THE CITY OF FREDERICTON SHOULD HAVE A WET SHELTER!!!!!

A few days ago, I bumped into these three individuals.

It was nice day in the Capital.

Of course they smelled Listerine.

They have a drinking problem but they’re good people. They don’t cause any problems.

This is the only City in New Brunswick that the rich bureaucrats and the less unfortunate are walking side by side.

During the summer months, these poor souls hang around outside of the shelter but not during the winter months?

It’s too darn cold!!!

So therefore they have to seek shelter were it’s warm.

Now? One of them bought up a good point to me last week.

He told me that in Halifax? There’s a place that’s called a wet shelter.

Now? Everyone knows everyone so therefore there's no problems.

I might add there’s two huge bouncers present.

I guess the City of Halifax pays for these employees.

They are Bouncers from the clubs.

Now? Wouldn’t this be a good idea for the City of Fredericton.

The Mayor could tell the less fortunate that there’s a place for them to stay warm during the cold winter days?

They wouldn’t be all over the downtown area.

What do you think???

I don't think that any human being should have to endure the freezing cold tempretures of winter, or the wet and damp ones either. I believe that every person has the right to a warm place out of the elements of nature. However, Many persons because have chosen to go this route because they don't choose to seek the proper help to get away from the addictions of whatever "Substance or, Chemical" they happen to be abusing or using at the time. The Shelters are not able to manage the problems that can and do arise when an individual is unknowingly stoned or, under the influence of Substance. While many persons are quite good natured and just simply do not pose as a risk to others, still there those who do. and as such places like shelters and other places need to maintain an environment of Security and safety.

Also I appreciate Mayor Woodside's efforts in finding accomadations for those of our citizens who find themselves in this situation. and I hope that this situation is remedied soon.

I don't hold my breath, but to the above-that's the whole reason huge bouncers are present. That's something to be worked out once facilities exist, not as an argument now.

until people will take responsibility for themselves, there's not much society can do unless government makes it acceptable to force these people to get help. even then, if they don't want it, it won't do much good. it's sad, but until they want to help themselves, we can throw all the money we want at it and it won't do a bit of good.
