Stop and think about it for a second. Yes, it does sound like a lot of money, but very many people in NB early $25k a year - after 12 or 13 years of work, they would have earned $300. Agreed, that's the LG's budget for a year but still to say that it's "more $$$ than most of us will ever see" is a bit a straw horse.
I agree that the LG's job is a waste of money and should be cut out, but lots of people will earn taht amount of money in this decade alone.

Lord did not appoint him. Lt. Govs are appointed by the feds. That makes him a Chrétien appointee, I believe.
How many millions does he spend of our taxdollars per year?
2005-2006 Fiscal Year: $297,400
Of that, salaries were: $181,500
They do not break it down into who got what.
There is also a payment showing to, "Hon Herménégilde Chiasson, To defray costs of operating Government House, $53,500"
Not sure what that one is all about.
