from the roof tops that enough is enough.
This is the time for those who want to be a part of New Brunswicks new future to rise to the occasion and put their vision to paper and then to a reality that we as New Brunswickers have been so craving for many many years while being left further and further behind by those empty headed individuals who for some reason have continued to fail us in our pursuit of happiness and prosperity for all.
Mr. Murphy: It is funny that everybody out there is sitting except those people over there.
Statistics Canada says that we are second-last in GDP.
The Atlantic Provinces Economic Council says that we are second-last in job growth.
There was a 9% growth in earnings from 2001 to 2005, but we now pay 36% more in municipal property taxes, 17% more in electricity costs, 20% more in transportation costs, and 11% more in provincial taxes.
We have had nothing from this government in pocket matters for the people.
I've worked for 20 years, I want a pension now. WHy do the rest of us have to work for 40 years and pay into a pension before we can retire. I know, beacuse we have to work and fund these guys...now I get it.
On September 18th you bet this is all worth thinking about.
I don't know were that came from but I'll back it right to the wall on Sept. 18th
Please find as much as possible on the true numbers of this Government and its corrupt business dealings on a much higher level than for the average voters of New Brunswick.
The "Blue" crew will be long gone when New Brunswickers wake up on September 19th 2006 and thank God we do not have to be forced to except another 13 Months of this type of selfserving Government.
I think they should all take a pay cut. Then that way people on the Welfare who don't want to work can get more money for their Smokes, Booze and Drugs !!!!!
No MLA deserves a pension and this should be stopped. Some kind of lump sum to compensate for each year but not to set them for life.
Nothing is ever easy and all of us struggle. Pay cuts happen to all of us. Most of us have no security and no where to turn. Our future is at risk if we keep supporting these pensions and wages.
Someone has got to change our system of taking and taking from all the people who struggle and keep giving to the wealthiest. Greedy corporate wealthfare at it worst. Begin with the Irvings and our Queen they no longer need our support and money. Time for them to pick up their own tab.

No one drags them into politics. They do it out of their own free will and for glory.
Yes, especially Tanker took a huge cut in his salary:).
