The Commission agreed last month that the poor are not human! The Chairperson Gordon Porter lied to me. He told us during a meeting that he will go public on our issues but he didn't.
Gordon even lied to Bernard Richard.
The Government are making sure that the poor have no voice via the Commission.
This Commission full of appointed bureaucrats must be eliminated!
Stay tuned!!!
Mr. LeBlanc:
I apologize for taking so long to respond to your e-mail dated December 14, 2006 regarding your complaint that "In their annual report they (the Human Rights Commission) never once mentioned the issue of the poor."
As discussed during our meeting in my office, this is not a matter which I can investigate. I understand that it is your belief that the NBHRC should address poverty issues in its Annual Report, in particular since "social condition" has been recently added as a prohibited ground of discrimination. But what any government body decides to discuss in its Annual Report is not "a matter of administration" and therefore not within my mandate to review.
You may want to raise your concerns by writing directly to the Commission.
Thank you for continuing to show your concern for the most vulnerable of New Brunswickers.
Yours truly,
Bernard Richard
Ombudsman/Child and Youth Advocate
