I was with the protesters since noon and while they were marching towards the Legislature.

An old citizen tried to run them over!

I was chatting with another individual when I hear lots of angry voice.

This guy didn’t have any respect for the peaceful protest at all.

Thank God nobody got killed.

I quickly took these pictures!!

Maybe the Fredericton Police Force should investigate this guy?

Always found it kind of odd that protesters always demand respect but more times that not never offer any themselves. Maybe you should have told your kids the dangers of playing in traffic.

Yes, the Fredericton Police should investigate and ticket the kids for disrupting traffic. The driver had EVERY right to be DRIVING on the road without them trying to jump in front of cars and whine about drivers trying to hit them.

In response to the anonymous post..
I saw first hand the events today, and by your response I'm guessing you didn't.
The group of protesters were just walking down the road on the way to the legislative building. Yes, the driver had a right to be driving on the road, but he could have at least shown some courtesy.
And it didn't happen the way you describe it, the image I get from what you said is "the protesters were blocking off the road, and when a car tried to come through they jumped in front of it with the intent to block traffic."
The protesters were on the road first. That car nearly hit a couple students. If a student had been injured, who do you think the charges would have been pressed against? The student who was just walking, or the man who wouldn't stop for pedestrians?

And as a comment to the first poster...you may not have noticed but it was a peaceful protest. No disrespect was intended by the students. Most passing vehicles waved or honked their support. The students were not showing a lack of respect to anyone. The group graciously got out of the way of any cars that didn't try to run anyone down.

Graciously got out of the way? The weren't supposed to be in the road in the first place. Roads are for cars, sidewalks are for people. Shouldn't these students have learned that in pre-school?

So, why don't you post the license plate number of the car that nearly ran them down?

He DID hit one of the people... twice! People were moving out of the way for the vehicle and he hit someone anyway!

And pedestrians always have the right of way; didn't you learn that in driving school?

Actually pedestrians have the right of way at pedestrian crossings anonymous. Didn't you learn that in walking school?

Anonymous said...

no, if you hit a pedestrian (even if they are jaywalking) the driver is in the wrong.

I don't know what kind of moron you are, but I didn't have to go to walking school :D

I have a good idea anonymoron, why don't you step out in front of a car and prove your right. Your not but I would encourage you to stand up (and in the road) for your beliefs.

"Your"? Nice....

Anyway, please read a book. And come up with better puns. And another name... you obviously aren't "Just Passing".

Aww, poor little anonymoron, If you can't take the heat don't walk in the street.

Sigh.... whatever. I tried. There's just no helping some people.
