Yes, Harper gets his orders from Bush. It is truly sad what this man is doing to our country and the lives of young men and women in army. We are a neutral country and peacemakers and not warmongers. Harper has destroyed our image in the world.

The Reason Canada is in Afganistan is so that the people who live in that country will have the same right as we do here in Canada...so they can write blogs without being shot on the street for treason. But the next time you feel like critisising Canada's moral obligation to fight for those rights...you might want to consider the fact that if no one did fight for those rights...you wouldnt be reading this.
Timber, that is a very odd way of fighting for the rights of Afghanis. You cannot move around without being shot at. There was no referendum which asked Americans and now Canadians to go there and shoot them. If there was indeed a referendum then vast majority will say that "go away, leave our country". We are an invading force and not a liberating force. As far as the current government in Afghanistan is concerned it is not democratic by any stretch of imagination. It is a small clique of individuals who are playing puppet to Bush to have some privileges.
