This is a street that has a speed of 25 or less someone ought to check into the speed of the taxi; whether you have a stop sign or not you have to drive with due care; what if a child was crossing how would she stop and control her vehicle. The street she was on is a one way street so plenty of room to contol if the intent was there at all. Even if one is at fault of not getting out of your way you must drive with due care at all times. Something does not seem to be right. You can't knock a vehicle over unless you are charging; seems to be the case.
You have to drive the speed stop or no stop light or sign!

Today with all the fancy computers in the vehicles can they tell if they are over the speed and when they applied the brakes.

This accident is unfortunate but draws the attention of the real problem in our city streets; SPEED and ignoring cross walks and signs. If driving near any intersection if we speed how do you avoid an accident. We see people standing to cross and will the stop no; sometimes four cars will pass and then they step out. Taxis and mail trucks are on the road everyday and for many years. People drive their cars but they still run red lights and go through intersections without any care who is in the other vehicle or who is walking. Saint John drivers can be polite but over the years all people are losing any common sense they have. Collisions happen everyday but this one seems a little too much for speeds of 25 or less. We all have to take the time to use the brakes but speed is not to be ignored. Hopefully they are fine but a lesson should be shared by all of us who drive the city streets.

Yesterday I was cut off on the section of the street near Harbour Station and I was going 45 and I was able to apply my brakes and avoid the accident. Find it hard to believe that a taxi driving on a one way street near a school zone could not avoid a roll over. THIS IS NOT DRIVING WITH DUE CARE. Everyday people screw up but this is wreckless. I guess the truth will at some point come out. People use to say if you have a stop sign you are always at fault but that is not true. When you can avoid an accident you have a responsability to at least try.

To the post above-The cab didn't have time to do anything, The mail truck came through the stop sign just as the cab was clearing the intersection and rammed it in the back corner causing both vehicles to fish the back corner of the taxi mini-van sending it up on its front corner which caused it to leave the ground and flip up on itself while the same hold caused the mail truck to yank itself over on its side.

It just happened to be one of those lock ups that only ocurr once in a lifetime that caused so much caous.

But at the same time it reminds us of how important 4 way stops are in school districts, I still find it an absolute miracle that not one child happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time concidering grades k,1 and two had just gotten out about five minutes previous to this accident

The school zone is 25 so how do you fly through the street with such force--SPEEDING and yes a fender bender would happen but this was not just because of a stop sign. What would the taxi do if I walked to cross the street or what would happen if a child was there? Just run them over.

People do go through streets stop or not and like the previous said speed has a great deal to with it. Not saying you should not stop but come avoiding accidents can happen if you are paying attention.
