One day Anita Sharma was there, the next she wasn't leaving CBC officials baffled. One CBC employee ran into her in Toronto and the story goes that she ducked them. Odd girl and a really bad way to try to build a career. Andy Wilson is better anyway and apparently far easier to work with.
The rumour is that her boyfriend in TO gave her an ultimatum: "It's me or your job in NB." Supposedly she went into CBC on a Sunday, left her cellphone and a letter of resignation on someone's desk, walked out and left town.
It goes to show you how little CBC TV is paid attention to in New Brunswick. If for example Steve Murphy up and left CTV in similar fashion, the news would travel quickly and be a story in other media. CBC's main anchor flees and nobody seems to care...or notice.
SPINKS,SPINKS,SPINKS, COME COME NOW YOU CAN HARDLY CALL HER A MAIN ANCHOR.SHE WAS ONLY THERE FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND YES I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I HAD A CHAT WITH HER WHEN SHE WAS VISITING SAINT JOHN AS WELL AS FOLLOWED HER EVENING NEWS REPORT WHICH I MIGHT ADD WAS A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. SHE WAS VERY WELL SPOKEN BUT YOU COULD TELL SHE REALLY WASN'T COMPLETE AS THERE SEEMED TO BE A LITTLE SOMETHING MISSING WHICH NOW MAKES SENSE AFTER READING THESE FEW COMMENTS.I HOPE SHE DOES ALRIGHT IN TORONTO BECAUSE THERE CERTAINLY ISN'T MUCH IN THE WAY OF PROMOTIONS WITHIN THE RANKS HERE IN NEW BRUNSWICK.AS ONE CAN SEE CBC HAS DEFINITLY GONER THROUGH THEIR SHARE OF EVENING ANCHORS ALTHOUGH THEIR CONTENT WAS UP TO PAR THEIR TREATMENT OF EVENING ANCHORS LEAVES A FEW UNANSWERED QUESTIONS SUCH AS WHY WOULD THEY BE GOING THROUGH SO MANY EVENING ANCHORS TO BEGIN WITH AND OR WHY THEY COULDN'T KEEP A STEADY ONE FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME OUTSIDE OF THE LONGER LASTING FELLA WITH THE GLASSES WHO'S NAME SEEMS TO AVADE ME AT THIS PARTICULAR MOMENT.
?!? I'm willing to stand corrected anon (although unlikely in this case), but did CBC NB have another main anchor for the 2+ years Sharma was there that they were hiding in the basement? They put her face on all their promotional material (the little there was, website, etc.) That makes her the main anchor and again nobody seemed to care or notice when she left which says somehting about the influence or lack there of of CBC TV in NB.Oh and the guy with the glasses was Terry Seguin who is still with CBC Radio in Fredericton. He didn't flee in the night.
