Charles being naive, not observant or just plain stupid?






I don’t know?

Anyway, I was outside of the City and noticed a snowmobile pulling a skier up a hill.

I told the guy to stop the car so I could take a few pictures.

I walked up the hill and I noticed a group of youths.

I began chatting with them until I noticed a very strong French accent.

I quickly said - You from Quebec?

Yes, they were all from Quebec.

I quickly replied- Ahhh..... Tous des maudit Quebecois!!!

They were all from the Canadian Army.

So? I explain to them that I was a blogger and if they would go up the hill so I could take a few shots for my blog?

Now? This is where it gets interesting!!!!

I taught the guy on the snowboard was just going to ski like a water skier would do in the water.







He would zig zag down the hill with the two dogs following close by.
Good shot eh?

Well???? I was 100% wrong!!!

The snowmobile began coming down the hill and he was going faster and faster.







I might add that the guy wasn’t zig zagging!!

The driver was moving very fast and the guy was right behind him.

I could tell by the look on the driver’s eyes that he was concentrating on the road ahead of him and he was moving very very very fast!!!







I wasn’t certain where he was going?

I began thinking - Is this payback time for saying - Les Maudit Quebecois????

It was too late for me to move because I wasn’t sure what was going on???

I was in the middle of a field with no where to jump on turn?? For once my ADHD would be no good to me in this situation.

If I moved right or left? That machine would hit me head on and it would be Bye Bye Charles!!!!

I said to myself - This is it!!!! It’s over!!!!

At the last second, the guy let go of the rope and headed towards a man made ski jump!!!







The snowmobile missed me by inches!!!! I took one last shot!







I never noticed the ski jump and I missed a good shot!!!!

My God? I almost took a heart attack.

I began laughing telling the youths that I didn’t know what was going on???

They were nice enough to do the routine one last time and this time around I took a nice shot of the guy jumping freely in the sky!







Lesson well learn!!!! I will never say to a bunch of youths - Les Maudit Quebecois in a open field again!!!! lol

By the way? They were a nice bunch of kids!!!!

He always picks me up to go to Church on Sunday's but I didn't bother going with the Priest this morning because he told me last night that he has the flu.

I know we always find a excuse not to attend Church but this one was a good one.

My prayers to Father Brien for a quick recovery.

WHO ARE THE PORTER'S ANYWAY???

Who are these people anyway? Very good question if you asked moi?

I first came across Tim Porter when I landed in the Capital in 2003.







I noticed every instance, I chatted with Bernard Lord or the Ministers? He would be always be around and interfering by telling the MLA I was chatting with to move along.

At the end, I would always tell him to back off once I began a conversation with an elected official.

At first, I didn’t know who he was?

I was told that he worked for Communication.

I said- Ok.....Why is he always around our elected officials?

Chisholm Pothier was sometime in the area but he had a good attitude.






I recall Chisholm once told me - Charles? You don't know what my job is do you???

You know what? He was right on because of the way Tim was going on? I didn't know what was his job???

I was confuse!! < Not the first time!!!! >...lol

Now? Where I had grave concerns of this Tim Porter guy is when Prime Minister Stephen Harper came to the Capital.

Then came the time Bernard Lord walked into the Lieutenant Governor building to announce the election.

All the media ran up the stairs to take a good shot. I was also looking for a good picture until Tim Porter ordered me off the steps. < I was at the bottom >

The election was over and I will admit that I was a little upset when I noticed Tim Porter walking beside Premier Shawn Graham.

Then I came face to face with the Father - Gordon Porter.






He took the place of Alama Palmer < Am I spelling her name right? > who was the chairperson of the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission.

Alama was outspoken on different issues so therefore the bureaucrats had to take over!!!


Tout fini!!!!


Gordon Porter told me that the issue of Roomers and Boarders will be address and I expected a media release but it never happen!!!

Gordon Porter went further by going around the Province promoting the rights of the poor.

He made certain that the locations chosen where to far from the poor population to attend.

I might add that he was right on because nobody showed up!!!






It was a disgrace!!!

So? I have to asked the Question?

Who are the Porter’s anyway?

How can the Porter Family name be so powerful within the Bureaucratic systems?

Do they come from a Royal Family bureaucratic Tradition?

I am new in this City and I really don’t know what’s going on?

The Porter’s are no friends of the poor.

That’s for sure!!!!

I believe the Porter’s should be granted a position somewhere in a small office.

Out of sight and out of mind.

But then again? Maybe they’re so powerful that they can do whatever they wish?







Who knows?

Maybe the Family name of Porter goes back 300 years in Fredericton?

The Canadian government’s assertion that it will refuse to permit liquefied natural gas tankers to pass through Head Harbor Passage has implications that go far beyond whether any of three proposed LNG import facilities in Washington County will ever become reality. Earlier this month, Canadian Ambassador Michael Wilson notified the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission that his government would use domestic legal means to prevent such passage from occurring.

State Senator Kevin L. Raye (R-Washington County) says the move by Canada is an “unwarranted intrusion” into the Washington County LNG debate and “a serious challenge to U.S. sovereignty.” Regardless of one’s views on the merits of the LNG projects, said Raye, “every American should be concerned about the dangerous precedent it would establish for a foreign county to control access to our ports.”

Raye believes Canada acted in response to pressure from political leaders and corporate interests, including the powerful Irving group of companies in New Brunswick. “An examination of Canada’s position is revealing,” he said. “While Canada purports to have concerns about the environmental and safety aspects of LNG on our side of the border, this claim rings hollow given that they have no similar qualms about aggressively pursuing development of LNG import facilities on their side of the border.” Raye said the Canadian government gave its blessing to a Canaport LNG facility in St. John, N.B., and the Bear Head LNG facility in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia.

The Maine senator observed that the Irving group owns every English-language daily newspaper in New Brunswick and wields enormous influence in shaping public opinion in the province. It’s hardly coincidental that Irving is building its own Canaport LNG terminal in St. John. Raye also observed when Stephen Harper was elected as Canada’s prime minister, the Irving-owned Telegraph Journal in St. John called on him to assert Canada’s “sovereignty” over access to Passamaquoddy Bay.

Raye also noted that, when the shoe was on the other foot, Canada showed “utter disregard” for the concerns of U.S. border communities over the nearby Point Lepreau nuclear power plant and a controversial quarry and crushed stone operation at Bayside on the Canadian side of Passamaquoddy Bay.

As for the safety concerns raised by Canada, said Raye, “the Canadian government has no objection to ships carrying dangerous cargoes such as ammonium nitrate and dynamite routinely entering the bay and sailing past Maine and New Brunswick communities en route to Bayside.”

He also noted that vessels almost as long as, and with greater draft than, LNG tankers have entered Head Harbor passage en route to Eastport more than 150 times. And the Canadian government does not even require a pilot — let alone a licensed pilot — to accompany ships through Head Harbor, added Raye. “Surely if Canada believed this to be a hazardous route to navigate, they would have imposed this basic requirement long ago,” he said.

Dean Girdis, president of Downeast LNG, whose project is now under review by FERC, said the company has no intention to modify or withdraw its permit applications. “This issue is not about LNG anymore,” said Girdis. “It is about the right of innocent passage and freedom of navigation.”

The permitting process may disclose good reasons to modify or deny the Washington County LNG proposals. It is entirely appropriate to ensure that any such project complies with all U.S. safety, environmental and other standards.

But we agree with Raye when he declares that “each of the Washington County LNG proposals should rise or fall on its own merits, not on the unwarranted intrusion of Canada’s government and corporate power brokers.”

Maine Governor John Baldacci and New Brunswick Premier Shawn Graham “agreed to disagree” over the LNG controversy when they met together last week. FERC will have the final say in the matter, they indicated.

But we hope, as does Raye, that if Canada persists in its efforts to deny Head Harbor passage, the U.S. State Department will respond with “immediate and commensurate consequences.” Canada simply cannot be allowed to block access to U.S. ports.
