Jim Wilson contract should be renewed!!!
I got a letter printed in the Irving's paper this morning.
I might have made a little boo boo.
I added Carla in the letter but she's not an Outreach Worker but she helps a lot of people on the streets who's trying to kick the habit of doing drugs.

Outreach workers do much
There are certain issues in this city that many ordinary citizens will never hear or know about, such as the people who work for the outreach program.
Last year, Mike Ryan worked very hard on behalf of the poor.
These days, Mike is taking a course in social studies at St. Thomas so he can have a stronger voice on behalf of the less fortunate.
The individual who took his place is Jim Wilson.
What do these outreach workers do?
Many poor individuals don't have a vehicle, so Jim will pick them up (once per month) and drive them to the local food bank.
What about other issues such as evictions? He will try to act like a mediator.
I might add he would speak up to the media on behalf of the poor.
Karla is another individual who nobody knows? Who's Karla? She used to be a junkie who got hook on Dilaudid.
These days, Karla attends AA or NA meetings trying to help these poor addicted souls.
These individuals are not social workers! A person such as Karla has been there and knows exactly the way of thinking of the addicted individual.
They know deep inside that they made someone feel good about themselves and that's their reward at the end of the day.
The poor people on drugs or alcohol live in a world of their own. The word "trust" is the utmost importance. It takes months for these poor souls to let anyone into their little world.
This is where Jim Wilson's work comes into action. He works as an outreach worker for the YMCA and his contract is coming to an end.
The poor population needs someone like trustful Jim Wilson so their miserable lives can be a little happier.

MICHAEL VICKS - I removed the dog photo....
After a few private emails asking me to remove the picture and since these people are long term readers of this blog?
I decided to remove the ugly picture.
Mind you? It bothered me to see this sad picture because I once had a Pittbull.
Zeus come from a drug house and he was mean. I adopted the dog and he was the best friend I ever had.
I cried and cried once he died.
I miss him deeply.
Thank God that he wasn't in the care of Michael Vicks.

I just got home from Moncton, but we were out lastnight at the O2 (Oxygen Bar on Main st.), right now Main St. is closed all weekend for a street party and this is the bouncer's n security staff arresting a drunk till the police showed up, after i took the first pic, they sent the guy in the white shirt to stand in front of me, so i moved to the side of him and continue to play...... but my battery died in my camera.
Was told today by an RCMPolice officer (who's a friend of mine and was watching too from the street n watching they didnt come after me) that if it was not for the picture i took they probably would have beat the crap out of him....
Heather Robinson last day with CBC New Brunswick will be Friday!!!!
She's moving out west but will still be working for CBC!!!

Po sprawie Josha Wolfa oraz historii z tajemnicą dziennikarską blogerów przyszedł czas na sprawę Charlesa LeBlanca. W pewien sposób kanadyjski sąd uznał, że bloger jest dziennikarzem, a wszystko w kontekście zatrzymania go przez Policję w czasie demonstracji związanej z przygotowaniami do powołania Atlantica Initiative w czerwcu 2006 roku. W czasie zatrzymania LeBlanca krzyczał, że jest blogerem i robi zdjęcia, co jednak nie uchroniło go przed powaleniem na ziemię przez trzech funkcjonariuszy.
O sprawie pisze Edwin Bendyk powołując się na inne źródła, takie jak Scobleizer (a tam odesłanie do tekstu opublikowanego przez New York Times). LeBlanc od dwóch lat prowadzi swój blog pod adresem oldmaison.blogspot.com. LeBlanc mieszka w Fredericton (Nowy Brunszwik - prowincja Kanady), a żyje z zasiłku (social assistance)
W historii chodzi o to, że w czerwcu LeBlanc pojechał do Saint John, by opisać protesty przeciwko konferencji organizowanej przez izbę gospodarczą the Atlantic Provinces Chamber of Commerce wraz z izbą handlową the Saint John Board of Trade. Te zaś były organizatorami spotkania delegatów w sprawie powołania Atlantica Initiative - inicjatywy mającej na celu powiązanie gospodarcze pomiędzy północnymi rejonami USA a atlantycką Kanadą. Doszło do demonstracji (demonstrowało setki osób), protestujący przeszkodzili w spotkaniu, przyjechała Policja, doszło do zatrzymań (por. Business Without Boundaries. New initiative hopes to make Atlantic Canada an 'epi-centre' of international trade). Wśród zatrzymanych był właśnie Charles LeBlanc. Przy okazji okazało się, że policjanci są regularnymi czytelnikami bloga LeBlanca, gdyż monitorują go w poszukiwaniu informacji o protestach (LeBlanc publikuje na temat biedy, działań wielkich korporacji, protestuje przeciwko testowaniu na dzieciach Ritalinu (lek stosowany w leczeniu ADHD - zespołu nadpobudliwości psychoruchowej z zaburzeniami koncentracji uwagi, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), określając się mianem Political ADHD Activist).
Zatrzymano zatem LeBlanca wraz z innymi aktywistami uznając, że przeszkadzał w działaniach Policji. Sędzia William McCarroll przejrzał kasety video stacji CBC z przebiegu demonstracji (można screeny obejrzeć oczywiście w blogu blogera. Na nagraniu widać podobno jak LeBlanca robi zdjęcia, a po chwili już leży na ziemi, a na nim trzech funkcjonariuszy policji. Policja zignorowała zamaskowanego demonstranta stojącego zaraz za blogerem. Jak twierdził jeden z funkcjonariuszy składający zeznania: nie rozpoznał w blogerze dziennikarza: nie miał profesjonalnego aparatu fotograficznego i generalnie wyglądał zbyt niechlujnie jak na reportera. Sędzia zaś miał w czasie przesłuchania zreplikować, że przecież chyba policjanci musieli uznać blogera za pewnego rodzaju dziennikarza, skoro przed demonstracją korzystali z prowadzonego przez niego bloga, jako źródła informacji o planowanych działaniach jej uczestników.
Po obejrzeniu nagrania sędzia napisał swoje dwudziestostronicowe orzeczenie, a tam odniósł się do tego co widział. Po wyjaśnieniu tego, że LeBlanc jest blogerem ("jestem przekonany, że wielu, jeśli nie większość mieszkańców Saint John nie rozumie tego określenia"). Jego zdaniem tenże bloger nie robił niczego niestosownego w czasie zatrzymania.
