Liberal house leader Stuart Jamieson is standing firmly behind a ban that prevents a blogger and activist from visiting the New Brunswick legislature.
Despite a 1,000-signature petition presented Thursday calling for the ban on Charles LeBlanc to be lifted, Jamieson said it's unlikely to be overturned.
Saint John Liberal MLA Abel LeBlanc — no relation — tabled the petition Thursday with 1,000 signatures gathered by the blogger. It was the first time anyone among the province's political elite, Liberal or Tory, had questioned the ban.
Jamieson, a member of the legislative administration committee that banned Charles LeBlanc last year, said the petition is unlikely to prompt the committee to take a second look.
"There'd have to be certain criteria that [the committee] would have to consider again to change that opinion," Jamieson said.
LeBlanc runs a popular website with some strongly worded criticisms of provincial government officials. He was banned from the legislature a year ago for unspecified harassment against the staff.

LeBlanc said the harassment accusations against him were exaggerated.
"I think it was just an issue that was blown way out of proportion," he said.
But he's still refusing to talk about what exactly happened, or explain it on his website.

Leblanc, you are like a mad dog who bites everybody and anybody and then complains to everybody and anybody that your teeth hurt. You put the blame for your teeth on the bitten one.
Another liberal hit man charles,
Watch it?
Next it will be the attack dogs.
I just couldn't see Mr. Lord and his wife being so low.
