I wouldn't ride my bike on the street if you paid me, it'll get you killed. Just get off the bike when theres a crowd, otherwise, there's room for everybody.
In response to your post, Annonymous, when you mentioned very rudely about bikers on the sidewalk.
I am an avid dirt jumping/urban trick biker. Two years ago, I was going to meet my boyfriend at his work downtown and I was riding on the road like all you selfish bike-hating pedestrians like us to do. That was when I was hit by a half ton truck. I ended up with a bruised rib, sprained wrist, injured knee, swollen ankles, memory loss, a concussion, and now I live with a bone spur on my heel which always hurts to walk on and makes me walk with a slight limp and makes it so I can't get through a day at work without a lot of pain. This was my reward for abiding to that stupid "bikes should be on the road" rule. Drivers around here are idiots. When a biker and a car collide, who do you think is going to get hurt?
We bike around people. People usually see us coming. I, for one, have never hit a pedestrian. It should be my right to choose whether to put my life in danger by riding my dirt jump bike on the road.
So to all pedestrians who think bikers should risk their lives on the streets, either go to the city hall and ask for a bike lane, or stop complaining.

I think they should place more signs like that one, at least it would keep the idiots on bikes off the sidewalks of Fredericton.
Bikes are vehicles and belong on the streets. Those cement things beSIDE the streets are for people to WALK on. SIDE-WALK, not SIDE-BIKE.
Good job!
